My mom’s m and I had a lovely time. However, the clam-less clam chowder was a disappointment. I couldn’t finish it.
Took my mom here for mother's day and had a great time! The cocktails are well recommended. Tasting menu is a great option. Thanks Trevor!
We didn't receive the regular menu. We only received the "Today's Special" menu. So our food choice was very limited.
We loved.... No ... Adored Melody Betts, what An amazing Singer. She IS blues/jazz. WAUW. Great service
Love love love this restaurant. Highly recommend for a nice evening on the town. Service is excellent. Staff is very attentive. 5 stars.
We happened to be staying in Harlem for the weekend (drove down from Montreal), and thought we'd look for something local for one evening out - and Minton's was a great find. The scene was quiet that evening, but the music was great, & nice to hear a quartet including a couple of strong women - Gabrielle Murphy on tenor sax & the singer Emily Braden. We'll be back!
Mintons was a great experience, and a very chill vibe. The wait-staff was very attentive and patient. The cuisine was varied in origin, but all very well prepared and presented. Most notable was the ambiance. The music was great, loud, but comfortable, allowing you to still hold an intimate conversation. I highly recommend Mintons and will be back.
Give it good reviews based on music, ambiance and just overall experience. Unfortunately, I will pass on the food. I ordered a NY Strip steak and should have left that appetite for a steak house- not Mintons. Other than food, music was great.
Love the food, the service, the decor and the music!!
We had an amazing time at Minton's! We came to see the Jake Leckie Quartet play a tribute to the great jazz bassists. The music, drinks, food and service were incredible and it was a perfect evening.
Great food great band!!
Took a while for a table and the band played a short set. The oysters were great but they had a little shell from the shuck. Overall a fantastic place to see a jazz show. Highly recommended.
Excellent way to have spent my 60th birthday with my wife. Excellent venue, wait staff were courteous, attentive, polite while not intrusive. The cuisine was well prepared and had an excellent presentation. Would definitely reccomend to everyone. We will be coming back.
Se had a good tome , music very Nice, good nothing social, atmosphere nice and we had an incoveniant we had to sair more than Thievy minutes to seat.
This was first time visiting and I must say, the musics, food and service were outstanding. We live in CT, so coming into NYC for dinner is a treat. Minton’s didn’t disappoint. We are already making plans to go back.
Great venue. Great jazz
Went here for date night. The live music performance was amazing. The ambience was romantic and the venue was relatively quiet out of respect for the performers. The cocktails were very well made and the food was delicious. I will be coming back for sure.
Food is good but portions are small and the prices are through the roof. Not worth going for dinner
Everything was fabulous - food and service followed by great live jazz. (We had a 6pm Sunday reservation and the band started their set at 7:30 pm). My filet was very tender, very tasty, cooked to perfection. My wife and daughter had excellent fish entrees. The chocolate lava dessert was served warm and ended the meal on an up note.
My fiancé and I came here for our anniversary. We came here last year, and absolutely loved it. This year however we learned it was under new management and there were many changes. The menu is no longer soul food centered. They have a new chef that has made a new menu with ordinary food with very small portions with a very higher price point. They also have a 15 dollar per person fee for the musical performance which we were not informed about until we got there. However the service is still excellent. Overall my experience this year was more expensive yet less impressive. I will sadly not be returning
Food was better than good; drinks were wonderful. Staff was attentive, professional, efficient and even charming. Music was top notch. We were "first timers" but will certainly be back and soon!
A jazz find! The atmosphere and music were fantastic. The food was very average. Next time I will have drinks there and eat elsewhere.
This legendary jazz club has top musicians. A cozy and stylish environment eith a great menu. The service is slow or uneven. A wonderful spot to bring friends or for a date
we really enjoyed the evening, the Food was great: we can suggest the lobster Ravioli and the Music amazing
Minton's is a classic jazz club that makes you feel special. It was fun to put on a dinner jacket and be treated like a gentleman. The food and drinks were good and the service was great but we came for the jazz which was excellent. It was intimate and relaxing. We saw a set of Emanuele Tozzi's Quartet and were blown away. He stopped at our table after the set and said hi and was genuine and just a pleasure. Our only complaint were a few patrons who ignored the quiet rules during the set but the staff settled them down. It was a pure joy. If you are on a budget watch what you order because the bill can sneak up on you. Well worth it, though.
I treated my sister there for her birthday. Honestly, I can't say who enjoyed it the most. The scenery was nice. The food was delicious. The performers was great! The songstress (Lea Anderson) took time to talk and take a picture with my sister. Our server (Brian) was awesome. We had such a good time with the band, we stayed for the 2nd set. We will be back soon.
I was in town as a tourist and found this jewel online. The scenery was relaxing; music was awesome; and the room smelled great. I would recommend to anyone visiting Harlem.
Enjoyed everything about this place from the ambiance to the food. The band was great and interactive with the crowd. Loved it
Great music and the food was a pleasant surprise - my husband and I enjoyed the Ella and Louis chicken and the filet mignon. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a special night out!
Loved it. The live band was awesome!
Lovely ambiance, great music! (And the food was good too).
The music was exciting, but the service less than stellar. I arrived for what was listed as a 9:30 set only to find out it started at 9pm. A bit of a bummer, so I had a drink. When we looked for the waiter, we couldn't find him. As the show was wrapping up, we saw him and beckoned him over. We started to order and he said the kitchen is closed. We were confused, since we had menus and he had taken our drink orders.
He said when the set is over the kitchen is closed. I asked why it wasn't mentioned when our drink orders were taken. Why didn't he come over to say last call. He just shrugged his shoulders and said the kitchen is closed.
We didn't get to experience the food, but now that we know their policy and that the times for the music aren't as listed on their site, we'll give it another try.
My wife and I really enjoyed the live music and fine dining experience while celebrating my wife's birthday. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great date night experience.
Minton's is a historic Harlem jazz spot that still has its chops. The food was good - I had a burger but there were more upscale entrees on the menu that looked good as they went by me to other tables - but you go there for the music, which was excellent. Comfortable well-designed setting, excellent sound, good sightlines. Monk and Miles and Dizzy and Bird played there. Their grit is gone, but you're listening to good music exactly where you should be.
Another fabulous night of great jazz and delicious food at Minton’s. Sunday featured Christopher McBride who always delivers delights on sax and puts together a great ensemble of talented musicians. Minton’s is an intimate personal and high quality musical and culinary experience to share with friends.
I can't tell for other dishes, but the food I had was first class, even by New York standard and I'm French/picky/used-to-great-food. I can't say but from a look it seems to me that their normal/cheaper dishes are more mainstream-good. So if you go, I recommend you don't save a few bucks by not getting the best available, that is kind of the point. Also nice to see reasonably priced wine (nothing spectacular, but well chosen). The ambiance (Monday evening) was quiet and of course the music was very nice (will depend on which evening and band, but generally well curated). I have been in a more busy night and ambiance and band was stellar.
The service is good (attentive but not too imposing, we had plenty of time to enjoy after dinner talk without being bothered by too much activity, sort of laid back while being classy).
Overall: delivers for a fancy occasion when you are ready to spend about 2x of a usual good dinner. You won't regret.
I love Minton's because of the amazing live performances. The drinks are also really good! However, this time I went I found that their menu changed and was rather plain. Their apps look great so I think next time we'll go for drinks and share a bunch of apps as the main plates were just okay for the price. I would still come back because I love the ambiance and the live performances!
Amazing place with great service and fantastic music! I’m not easy to please but job well done!
