Mimmas will be missed by Milwaukee. Best lasagna in town.
This was our last visit to Mimma's. She will be missed. Our final dinner there was as good as our first. William took great care of us. We are looking forward to Mimma's cooking show and watching to see where else she might pop up in the future.
A lot more expensive than we thought it would be.
One of the "Specials" was tilapia. We thought
that maybe a "Special" might be reasonably
priced, but WHOA! It was $27! The price was never given
to us until we got the tab at the end of the meal (we
didn't ask beforehand, which I guess is our fault.)
We were disillusioned, with what we read in the paper--
about Mimma retiring, after cooking for others for so many years.
And, the name included "Cafe", which gives the impression that it is
small and reasonably priced.
I suspect, that when Mimma retires, she will live VERY comfortably.
The absolute best part of the meal was our server (I think his name was Mark.)
He was very attentive, and made our experience more enjoyable.
(btw three drinks, an appetizer,,two meals and tip cost us $96--a little
steep for our tastes--being blue collar workers.)
This was my first time at Mimmas and it was amazing. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was amazing!
It's very sad that one of Milwaukee's finest is closing at the end of the year. But the food and service is all was excellent and this establishment will be missed. Thank you for another rest meal and memory.
Mimmas is closing NYE 2016, so get in now before it's too late. Best Italian food in Milwaukee, tragliatelle alla favorita is amazing!
Mimma's Cafe has always been excellent. I am sorry to see it go. Good luck to everyone at Mimma's Cafe in whatever comes next in your life.
Hate to see it go! 😥Always one of our favorites!
This is a Milwaukee treasure. Too bad you only have until New Year's Eve to enjoy this great restaurant one more time. God bless you Mimma. You too are a Milwaukee treasure.
Just wasn't a good experience, service and food were not good.
I ordered a fish dish without the flour dusting and it came out very overdone, Inedible. The waiter then proceeded to blame me saying he told me it wouldn't be as good and it was my fault that the order was dry. Very unprofessional. They removed the charge but he was unpleasant to deal with the entire meal.
WHAT A GRAND EVENING. WE HAVE BEEN MIMMA FANS EVER SINCE RETUERNING FROM COOKING SCHOOL IN Tuscany AND THE SCHOOL RECOMMENDED MIMMA'S. WE DID NOT NOTIFY THEM IN ADVANCE THAT WE WERE CELEBRATING AN ANNIVERSARY AND A CONDO PURCHASE BUT MIMMA GRACIOUSLY OFFERED A MARVELOUS DESSERT TO END THE EVENING. WE LOVED HAVING WILL AS OUR WAITER. I WILL BE SAD TO SEE SUCH A FINE RESTAURANT CLOSE.
Perfect as usual. I will be so sorry to see this close at the end of the year.
As usual, excellent food. The lighting and table spacing is also great for private conversations.
We lucked out on the Saturday night we were there... Mimma herself was cooking and our selections were absolutely delicious. A true traditional Sicilian foodie experience! Our server was delightful, extremely informative, attentive and fun! A wonderful dining experience! We'll most definitely dine there again before Mimma retires!
Our waiter clearly didn't want to be there or wait on us. He started walking away before we were finished ordering. The food was ok, but the waiter really rubbed us the wrong way.
Perfect as usual. I can count on this restaurant for a wonderful evenings with friends or family.
Outstanding! As always! We're coming back before it closes. Get there before it does! You'll regret not having had the experience!!
Very charming place in a cozy neighborhood with folks out walking and riding bikes even on a chilly October evening. The food was delicious, and service was polite and attentive. If I'm in Milwaukee again, I will return!
The food was absolutely fabulous. Mimma was in the kitchen doing what she does best... cook! We had three of specials and they were so tasty.
