This is one of our favorite places for fine dining in Sioux Falls. Love the atmosphere, food is good…although it has increased in price (which is probably due to the pandemic ). Had a great waiter!! We will definitely be back!!
Won't ever go again. Took almost 20 minutes to get 1st drink a Stuffed Olive Martini. Problem was no olives in drink. Server brought olives when already had finished drink. Dare I say clueless server. Walleye was so thin more breading than meat. Lemon Butter Salmon had no noticeable lemon or butter. Best part of both meals was potato skin.
Boring review but great dining experience like every time I eat here.
We had excellence service by our waiter. Food was very good and the booth we had was quiet and comfortable.
Food was fantastic. Service was fantastic. Great atmosphere. Salad bar add on is much too expensive.
I much preferred when you could order a steak and add salad bar for $4.00 before covid.
I realise they added sandwich bar. But preferred old salad bar add on option.
COVID has changed the prices - somewhat to be expected. But the food was still outstanding and it was a treat to eat here. Highly recommend even if we have to pay more.
After COVID, they're back on their game. This was our first visit, and we'd both recommend, and repeat!!
Great as usual!!
This jewel of a restaurant continues to stand the test of time. It’s been 20 years since I’ve been here. Our server, Barb, is a seasoned asset. She and the bartender prepared my martini perfectly. The Canadian Walleye was off the chart; paired with white cheddar mashed potatoes. Find the perfect table and ask the staff for a table number. Request it in your reservation. Go. Make it a staple stop when in downtown.
Usual very good food, drinks, service. Nothing outstanding, just reliable. Had Halibut special - very good; spouxe had prime rib - excellent. Not for a person who expects to eat a full meal for under $20.
My husband loved the prime rib. The roasted duck was very good, as was the kid’s meal (mac and cheese). I appreciated the nice fruit side option and they appreciated the ice cream that was included.
Always great food, ambiance and service. Taking care with Covid protocol
Seated in back of restaurant by the kitchen entrance. Lots of noise, heavy traffic of waiters going to and fro, etc. Food was good and we enjoyed the meal.
Great ambience and delicious food! We will for sure be back!
Food was great, service was a little slow but good.
Great spot! Don’t miss it!!!
Business dinner while in town visiting and had a lovely experience. Enjoyed the meal and the salad bar is fantastic.
Great food and great service!! Our server Heather was excellent!
Our server was excellent--efficient and unobtrusive.
Excellent service and food. It was a also nice to see other friends who work there and those who were dining there.
Very nice...dim and cool. Great service....food was excellent.
The service was amazing. Our server seemed to have eyes in the back of her head!! The servings were large enough that we had another meal from our left overs. The food was tasty and we both enjoyed our meals
My choice for the entrée was the Prawns and pasta. Cant remember the correct menu name. Anyway, after the meal i had such an insatiable thirst and I didn't even use salt or pepper on my meal. I am left to wonder if there was MSG usage??. If so, that is just not acceptable in my opinion. I wil be back but, if there was MSG usage, it needs to stop .
As always, the food and ambiance at Minerva's were both outstanding.
However, we had informed the staff that we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with them and nobody said a word to us about that. Disappointing.
Also, we weren't even close to being finished with our salads when our hot entrees arrived at our table. That is REALLY a pet peeve of mine. Especially at a first rate, classy place like Minerva's. So we saved out salads until after we had finished our entrees. Better than nothing, but still, not good.
But the biggest letdown was not being appreciated for choosing to celebrate our 40th anniversary with Minerva's. It's a pretty big milestone for us and we felt like we were shrugged off.
People raved about the salad bar but the pasta salads were mediocre. The meats, cheese and dressings were good. The chicken Oscar was a disappointment, chicken was rubbery. Presentation was very good though.
We have been dining at Minerva’s for almost 20 years. The food and service are consistently excellent.
Meal and service were terrible. I had one of the specialties which should be the best they can do. I think my potato was actually cooked last week some time and the lobster poked inside it was un tastable. There were so many more options you could have done to make that a great dish. Even the carrots were very woody. Also my wife food was cold and looked like it had sat in the window for ever. The water girl was the best part of the whole experience.
Made a reservation and glad we did even though it was a Monday night. We were traveling and stayed nearby on a very hot day. Food was good and service good. Salad bar was open and looked delish but I wasn’t ready for that yet. I had the salmon. Very good.
Our Server, Louis was fabulous, atmosphere a little dark to try to read the menu. The Wedge salad and soup we shared and they even split the salad for us at no extra charge. The "Salmon Oscar" was fabulous, my husband had the "Bison Ribeye Steak" it was prepared the way that he asked it to be prepared however it was very grizzly and tough. We will definitely be back, however, my husband would choose something else.
Minerva's was a great spot downtown Sioux Falls and the food was great, good selection and well prepared. Easy walk from our hotel and the staff was attentive and loved my bison ribeye and the mashed potatoes. The wedge salad was large and had plenty of bacon and tomato.
First time there. Loved the atmosphere, food & the salad bar was elegant!
The fried beef tips were well seasoned, tender, and not greasy, so yum. The bisque was creamy and had an awesome flavor, but with 2 little scraps of a shrimp-what? It's Copper River salmon season and they had an awesome special. The salmon baked with cranberries, red onions, ... delicious! If you are not a fish eater, this is the best salmon in the world-not fishy- just try it. The Bison ribeye was the star of our dinner. Perfectly cooked medium rare, with mild seasoning -juicy and tender. Our drinks were extremely sweet and very expensive. $17_ for a shot of Bourbon-if price matters, be sure to ask what things cost.
I read a review from a woman who said the food was served cold. Didn't sound right to me, and so many of the other reviews were positive. We were in town on business and decided to give it a try. Interior is very nice, kind of old world, gas light charm. The server was sweet and attentive. I had a salad, ribeye steak, with a side of cognac mushrooms and the cheddar mashed potatoes. The salad was okay, nothing great. The steak was served lukewarm, not hot, and both the mushrooms and potatoes were between cold and lukewarm. We were hungry and tired and I didn't want to make a fuss so we ate our dinner and left, but we will not be coming back. Also, I ordered a martini. The pours are puny. So if you want a whole martini order two. My wife wanted her salmon poached. They said no can do. She had it grilled. It was okay but not great.
We were very pleased with the ambiance and it suggested a fine dining experience. Our server did a good job and provided us with a complimentary birthday treat, since we were celebrating that night. The food just didn't measure up to expectations. It was good quality, bu t lacking in flavor.
Sebastian was so helpful. I had to call because we were running a little late. He has excellent telephone and customer service skills. I was impressed!!
The food was exquisite. It was tasty with plentiful portions. Our waiter Mike was excellent. The service was timely and friendly.
Our experience was wonderful and I would highly recommend Minerva's to all!! It couldn't have been better. A fine dining experience!!
Great Service Great Food Everyone was friendly service was prompt food tasted great dessert was delicious
Food was alright, however, when paying 20$ and often more it needs to be a little more than alright.
