Mimosa Grill Ratings and Reviews
Service was good and food was well-prepared but way overpriced! I paid $62 for a steak, potatoes, shared appetizer, and glass of wine. Crab cake appetizer was outstanding. Steak had some funky seasoning which I was not fond of and only came with a few fingerling potatoes. Thought portions were extremely modest for the price. Salads and sides were ala carte. May try lunch to see if better value but won't be back for dinner unless someone else is paying!
This was a special place, and I was glad we chose it. The only thing that kept my rating from being outstanding in every category was the service. Our server was perfunctory - did she think two women would not be good tippers? She might have been surprised. We thought maybe she was having a bad day, but then we heard her enthusiastic greeting and interactions with the table behind us where there were several men in the party. I would dine here again and give it another chance.
This was our second brunch at Mimosa Grill. The location near Bank of America Stadium provides a convenient pregame dining option.
We were promptly greeted by very friendly staff at the hostess station and seated immediately. Our waitress was pleasant and very knowledgeable. She was attentive but not intrusive. Normally, I do not care for buffet meals, but Mimosa Grill brunch is the exception. The food quality and variety is very high grade. The presentation was lovely; hot foods were hot, cold foods were cold. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is vibrant.
Mimosa Grill is our pregame go-to!!
All the food we had was amazingly good with just the right ingredients. You can 't get a better dinner for the price in Uptown Charlotte. The Service and atmosphere was great as well, but it is the food that will make you want to make another reservation soon. Try the warm kale salad with just the right Vella cheese, etc. The trout was perfect and the short ribs were great.
This was our favorite! We were in Charlotte (downtown) all week, so we tried a new restaurant every night. Well by the end of the week, we couldn’t resist going back to Mimosa Grill a second time! It was a little loud, but the food was excellent, the service was prompt and courteous, and it was just what we were looking for. If we end up back in Charlotte, you can bet we will be there again. AND don’t miss the banana pudding! The photo is of the hush puppies. Not your mothers hush puppies. The best EVER!
Side salad was incredibly overpriced at $12 and was very small. Dessert was recommended to us and turned out to be the most disappointing part of the meal. We ordered chocolate pecan pie with honey bourbon gelato, what we received was a tiny tart a quarter in high and a diameter smaller than my wrist. My meal was tasty but the shrimp was overcooked. I've come here for lunch a dozen times and loved it but was incredibly disappointed especially because I had recommended we go there for dinner with folks coming from out of town. Also, don't expect to order anything from the lunch menu for dinner. The pecan crusted chicken salad is my favorite but denied because it wasn't lunch time. Our waitress was great and very honest and helpful!
I'll start by saying that Mimosa Grill is my wife's favorite restaurant and one of my favorites as well but this just wasn't their night. We showed up a few minutes early for our reservation and the hostess asked us if we minded sitting in a booth. I figured she was talking about one of the small (& open) two seaters near the kitchen so we said sure - then she proceeded to walk us over to a booth in the bar section, definitely not the romantic atmosphere I was thinking when I booked the reservation earlier in the week. We were both hungry so we sat without comment and looked over the menu.
Service was good but with the bartender for a busy restaurant on a Friday night waiting on you, wasn't as good as it is known for in the main dining section.
I ordered the fried chicken and it was outstanding. My wife ordered the trout and the fish was hot and cooked to perfection as usual, the problem here is that it was perched atop cold mashed potatoes - not warm like they were sitting under a heat lamp but cooler than room temperature. We hate to be 'those people' who send food back but do like to provide feedback for these types of things so the kitchen staff can make the appropriate correction. My wife pointed it out to the bartender who quickly offered replacement. She later comp'd my wife's glass of wine which wasn't expected or necessary but was a nice gesture nevertheless.
So all in all this wasn't our typical Mimosa experience we've come to love, but a so-so Friday night date. We'll be back though, hoping that our latest experience was an off night for them.
Been here several times before and enjoyed this visit the least. Was for my daughter’s birthday. Waitress was not good and somewhat abandoned us for larger tables. Got drink orders wrong and forgot to deliver drinks. When serving wine she stated that she was glad it was a screw cap ($50 bottle) because she didn’t know much about wine. Then proceeded to pour the red wine into the glasses l8ke soda. Did not check on us after food was delivered. Another person came over to “help out” and took our dessert orders. Got parking vouchers but they didn’t work. I hope that this was an off night and not a decline in the overall quality. For 5he cost per person, I expect more quality service.
Friends were in town from Florida and we went Uptown then did dinner at Mimosa (BTW drinks at the Punch Room Ritz Carlton a must!). We've taken out of town friends before and the food is authentic and good. Bar is excellent and service great! Spit a salad and order a full entree. the fish special was excellent!
