Minerva's - Sioux Falls Ratings and Reviews
Always enjoy dining here. Even on Valentine's day. I had the walleye dinner and it wasn't very good. It seemed pre prepared for the rush so I can forgive that. All in all a little off. Menu wasn't as interesting as the ad suggested. Underwhelmed is the best I can say. I will still come back.
Our favorite place to celebrate! There are 11 ladies in our birthday lunch Club and we often go to Minervas. The food is excellent. Most of us just get the salad bar because it is everything you could ever want and the soups are amazing! Each one of us gets a special birthday dessert, not just the birthday girl. 😊 It is such a fun place to celebrate your birthday. The waitress was more than helpful in dividing our checks out and her accuracy was impeccable.
My husband and I love Minerva's! This was our 3rd date night here and we always get dressed up and have a "fancy" date night when we go. There is a good variety on the menu without offering everything under the sun - and what they make, they make well. Fantastic wine and alcohol selection. We have always had outstanding service. And dessert! Save room for the crème brule!
The service was excellent and the atmosphere was generally very nice. There was a baby crying, so that was a bit distracting. The salad bar was as amazing as ever--we all remarked about how it is the best in the region. The seafood crepe used to be my favorite, but the recipe has changed in recent years (we don't get to Minerva's more than once a year) and it was a disappointment. The other meals met expectations. As it was a birthday celebration, we were given some complimentary cake & ice cream--a very nice finish to the meal.
The food was fantastic and the "famous" salad bar lived up to its name. While the service wasn't poor, it was a little slower than we liked. We waited a while for our server, for our drinks, bread. We ordered a cocktail before we ordered, but our server never approached us about another. We'll dine here again and hope the slowness was a fluke.
We were told we could change our reservation from 8:15 to 7:30 which was great but then we were asked if a private room would be ok when we arrived. I agreed but wished I had not. We were stuck in a tiny room with a round and square table put together. Just not what I had expected I guess for the ambience I wanted. Everything else was good. Waitress did a nice job and the food was good.
For years we’ve been going to Minerva’s. It’s been our favorite place to dine. Since they had a special Mardi Gras menu, my husband decided to have the jambalaya. We have Louisiana friends, have had it at their home, and even have their recipe, and have eaten it in the South. This wasn’t anything like how it is made there. Very disappointing! I had Salmon, which was excellent, but the mashed potatoes served with it were cold and dry. We were treating the other couple, as it was a birthday. I don’t know how they felt about their food. But this was clearly not up to Minerva’s standards.
I took my son there for his 13th birthday while I was on a business trip. The food was good. I heard a lot about the salad bar, but I wasn't all that impressed with it. There were a lot of "salads", cheese and soup, but a little light on the vegetables to make a salad. It was good, but not worth the extra money for the salad bar.
The service was very good and the meal was tasty. The ambiance was enjoyable and the tiramisu was amazing!
Minerva's never disappoints. The service is impeccable, and the food is the best in Sioux Falls. Even on a busy Friday night, our server made us feel special, and the restaurant stayed quiet enough for us to carry a conversation without yelling or straining to hear. Bottom line: If you want an unforgettable dining experience that you'll be raving about for days, Minerva's is your place.
We have traveled extensively, enjoying many fine restaurants. We have always felt that Minerva's ranked above 90% of other restaurants nationally, especially for the salad bar and moderate pricing. The ambiance and table staff were outstanding. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere. And upon arriving, the hosts/hostesses were well-appointed, knowledgeable, and unfailingly courteous and helpful. We are constantly amazed that such an outstanding restaurant's flagship is located in Sioux Falls, SD
We drove to Sioux Fall from New Mexico. We moved to New Mexico 8 1/2 years ago. Before that we always went to Minerva's on New Years Eve with 3 other couples. We contacted them, and we all met again after 9 years. The staff was wonderful and we had an amazing meal and visit with our friends. It was wonderful. We even were seated at the same table we had 9 years ago. Amazing.
