I came to see Laurin Talese who is always outstanding, unfortunately the dining experience wasn't comparable to the performance. The cocktail I had taste quite medicinal and wasn't good at all. I purchased a bottle of still water and the service was lacking so much that I poured my water the entire night. Was rarely checked up on so not got to order food. The pace is beautiful but the service doesn't match it's atmosphere at all.
Historic location for jazz and great food. Would like to visit it again.
SUPERB fish! Both the branzino and the red snapper were excellent
First time at Minton and definitely won’t be my last time. The music is LIVE and full of energy! It was out Anniversary and they have great service!
Loved the food, service, and music
The Cecil salad was amazing. I dreamt about it last night and awakened to the memory of it this morning I'm probably returning to Minton's later on in the week to have it again. Aah so, so good!!
Staff great in general
Waiter unfamiliar with menu
No cornbread? Why on menu?
We love this place!
Alan harris set amazing!
The music was great and the venue is elegant. However the food smd service were disappointing. We have been to Minton’s many times over the past few years and this time I was left questioning whether I will return. In the past the food was excellent. This time it was terrible. We waited over an hour for our entrees and they were quick cooking items. The salad was an odd mixture of ingredients including canned peaches over wilted mesclun mix. The chicken pieces were extremely small thin and cooked to the consistency of leather. The filet mignon was not much better. Perhaps the problem is restaurant week and the kitchen was overwhelmed. The menu lacks focus and tried to do too many different types of food. The old Cecil menu was better.
Enjoyed myself immensely — Allan Harris was delightful and your venue warm and embracing. Will be back, most certainly. Thank you!
A marvelous evening all around. Food, the show and the service were all first class! Can't wait to return!
It was a wonderful experience. Good Music with good food.
Eating at Minton’s was a beautiful experience. The Live music was great. I went with my parents and my hubby. We enjoyed the band. The service was great as well. The food had so much flavor and was beautiful.
I love this place every time I come. It’s amazing that something like this exists where you can see such incredible talent while eating Some of the best food in New York. If you have never been it is an experience like none other. Do yourself the favor!
This historic dinner club in Harlem is the perfect place to enjoy jazz and dinner. They share a kitchen with Cecil's Steak House next door and have the same menu. Food was first class.
Surprisingly good menu; best crab cake outside of Maryland, delicious lamb chops and mashed potatoes.
Great small venue for seeing live music.
We came to Minton's to celebrate a friend's birthday. What a joy the experience was! The menu was creative and delicious. We had the lamb chops, salmon and salad. The dessert was yummy too. The live jazz band was delightful. The service was superb. The atmosphere (ambiente) and art work was such that you immediately relaxed and knew that you were in a place with "history". Minton's is definitely a neighborhood gem.
Good experience, good food, great jazz
This place as extraordinary music and food. That’s why I keep going back. The porterhouse steak was delicious and I drooled over my friend’s paella.
It was the first time, but surly not the last if I‘ll ever come back to NY. Great service, good food and a wonderful atmosphere.
We loved our experience on a true vintage Harlem environment!
Great evening overall. Good food with a creative twist, lovely staff and excellent music. Good place to bring out of town guests.
The music was superb, as was the food. Brought friends here from out of town, and we all loved it.
The steak was a bit chewy but everything else was excellent. I recommend the crab cakes! The ambiance was awesome and the music was great. I did have a baby sitting next to me that was fussy ....not how I want to spend my trip. I wasnt happy at the fact that they charge per set with the music. So we had to pay for each set that came on stage. I think when you eat there you should pay for only one set at most. Overall this was a great restaurant.
We made reservations to Minton’s Playhouse for my husbands birthday. The ambiance, the music was romantic and relaxing. The food was fresh and flavorful. We definitely will be returning.
Emily Braden absolutely exceeded our expectations this past Friday! She is amazingly talented and so warm and personable. We had an outstanding dinner at Cecil Steakhouse prior to the show! The bartender was fantastic and the food delicious!! We will most definitely be back!
Jazz-centric in a Historic building. Food, service and ambiance was great. Went on thursday; slow night
The food is okay, although a bit overpriced and not all that inventive. But the real reason to go here is the music. As one of Harlem's original jazz clubs, Minton's continues to offer excellent performances and an atmosphere that is very much focused on the music (patrons are expected to remain quiet so as not to distract from the performance). Altogether a great night out!
We didn't dine at Minton's - just went there for cocktails and music. The ambiance and vibe are great. Servers are excellent, and prices fair. I will be back!
Just had drinks and listened to King Solomon. He and his band are outstanding. the staff at Minton's are outstanding.
Great music. Lovely ambience. Comfortable chairs. Helpful staff. Memorable experience.
Great jazz place, with the unusual combination of good food and good music. Unexpected is the high quality, very friendly service, unusual in NYC.
This was my first time to Minton's. I have wanted to check this place out for a while. So since it was the eve of my birthday I decided to go. The club is beautiful. I really enjoyed it. The music was spot on. The food was okay. I will go back and check out some more artist and try some other entrees on the menu. My dessert was spot on. :)
My mom’s m and I had a lovely time. However, the clam-less clam chowder was a disappointment. I couldn’t finish it.
Took my mom here for mother's day and had a great time! The cocktails are well recommended. Tasting menu is a great option. Thanks Trevor!
We didn't receive the regular menu. We only received the "Today's Special" menu. So our food choice was very limited.
We loved.... No ... Adored Melody Betts, what An amazing Singer. She IS blues/jazz. WAUW. Great service
Love love love this restaurant. Highly recommend for a nice evening on the town. Service is excellent. Staff is very attentive. 5 stars.
We happened to be staying in Harlem for the weekend (drove down from Montreal), and thought we'd look for something local for one evening out - and Minton's was a great find. The scene was quiet that evening, but the music was great, & nice to hear a quartet including a couple of strong women - Gabrielle Murphy on tenor sax & the singer Emily Braden. We'll be back!
Mintons was a great experience, and a very chill vibe. The wait-staff was very attentive and patient. The cuisine was varied in origin, but all very well prepared and presented. Most notable was the ambiance. The music was great, loud, but comfortable, allowing you to still hold an intimate conversation. I highly recommend Mintons and will be back.
Give it good reviews based on music, ambiance and just overall experience. Unfortunately, I will pass on the food. I ordered a NY Strip steak and should have left that appetite for a steak house- not Mintons. Other than food, music was great.
Love the food, the service, the decor and the music!!
