Milton Inn Ratings and Reviews
Somewhat dated hunt country decor. Excellent drinks and wine selection by the glass. Relaxed, unhurried service. Excellent salads which the kitchen split for us to share. The main courses were excellent and cooked to perfection: filet mignon, rack of lamb, tuna, and vegetarian dish. A surprise piece of birthday cheesecake topped off the meal.
We went to dinner on Saturday evening for my finances birthday. From the appetizers to the desserts, we were absolutely wowed on the quality of the food, the generous portions, the preparation, and service provided. Sue had the beef tenderloin tartar and I had cream of crab soup for appetizers. Both were flavorful and nicely spiced. The soup is the best I have ever tasted (many restaurants I have tried their soup), none better. Sue raved about how well the beef tenderloin tartar was prepared. Sue had the sesame crusted tuna and I ordered a rack of lamb for our main dishes. Both were well prepared and the flavor was exquisite. The vegetables and sauces were perfectly prepared. We ordered the flourless chocolate cake to go with a glass of aged Taylor Fladgate port wine. Both were fantastic. This dinner was simply one of the best that we have ever experienced. Please note that we are both foodies. The atmosphere was quiet and very romantic. Hats off to the chef and to our server who was quite attentive to our needs.
We've been here several times, and the Milton Inn never disappoints. I do miss the couches in the bar, though.
The food was just outstanding, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. A great place for a special time with a favorite person or group!
Scallop appetizer was absolutely delicious. Crab soup great as always. Our entrees were very good. Carrot cake was terrible, worst ever. Service was very good. The men at the next table were a bit loud....well, two of them had booming voices that were an intrusion.
This restaurant is in an old stone house built in 1740, and it has the flavor of a two-century old mansion, with elegant period decor. The service is excellent. The food is traditional and very sumptuous, although some diners in our party found the dishes a little on the filling side.k it is definitely a special occasion sort of place.
ANOTHER excellent meal, served by a professional server.
My wife & I shared the Harvest Salad, which was fresh and accompanied by the right amount of dressing. She then had the filet mignon special and I had the salmon. Both were delicious. We shared the peanut butter & chocolate dessert, which was VERY rich.
If you're into martinis I suggest ordering bleu cheese stuffed olives to accompany a dirty martini.
The service was truly fantastic!
We enjoyed the menu for the Milton Inn's 70th Anniversary Celebration, which is available through 2017. The entire bill for several courses plus a bottle of wine or champagne was $130 plus tax and tip, a true bargain! We chose a bottle of excellent champagne. Our amuse bouche was a portion of delectable swordfish. Next was Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail appetizers (3 jumbo shrimp). The main course was a shared Chateaubriand with vegetables and potatoes. The meat was cooked as we asked (medium rare), and was divine! We then finished our dinner with decadent chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. Coffee and chocolates were also included. Everything about the meal was exquisite, and the service was perfect. The room was cozy and old style in a good way. Much recommended! (We took home leftovers which gave us a wonderful second meal.)
I enjoy going to the Milton a few times a year. They are a bit pricey but as the old saying goes most of the time you get what you pay for. My friend and I each got the special of the day which was filet and crab cake with vegetable medley and rebaked mashed potatoes. The only word I can use to describe the food was outstanding. If you use cheater glasses for reading make sure you bring them because with the low light really made it difficult for me to read menu. In closing I always enjoy this place and will return again.
Cozy 1782 Inn with White table cloths, elegant service and beautiful setting. Perfect for a special fall evening with family. My only critique was that our waiter blunted out the menu/specials mechanically, and didn't seem as receptive to menu questions but he was very prompt and diligent.
This is a quaint restaurant that might conjure up the days of old and a road side stop on a long trip by horseback. The seafood with wild mushroom risotto was excellent. The rolls were light, fluffy and crisp on the outside. Wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by the wine prices in this classy restaurant. There was also outdoor seating available. A very special place to dine.
It has been many years since I’ve eaten at the Milton Inn because of moving away from the area. We had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful meal Saturday night with great friends. Each of us enjoyed our meals tremendously and our waiter was excellent and his service and presentation.
Milton Inn is always my "go to" celebration place. The food and service is always good. The waitstaff is professional. The selection of drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts is wide and the preparation is impeccable.
It is my favorite place in the Baltimore area.
WOW!! Is how I have to title my experience at the Milton Inn. The decor and ambience of this establishment was exquisite and tastefully done to enhance the diners experience from the walk into it. The service was awesome and focused on the customer. AND the food was absolutely divine and tastefully prepared. I will visit again and again!!!! Great Job to everyone.
THe Milton Inn offers a classic experience but with a vibrant and distinctive take on a variety of menu choices . the preparations are beautifully presented and are meant to be both visually and palate pleasing. WE found the lunch choices to be diverse and we're both delighted with our choices...a wonderful mushroom torte in phyllo and a Korean prepared pork tenderloin. BOth meals followed a special smoked salmon appetizer that we shared.
Great meal.wonderful quality.
I am not sure why they always tell you about the specials , without mentioning the price, AFTER you have looked at the menu for 15 minutes and have decided . The specials should be printed so one can decide. By the time the last ingredient in the final special is mentioned, I have long forgotten the first special.
