Would be great on a warm day, near water and easy to walk in neighborhood
A Sunday evening. Not crowded. A few rowdy patrons at the bar rail. The waiter came back after I order to clarify my side dish. When my meal came the side was wrong. I wasn't asked if I liked the food until the main portion was finished and all that was left was the wrong side. The side was replaced and I took it with me. It did not reheat well. The meal would have been much more enjoyable for me if I had received what I ordered. The mistake was magnified by the fact the server confirmed the order and still brought the wrong side.
This was our first time at Milwaukee Sail. The location is great, ambiance is also good, service was a bit off but with employee shortage not bad. I had blacken mahi-mahi and it was great would order again, my wife had broiled mahi-mahi and she did not finish it because it was dry so did not care for her dinner.
Food great service excellent we will be back
The food was great, there were four people in our party and we all enjoyed the appetizers and the meals. Amy, our server provided us with great service. This was our second time there and we would go there again if it wasn’t for our long drive! I would highly recommend it!
Excellent moderately priced seafood restaurant, on the water... Excellent clam chowder, and really good lobster roll
Great seafood and view! Service and drinks we’re ok.
Host, bartender and server were all very kind and helpful. Bartender recommended a new appetizer (mussels) that weren’t on the menu yet. They were fantastic. Our server knew the menu well and made helpful suggestions. The server was aware that we needed to leave at a certain time to attend a play and he made it happen! Overall, very impressive!
The food was awful. The service was amazing
Visited after reading reviews. Server was good but not impressed with menu or food. Decided just to try appetizers first. Crab cakes tastie enough but very small. Shrimp cocktail shrimps were also small & tasteless. Didn't dare order an entree.. Not the quality I would have expected. Love & know my seafood. I can't recommend this spot. Sorry, just being honest.
The food was great, but our server, Blake, was amazing! He was so attentive and made some great recommendations. We had a table outside and enjoyed the beauty of the the water.
Our server was really great, he didn't rush us at all & was attentive.
The appetizers were good but our main meals were not that great.
The blackened mahi had a good seasoning to it but the fish itself was overcooked & dry. The seafood diablo was not warm & not very flavorful. You know it's not good when you need hot sauce to help it out!
Overall we were less than thrilled with the food. Knowing how tough the restaurant business has been we didn't want to make a big deal out of it but we probably won't be back. It was $$$ for a less than stellar meal. Great location, fun atmosphere but the kitchen has to do better.
Our server was excellent, I wish I had his name. Bar was backed up so he made me a wonderful Lemon Drop. Food was so good. I had blackened mahi-mahi. Very nicely done. Parking was pretty easy and worked well for pre-symphony dinner.
Enjoyed the view and the food. Would recommend
The restaurant was closed when we arrived on time on the 4th of July, even though Open Table confirmed and re-confirmed our reservation. Extremely disappointing. We had to scramble to find another restaurant.
Great people watching, great ambiance. The group enjoyed the food and staff.
Food is delicious! Made a reservation through open table and noted we wanted to be close to a tv for the Bucks game and they did just that for us. We went outside to play bags and that was fun, the outdoor bar was open as well! Must try the ahi tuna as an entree or tuna for appetizer- both were fabulous! Only negative thing was we came in from the dock and there was no step to get into the patio area-A server told us it was getting replaced soon
Overall great experience!
Our food was perfectly prepared and delicious!!! Portions were a bit small for the price on the Chilean Sea Bass but it WAS melt-in-your-mouth tasty and fabulous. Our service was excellent and the vibe on the riverfront patio deck was part of a great summer highlight!
Everything was perfect for our department dinner. The appetizers , the drinks, our dinners...all amazing. We had hoped to sit outside but Mother Nature did not have the same plan. We all agreed that we will be coming back again so we can sit on the deck outside and watch the boats while we eat. Oh, and do yourself a favor and be sure to order the chocolate chip cookie sundae...it was delightful!
The Milwaukee Sail Loft is a bit of a mixed bag. Obviously, the location and views outside cannot be missed. Awesome place to meet up with friends and/or family for drinks. The trouble is, the food isn't that great. Both burgers we received were heavily charred, to the point where the acrid taste of burning starts coming out. Lobster roll was the big surprise here as it was very tasty, would order it again. Sides were just OK. Service was good, but not great. Overall, I'd go back for some outdoor drinks and maybe the lobster roll but the rest of it was passable.
The restaurant seemed a bit shabby and needed a good cleaning. Our table was sticky but it could be the sanitizer that left a sticky residue. The appetizers, ahi tuna tower and the snappy shrimp were average. One person in our group got the New England clam chowder and said it was “so, so”. I got the sea bass. It was tiny for the price and over cooked. The brussel sprouts were not as described on the menu and very plain. One person got the fish and chips and loved every bite! The shrimp tacos were fair. Overall, needs a good overhaul throughout and better attention to cook time and details.
Went there only for the brunch on Sunday and they didn’t have it for some event
The Sail Loft is one of the most underrated restaurants in Milwaukee. Food is great and the staff is friendly. Love their soups, salads, seafood dishes, fish fry and burgers.
Waited 75 minutes for our food.
I love the layout, great service and positive atmosphere. Food taste phenomenal.
Food and service was great!! Shout out to our Server, Blake!!
Good food. Service was pretty good.
Food and Service were great! I plan on going back soon.
Food was great, but service was underwhelming.
The place is great but food takes a long time. Don’t go completely starving. Everything else was awesome.
Mother's day was perfect. Thank you!
Our server was super friendly and on the ball. This was the first time taking the family here. Everyone had a great experience. We would definitely come again!
We enjoyed our Mother’s Day lunch at Sail Loft! We felt safe with other tables spaced 6+ feet apart, waitstaff wearing masks...
food was good! We enjoyed our day! Thanks!
We didn’t get enough attention from the server but everything else was great!
Dinner food exceeded expectations. We have had drinks or lunch many times, but this was the first try for a nice dinner. All four were tasty and large. My beer batter cod was light flaky and sweet. Always nice to sit on their patio where the glass panels keep out the wind. Good service and COVID practices.
It was a great day to be out on the water. Unfortunately the service was VERY slow. Waited to order. A half hour after ordering, waitress returned to say they were out of something. We didn’t want to hold everything else up so didn’t order a replacement. Food came about an hour after ordering and the item they were out of miraculously appeared. No attempt was made to make anything better. Probably won’t return.
Fantastic food. Could not have asked for a better meal!
Very good food. Didn’t like that entree didn’t come with a side or fries, etc. you have to buy a side with your main entree. Example: I got the lobster roll but it didn’t come with fries. Great place thought definitely will go back!
