Food was low quality. Asked for spicy as per the menu, was served sweet. Overall food was of lower than low quality. The price wise was very expensive. To top it off, mandatory tip was included in the bill.
Will never go again.
We drive an hour to get to this restaurant and have never been disappointed. It is worth the drive. The flavors are amazing!
we had our reservation for 8 and even with reservation had to wait 30 more minutes
Super nice staff. Unique dishes were all delicious. Try the Lotus Root starter. Was amazing. Chili shrimp. Chili lamb and bbq duck.
All was amazing.
Food was good but service could have been better. For example, It’s not good form to bring the entree for one person and then bring the items for other three after ten minutes. It’s better to bring everything together .
Great food with good atmosphere. Service is also nice. They have a lot of vegetarian options. Love their soups and appetizers.
Waiter Prasanta was excellent, very good service, attentive & caring to make sure we had good time from start to finish.
Had a fabulous time at Ming's in Edison, New Jersey. Ganesh, our server, for the evening was amazing. Not only did he help select wonderful dishes for the dinner but completed our evening by surprising my sister In law with a dessert for her birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed and cannot thank Ganesh enough for a wonderful and memorable evening.
Everything was good (food) except ladies restrooms were filthy and smelling. Felt like I️ was in a low class restaurant in india..
I have had professional business dinners here before and the service is friendly, attentive and accommodating, the atmosphere is good and parking is free, plentiful and easy. The food is delicious and portions are generous, with options for Chinese, Thai, and Indian. They have a private room that can accommodate a group of 50, but can be reserved for smaller groups as well and is perfect for business presentations. The prices are so reasonable that I often skip the Prix Fixe option and just let my guests order from the regular menu.
My server was Prasanta, and I cannot say enough good things about him. I will make sure to always request him as my server. He was able to handle my last minute requests for a screen and seating changes, very helpful with the menu, had a great rapport with and did a fabulous job taking care of everyone. I highly recommend this place for any events you may be considering, or even for just a casual dinner out (haven't been for lunch or brunch, so can only comment on dinner).
What a tremendous experience. Prashant took incredible care of us for a birthday lunch we had. He even went next store and bought mithai for me. I’ve never seen such commitment to quality and service as I did today. Thank you to everyone there! What an amazing experience.
We came with my parents and in laws for my husband’s birthday and Ming went above and beyond. We were running late and had to be somewhere else afterwards, so we had a tight timeline. Prasanth let us order right away and brought everything out quickly but without making it feel rushed. He even brought a dessert for my husband after dinner. It really felt like dining at home, everyone was so warm and welcoming. Thanks Prasanth and Ming, we will be back soon!!
We have been coming here for about a decade now and the food continues to be top quality. Everything is fresh and well made and there are so many vegetarian options. Our favorite server, Prashant, is so friendly and accommodating and goes the extra mile to make sure every dining experience is fantastic.
Excellent service, food and great attention to their guests. Wonderful experience as always!
Amazing food service was excellent, would go back anytime
I had a wonderful experience, great taste of food. Will visit again.
Food quality could be improved; for the price and location, not impressive.
We waited 25 min to be seated even after having reservations. Once we did sit down, it took a long time for someone to take our appetizer orders then nearly 30 min before someone came to take our dinner orders and nearly an hour before we were served.
The food was mediocre at best, extremely pricey and he service was lackluster. It's worth noting that we were 3 guests but the table setting was for 2 and wasn't corrected until I asked for utensils.
When it was time to leave, they charged us for 4 people so they could add on the automatic gratuity. I had to ask for clarification and then had it corrected. I don't mind paying a generous tip but it has to be earned.
The food was great, the ambience was great, and the server was really nice. Unfortunately, it just seems like everything took a really long time. We could've seen our server a bit more, but he made it count whenever he was there.
Cauliflower Manchurian is good
Very good restaurant. Nice dining experience. The lotus root is great!
There was no point in getting a reservation, we waited 35 mins to be seated after having an open table reservation. Ridiculous!! Bad service!
I haven't been here in a few years but it's still delicious . Will make sure to come back more often!
We ate at Ming's Friday night - some of the dishes were basil chicken, clay pot seafood, Manchurian chicken, chili lamb, Singapore noodles. All the dishes were outstanding and everything tasted different and distinctive - dishes in some Indian restaurants tend to have the same sauce - Our dining companions were swooning over the pear and cardamom martini and the faloda kulfi for dessert. Faroki, our server, was attentive, friendly and added greatly to our wonderful experience. We're ready to go back!
This was my first time here and I would say it is an Asian-Indian fusion place.
The decor is typical Chinese but the menu shows the relation to the Indian place next door.
Started with the Drums of Heaven spicy wings. They were served Indian Street vendor style shucked into a ball of meat on the end of the bone so no "middle" wing sections in the dish. They were excellent! Spicy and tasty. Cooked to perfection.
For the main course we went with a vegi fried rice and the Chili Lamb. The lamb was a wonderful fusion of Indian marinated Lamb stir fried Asian style with chilis.
To wash down all that spice was some more spice! The handcrafted Chili Margherita was spicy and delicious.
I would recommend.
Excellent service and food. Will recommend friends and family to try out the cusine.
Amazing food! Never disappoints
Love the crispy lotus app, the chilli paneer and hakka noodles.
Service - our server was good and attentive when he could be, it was busy and didn't seem like there was a rule to the assignment of tables. But our server was intelligent, hard working and very helpful. Other servers didn't seem as great and hard to get anyone's attention unless the manager told them to help. There is also free kimchi at the beginning as a cleanser, but we didnt get any until we asked the manger what it was and he got us some. The food was not great today. Usually it is great and i love the lotus root as my fave dish ever, but today it was thick cuts deep fried and gave us both really bad stomach aches. The bf also had chicken lettuce wraps which he said were very bland and the chicken mixture not very warm and he didnt finish due to the ache. We wanted to stay for entrees but the stomach aches made us end the meal early and we left due to the not good food.
The toilets were not functional.
Food seems to be dropping in quality especially for the people prices. Service was lousy. Had to get up several times to go find our waiter just to put in food order. Forgot several items. Loved the place in the past, but going down hill quickly.
Ming is an Indo Chinese restaurant. If you go there looking for Chinese food, you may be in for a very different experience. Indo Chinese food has a distinct Indian bend to Chinese food. This lends a very different set of tastes to the Chinese dishes that you may be surprised by. For us Ming was a pleasant dining experience with a good set of choices in all sections. Most of the choices were tasty. the service is excellent. The Coriander soup had a great byte and was a great starter. The shrimp starters were done well. So were the main courses. The one miss was the Vegetarian Manchurian which I thought did not seem fresh. The dessert choices are mundane and could use some work. But they do not distract from the main courses.
Very good food. We are there two times in the last two months and each dish was very tasty. The price is a little steep, but the food is worth the price. The service is quite good as well.
Portions have gotten smaller, especially the appetizers
This Indian-Chinese restaurant has been around for a long time, though this is only my second visit there. The food was outstanding in its taste, and the server was friendly. As far as value goes, I feel the food was overpriced for the quantity that was given. The other thing I did not like, is that an 18% service charge is added to the bill automatically - this is stated on the menu. I normally would give at least an 18% tip and I was OK with the 18% service charge, but the server told me before I paid the bill, that the service charge is not a tip, and that the servers do not get the money from the service charge - he expected me to add a tip on top of the 18% service charge! That made me feel very uncomfortable, because I did not want to pay a tip on top of the 18% service charge, and especially since I had my family with me. Note: The server sensed my discomfort with his suggestion, and conceded that Ming was a good place to work, and that they paid the servers good salaries. I feel the restaurant should train their serving staff not to ask for a tip over and above the 18% service charge.
Service was attentive throughout most of the meal though the server disappeared when we needed to get the check. We kept trying to wave someone down desperately for about 10 minutes. It was odd because service was so good and appetizers and entrees were timed appropriately. My server even volunteered to bring me a sample of a spicier sauce from the lobster entree I ordered to make sure it wasn't to spicy for me. It was sweet but unnecessary. The papaya salad was good...I had it before and it was just as good. My daughter had the pineapple rice...it was served in a hollowed out pineapple. Fun and different.
Best Indian Chinese! All of us crave tastes from home. We go to Ming's when We want Indian Chinese. We had the lotus stem appetizer and it was excellent. The Sichuan lamb was a treat as was the cumin lamb. Ming's vegetable fried rice was so good, I wish American Chinese restaurants made theirs the same way.
Service was friendly, not obtrusive. Better lighting would be nice.
We went to Ming's expecting "Indian Chinese," but the food did not have distinctively Indian flavors. The server was remarkably attentive and had valuable suggestions as we selected our dishes. We found the drinks to be especially good, and don't pass up the sweet corn soup. Ambiance was family-oriented, so noise level was a little higher than most "night-out" options.
