Black Label burger lived up to expectations. The meat was juicy, flavorful, and rich, and it did not need embellishments. Fries were also good.
Chocolate soufflé was a great way to end the meal; inside was thick molten chocolate, paired with the fluffy top layer. It was luxurious and decadent and delicious.
Service was very friendly.
Excellent all around. Cote du boeuf was unreal.
Mattt the Bartender was accommodating and very entertaining as well.
Went there for brunch last Sunday and the restaurant is as good as ever. The black label burger is still the star but our French toast and salmon appetizers were fabulous. Service was great. I love this place and couldn't recommend it either enough
Wonderful birthday experience
Minetta Tavern had a lively upbeat vibe. I absolutely recommend reserving a table before you go because its "very crowded"! The staff was very friendly and warm. We ordered the black label burger & the bone marrow and we were not very impressed. But think its a lively fun place to go to after a play or show.
Amazing food, great drinks, and excellent service.
Great burger! Definitely one of the best in the city. Very old school bar with lots of wood benches and chairs.
Visiting Minetta is always a good experience for food and bar scene.
Actually here on a date with my husband after the theatre. It is absolutely crowded and noisy but the staff are ever-attentive so we got drinks and hung out and were seated on time. Got a corner banquette so we’re not too crowded. There’s little elbow room but you don’t feel like you are in the next diners’ laps as long as nobody is overweight!
Caved in and had their super special burger which was DELICIOUS. And they got ‘black & blue’ exactly right. Decent wine selection by the glass (too tired to drink too much!) and we enjoyed spying on the other diners, of all ages and dress codes
Nice, old-school place with good atmosphere and a killer burger.
You can have a reservation but don't expect this establishment to be on top of it. You'll stand around until they feel like sitting you. The food is mediocre at best. The wait and bar staff are excellent, it's the management and greeter/reservation folks who will make you decide to never come back.
Good service , great burger
Bone marrow, bone marrow, bone marrow!!!
This restaurant never ceases to disappoint. Burger is perfection and service is terrific.
Lovely "Old-School" feel. Good cocktails and classy setting. I had a burger for lunch and it was delicious.
Not only a great restaurant, not only a great service and absolutely not only a nice meal, Minetta is remarkable for being an experience in NYC.
It should’nt be a Michelin restaurant. It is only a very expensive french bistro who cannot cook a steak and serves fries, which is not homemade!
Me and the rest of the company went from there feeling nursea.
Aside from the service being terrible to start, our food did come out quickly once we finally got to order. I have been waiting quite a while to try the famous burger but ended up slightly disappointed. I love onions, but this was stuffed with way too many and it overwhelmed the beef taste. The avocado toast was very delicious and the fresh salsa was the perfect touch. However, I came for the burger.
We were visiting New York and chose Minetta because we’d read rave reviews about the burgers AND because we’d heard it was a great place to spot the occasional celebrity. We had reservations on a Friday night at 5:30.
Minetta has an incredible ambience with lots to look at, but it is very small, and there were just a couple inches between our table and the one next to us. In fact, in order for the lady sitting next to me to use the restroom, they had to pull her table out so she could get out.
We were mixed on the food. I enjoyed my cheeseburger tremendously, but the fries seemed stale and were similar to what you’d get at McDonald’s. My husband felt like his $33 burger was way overpriced and that the quality beef didn’t translate well into a burger (he would have liked it better in a steak). Our daughter had the Pasta Za Za, which she liked at first, but she didn’t end up finishing it because the sauce started to make her feel nauseated.
We definitely enjoyed the people-watching and eavesdropping, though we didn’t see any celebrities to speak of. The guy at the table next to ours was telling his companion that he was one of the probably 10% of people in the room who had actually been BORN in Manhattan. (Um, okay. Congrats, dude.)
This place is an upscale hangout for wealthy people and is tremendously fascinating, but we didn’t really feel intimidated. I’d recommend it! But if you’re on a tight budget, it IS pretty expensive.
Great, attentive service and an overall unforgettable experience.
The burger is absolutely amazing. The bistro is very traditionally french (very few vegetables or greens, but great meat), and the quality of food and service is exceptional. I would highly recommend Minetta Tavern if you are looking for a traditional french lunch or dinner.
I saw this restaurant on a television show and they highlighted the Côte de Boeuf. We went for lunch and opted for the Black Label Burger with bone marrow appetizer and pots du creme for dessert.
Oh my! The bone marrow was beyond amazing. We ordered the burger medium rare and it came out on the rarer side, but it tasted like prime steak on a bun. The pots du creme (three flavors) were creamy and delicious.
DO make a reservation. We were there on a Friday for lunch (12:00 reservation), There was a line out the door that started at 11:30 and we needed that reservation since it was full.
La mejor hamburguesa que he probado!!
Birthday dinner with my girlfriend
Good food, and relaxed atmosphere.
Such a fun place. 6pm on a Tuesday was packed! Food was delicious. We got the moules frites, filet mignon, and Caesar salad. Everything was superb. Server was very nice but I think she was having an "off" night... she gave my husband a glass for his beer that was dirty with old beer in it.. kinda gross.
Fantastic in every way. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid in the 70s and it’s the same place but elevated and the food is outrageously good. Fantastic service. Yes it’s noisy but I enjoy the action. The bar is a gorgeous speakeasy style room. Banquettes line the wall. Hard to get a reservation so book early! You will not be disappointed.
Cramped, intimate, original, recommendable!
Excellent food and the ambience is great
Delicious food, great service. Worth the price so it’s great for a celebration.
Best burger in NYC .
Very, very noisy. Fish was good, but mussels were bland and snails plain, no taste, and dry..no juice. Soufflé was good.
We’ll not go back.
Nice decor, great ambiance, very good service, unfortunately I wasn't impressed by their brunch.
Always great food and ambiance! Our server was very nice. This time we came to the restaurant it was so hot and was hard to enjoy.
Everything was perfect except for when my husband asked for some sauce for his steak they were extremely rude and condescending about it. It’s not unheard of to ask for steak sauce and when you’re paying for a 65 dollar steak you should be able to eat it however you like. When they did bring a sauce it was delicious and perfect. Just wish the rude attitude didn’t come with it
The food was great and so was the service ... I would highly recommend it.
Amazing food - had the bone marrow and signature burger. Great drinks. Sit at the bar and be served by the most wonderful bartender: Matt.
Best burger, good steak.
