Executive Chef/Owner Brian Boston was named Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland in 2011.Chef Boston has also received many other awards including The Five Star Diamond Award by The Academy of Hospitality Sciences , The DiRoNA Award, and top ratings from Zagat. The Milton was named The Best restaurant in the Counties by The Baltimore Sun . Over the years , the Inn has engendered a legacy of romance and numerous couples have become engaged in its candlelit dining rooms and open air garden terrace. Many return year after year to celebrate!

The anniversary special may be the best value in Batimore. Hopefully they will extend it next year.

We always love the food at Milton Inn. This time I tried the short rib--superb! Looked like a large fillet but had the wine reduction sauce that is delicious, and it was fork-tender. The al dente carrots were a bit too underdone. Potatoes great. Prosecco ahead of time was flat, but our server who was personable was not in the area to ask for a replacement. Husband had seafood cocktail and seafood Andor. He never spoke; just said mmmmm. A lot. I remember years ago asking what kind of water we were drinking and we were told it was tap in re-filled bottles. That bothers me because I wonder how well bottles like that can be cleaned. Overall, I am nit-picking. We go to the Milton Inn for our anniversary, for a quiet December dinner, a lunch, and an occasional groupon dinner. At least 4 times a year for about 30 years. It feels like home!

The food is always excellent with beautiful presentation. They no longer carry the "prix fixe." It always had a good selection. At lunch the selection was too heavy and more expensive but a good value.

Quite disappointing experience. I thought this relic of the past had been updated, but apparently I was wrong. The food options are limited and very over priced. Ambience is fine, but also outdated.

This is an historic building and a fantastic restaurant. The cuisine is extraordinary as is the
impressive wine list. My wife and I went during the holidays and to celebrate our 40th Christmas together and the restaurants decorations, the smell of the real wood fireplace and the cozy rooms, in addition to the culinary elegance and attentive service made for a truly magical evening. This restaurant is a must any time, but is particularly special in December.

Our server Ousmane was friendly, helpful and attentive. We were very happy with his recommendations for wine and entrées. Lamb chops were cooked perfectly, as was everything else. We dined in the main dining room which on a weeknight was quiet enough for cozy conversation.

I have a daily intolerance. I requested that server advise which dishes were prepared without dairy or could be modified to omit all dairy products. Ordered a special, filet and crab cake with bernaise sauce..I asked if it was dairy based and was told it was not. I also inquired as to whether a crab soup was cream based, the server assured me it was tomato based.

Our meals arrived, I suspected the the mashed potatoes contained dairy products and the server asked if cheese qualified. I patiently explained that "dairy" referred to the product bovine mammary glans, including but not limited to cheese, yogurt, milk, cream.... he asked if eggs counted and I asked him if he ever saw a chicken wearing a bra.

My plate was removed and about 15 minutes later a replacement arrived. I was told that the bernaise was omitted as it was dairy based.

The meal was disrupted to the poorly trained staff. The filet was overcooked and was certainly shy of the advertised 8 oz.

Food allergy or intolerance? You have been warned. The Milton Inn doesn't care.

We've been to the Milton Inn many times for our anniversaries. This time was a Thursday night and the only issue was that they seems understaffed. Through no fault of her own as far as I could tell we did not (nor anyone ) get the attention/time of the waitress. She was clearly working hard but other than her and the hostess ( who may have been new) I never saw any other staff. For the prices, I think we should expect more.
Everything else was terrific, including the waitress (just wanted to see more of her).

The Milton Inn is the epitome of a "prestige" dining experience. If you don't mind very high prices for what is unquestionably fine cuisine, then this is the place to dine. Even more so, if hobnobbing with movers and shakers is important to you. If none of that is important to you, then there are probably better places to spend your inheritance.

The Milton Inn does not disappoint. So cozy, and elegant at the same timeespecially a great atmosphere around the holidays. Food is always terrific as it was on our last visit. Some of the dinner portions are large, so splitting is a good idea if you are having an appetizer and/or salad first. The bar is comfortable and lovely as well.

Somewhat dated hunt country decor. Excellent drinks and wine selection by the glass. Relaxed, unhurried service. Excellent salads which the kitchen split for us to share. The main courses were excellent and cooked to perfection: filet mignon, rack of lamb, tuna, and vegetarian dish. A surprise piece of birthday cheesecake topped off the meal.

We went to dinner on Saturday evening for my finances birthday. From the appetizers to the desserts, we were absolutely wowed on the quality of the food, the generous portions, the preparation, and service provided. Sue had the beef tenderloin tartar and I had cream of crab soup for appetizers. Both were flavorful and nicely spiced. The soup is the best I have ever tasted (many restaurants I have tried their soup), none better. Sue raved about how well the beef tenderloin tartar was prepared. Sue had the sesame crusted tuna and I ordered a rack of lamb for our main dishes. Both were well prepared and the flavor was exquisite. The vegetables and sauces were perfectly prepared. We ordered the flourless chocolate cake to go with a glass of aged Taylor Fladgate port wine. Both were fantastic. This dinner was simply one of the best that we have ever experienced. Please note that we are both foodies. The atmosphere was quiet and very romantic. Hats off to the chef and to our server who was quite attentive to our needs.

We've been here several times, and the Milton Inn never disappoints. I do miss the couches in the bar, though.
The food was just outstanding, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable without being intrusive. A great place for a special time with a favorite person or group!

This restaurant is in an old stone house built in 1740, and it has the flavor of a two-century old mansion, with elegant period decor. The service is excellent. The food is traditional and very sumptuous, although some diners in our party found the dishes a little on the filling side.k it is definitely a special occasion sort of place.

ANOTHER excellent meal, served by a professional server.

My wife & I shared the Harvest Salad, which was fresh and accompanied by the right amount of dressing. She then had the filet mignon special and I had the salmon. Both were delicious. We shared the peanut butter & chocolate dessert, which was VERY rich.

If you're into martinis I suggest ordering bleu cheese stuffed olives to accompany a dirty martini.

The service was truly fantastic!

We enjoyed the menu for the Milton Inn's 70th Anniversary Celebration, which is available through 2017. The entire bill for several courses plus a bottle of wine or champagne was $130 plus tax and tip, a true bargain! We chose a bottle of excellent champagne. Our amuse bouche was a portion of delectable swordfish. Next was Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail appetizers (3 jumbo shrimp). The main course was a shared Chateaubriand with vegetables and potatoes. The meat was cooked as we asked (medium rare), and was divine! We then finished our dinner with decadent chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. Coffee and chocolates were also included. Everything about the meal was exquisite, and the service was perfect. The room was cozy and old style in a good way. Much recommended! (We took home leftovers which gave us a wonderful second meal.)

I enjoy going to the Milton a few times a year. They are a bit pricey but as the old saying goes most of the time you get what you pay for. My friend and I each got the special of the day which was filet and crab cake with vegetable medley and rebaked mashed potatoes. The only word I can use to describe the food was outstanding. If you use cheater glasses for reading make sure you bring them because with the low light really made it difficult for me to read menu. In closing I always enjoy this place and will return again.
