Minerva's - Rapid City
Minervas has been an icon for outstanding food and impeccable service. Guests rave about the diversely delicious menu, featuring everything from in-house aged steaks to ocean fresh seafood to classically authentic pasta.
Minervas’ highly regarded reputation continues to make the restaurant a favorite for celebrating special occasions. We've also served our share of famous visitors including presidents, movie stars, musicians, politicians and celebrities.
Outstanding dining experience. Such a pleasure to have a well trained friendly wait staff as well!
They didn’t have our reservation, apparently because their WiFi was down. Guess it happens; but on Open Table? No one is minding this store. Btw, not that good
Great meal. We have been traveling all throughout the area and this was by far the best meal. Very unexpectedly gourmet, especially for a hotel restaurant.
We had a wonderful server who was friendly and prompt, he made recommendations on the menu and was very fast with anything we needed. The food was delicious and well prepared. The ambiance was relaxed and it was quiet and romantic. Overall fast, great service with great food and atmosphere.
Very good food, nice bread and good wine. Waiter was efficient, but not overly friendly. Only real downside for us was sitting outside the very noisy kitchen. Would definitely go back but ask for different seating.
Just a wonderful dinner and amazing food. Service was excellent.
Great food! The salad bar is more than worth it, you can make a whole meal out of that alone, totally worth the extra to add it to your meal! Food took a while to come out but everything was very good and they were sweet and accommodating for my grandmothers birthday. Overall, fantastic place!
Food was nothing exceptional. we had the walleye good but very greasy. We tried calling ahead for reservation but no one answered the three times i called. Walked in and no one at the front desk. One girl was eating behind a kitchen entrance and came out and was totally unprepared. We realized that new shift was coming on and it was early 4:30/5:00 dinner; but really if you advertise your open then be ready! very disappointed.
We have eaten here 3 or 4 times. We have always enjoyed our meals here and the service is always friendly and fantastic.
Hotel Dining. Rude bartender. Very nice hostess. Dead. Done.
We had booked Minervas because we looked at reviews and the menu. We were in the mood for a good steak house, and before we came we had eyed a great steak and some shrimps.
Unfortunately, neither their website nor their reservation warned us that the lunch menu would not be available on Sundays. So we were super disappointed when they told us we could only have brunch buffet and that we were not able to order from the lunch menu.
The service was friendly but very slow. We had to ask for simple requests such as soup bowls etc.
The buffet was half empty and didnt seem so fresh any more since we arrived at 1245 pm and the brunch ends at 2 pm.
The omelet chef was super friendly and did a good job.
The bathrooms are really far away and you have to pass the bar. Not very suitable for children to have to pass the bar which was full of bikers looking evil at non whites.
Booked a table through open table, when we arrived they did not have our reservation. They were, however, able to seat us quickly. Food was very good, service was average.
Was not ready for a motel dining room.
The food here is outstanding. I can never eat here enough. Dining like the old days, elegant and relaxing.
Great food and employees. In our group we had multiple steaks, and everyone loved them. The salad bar was first class.
Excellent restaurant. The food and service are reliably great.
Great food and presentation. Server was most helpful and pleasant. Would definitely go back.
Traveling from CA. Read about this place on another social media site... good reviews.
Don’t you just hate it when you spend a lot of money for steak and it’s not cooked to order (my case overcooked), no taste because of lack of seasoning (menu described it as spiced), and they put the burnt part face down on the plate ( like you are never going to see or taste the burnt; so, it’s ok to hide it)? Always a disappointment when the cost of the meal doesn’t meet expectations.
The salad bar was ok... nice option. The ambiance was nice, but it didn’t make up for a basically, very disappointing meal.
I do not recommend this restaurant.
Varied menu, good location, good service. Enjoyed crock of onion soup with lettuce wraps.
Obviously the hostess did not tell a server that we were there. After 10 minutes, I asked a person at a nearby table if he was our server. His reply was, I could be. There after he was very prompt and attentive. Very impressive menu, the food did not quite live up to the anticipation.
This was one of the worst meals I have ever had for this level of restaurant. Of our 4 steaks, only two were cooked correctly. Of those two, one was cold. One that was supposed to be medium was well done (so well done it was hard to cut). One that was supposed to be medium well was rare. We sent the two improperly cooked back and it took 30 minutes to redo them. The one bacon wrapped filet that was redone came back as a sirloin. The quality of the meat was reprehensible for Minerva’s. One couldn’t even be eaten. I have dined numerous times at Minerva’s in Sioux Falls (outstanding) and occasionally at Minerva’s in Yankton, Aberdeen, and Watertown (all very good). This establishment does not deserve the Minerva’s name. While our server was good, a manager never came to speak with us about the problems. Completely disappointed!!!
Don’t let them put you in the back room. You will not be able to have a quite meal with your family. It’s less noise at a fast food playhouse with kids
The two if us having prime rib both thought it was just average or below average. No flavor. No au juice.
Decent food and good service for a restaurant that is part of a chain. Seafood result of most particularly nice but the salad is a bit average.
I took 10 people there for dinner and it was very good and a very varied menu. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Other big tables came in, but the noise level was still good. We asked that the music be turned down when we were alone in the room at the beginning and it was and the heat was turned up. It was a great dining experience.
Pleasant staff, Daniel was charming. Food came fast, was fresh and perfectly cooked. Had we been staying in the hotel, they offered us our wine glasses to finish our bottle in our room.
Service and restaurant are nice but the food is definitely subpar for the price.
Delicious holiday brunch buffet set up in a hotel conference room. Loads of delicious food options with plenty of space for tables, buffet stations and room to move around. A little bit pricy, but great for a special occasion.
We were a group of 8 and the last reservation of the night. The service and the food were exceptional! We so appreciated not feeling rushed a d thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
We had a wonderful time at Minerva's this past Sunday. We were seated in a nice dining room with a couple other groups. Hardly knew anyone else was in the room. Our server was very pleasant and helpful.
Everyone enjoyed the selections from the Buffet. We all ate to much.
We will definitely come again.
Will definitely come back. The seafood risotto was Devine.
We always enjoy dining at Minerva's. We go there frequently. This time we were entertaining friends. They enjoyed it very much. Terry was our server. She did an excellent job.
Fast friendly accommodation, great seating, outstanding brunch menu, will return.
Food way over priced. Medium well steak was served rare. Salad bar was skimpy. Service was not good. Place was fairly empty except for loud partying in the bar and out server was real slow and non attentive to our table. For the price they charge, the server ought to be johnny on the spot. Better service and food at Olive Garden. Unfortunately, this is a company issue as they own Red Rossa in Pierre and the same issues exist over there.
Another great dining experience at Minervas. Only down side was that it appeared that a lot of extra tables had been added for the evening we were there, making it extremely noisy and very close to other diners. Food on the special menu was fantastic.
The filet was delicious and tender and the salad and potato were also very satisfactory! The waitress was also very good. No complaints here!
There was quite a delay in seating, even with a reservation. Was between 30-45 minutes late being seated. It was understood, being the day it was, but seemed excessive, still. The food and service were great. Roses were handed out to all the women, but mine didn't get one. Maybe ran out? Overall, satisfied, and will consider it as a destination for future special occasions with my lady.
Our server had a dull personality, slow and food was horrible
We sincerely appreciate all aspects of the food, service, and management at Minerva’s Rapid City. The wait staff display real care with your food order and dining experience.
Thank you, Danny, Niko and Nate!!
Day out with the family, always a great place to come back to.
