Scallop appetizer was absolutely delicious. Crab soup great as always. Our entrees were very good. Carrot cake was terrible, worst ever. Service was very good. The men at the next table were a bit loud....well, two of them had booming voices that were an intrusion.

We tried the small plates and we pleased with our selection, both in terms of the 1740 Lounge and the food choices. Also, the service was excellent!!!!

The Milton Inn never disappoints. Our meals were delicious & memorable. The addition of the Lounge $12 meals was a brilliant move by the Chef.
We try and dine there once a month.

This restaurant is in an old stone house built in 1740, and it has the flavor of a two-century old mansion, with elegant period decor. The service is excellent. The food is traditional and very sumptuous, although some diners in our party found the dishes a little on the filling side.k it is definitely a special occasion sort of place.

ANOTHER excellent meal, served by a professional server.

My wife & I shared the Harvest Salad, which was fresh and accompanied by the right amount of dressing. She then had the filet mignon special and I had the salmon. Both were delicious. We shared the peanut butter & chocolate dessert, which was VERY rich.

If you're into martinis I suggest ordering bleu cheese stuffed olives to accompany a dirty martini.

The service was truly fantastic!

The food was fantastic! The wine wonderful. While the food may seem pricy, comparing with other other area upscale options it was about the same. Do yourself a favor and schedule your next occasion at the Milton Inn.

We enjoyed the menu for the Milton Inn's 70th Anniversary Celebration, which is available through 2017. The entire bill for several courses plus a bottle of wine or champagne was $130 plus tax and tip, a true bargain! We chose a bottle of excellent champagne. Our amuse bouche was a portion of delectable swordfish. Next was Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail appetizers (3 jumbo shrimp). The main course was a shared Chateaubriand with vegetables and potatoes. The meat was cooked as we asked (medium rare), and was divine! We then finished our dinner with decadent chocolate mousse and creme brûlée. Coffee and chocolates were also included. Everything about the meal was exquisite, and the service was perfect. The room was cozy and old style in a good way. Much recommended! (We took home leftovers which gave us a wonderful second meal.)

I enjoy going to the Milton a few times a year. They are a bit pricey but as the old saying goes most of the time you get what you pay for. My friend and I each got the special of the day which was filet and crab cake with vegetable medley and rebaked mashed potatoes. The only word I can use to describe the food was outstanding. If you use cheater glasses for reading make sure you bring them because with the low light really made it difficult for me to read menu. In closing I always enjoy this place and will return again.

Cozy 1782 Inn with White table cloths, elegant service and beautiful setting. Perfect for a special fall evening with family. My only critique was that our waiter blunted out the menu/specials mechanically, and didn't seem as receptive to menu questions but he was very prompt and diligent.

This is a quaint restaurant that might conjure up the days of old and a road side stop on a long trip by horseback. The seafood with wild mushroom risotto was excellent. The rolls were light, fluffy and crisp on the outside. Wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised by the wine prices in this classy restaurant. There was also outdoor seating available. A very special place to dine.

It has been many years since I’ve eaten at the Milton Inn because of moving away from the area. We had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful meal Saturday night with great friends. Each of us enjoyed our meals tremendously and our waiter was excellent and his service and presentation.

Such a nice place to have dinner. The food is always good - good basic American cuisine. Our server, while professional, was not warm nor conversational. But still a nice event. And it's such a pretty, comfy place way out in the beyond-burbs.

THe Milton Inn offers a classic experience but with a vibrant and distinctive take on a variety of menu choices . the preparations are beautifully presented and are meant to be both visually and palate pleasing. WE found the lunch choices to be diverse and we're both delighted with our choices...a wonderful mushroom torte in phyllo and a Korean prepared pork tenderloin. BOth meals followed a special smoked salmon appetizer that we shared.

We used an app (Groupon) that gave us special pricing. We would have never gone there without the app pricing. Food was the best I ever ate (so, so delicious). Was it worth $158.00 before the app? No but it was worth the $88. We paid.

Great meal.wonderful quality.

I am not sure why they always tell you about the specials , without mentioning the price, AFTER you have looked at the menu for 15 minutes and have decided . The specials should be printed so one can decide. By the time the last ingredient in the final special is mentioned, I have long forgotten the first special.

Nice ambiance, excellent service, great food. We both started off with soup, my wife with cream of crab that was delicious and me with the watermelon gazpacho that I would have again in a heartbeat---great blend of sweet and spicy flavors. For our main course, I had the duck breast with raspberry sauce, mashed potatoes and watercress salad in a honey vinaigrette dressing, all done to perfection. My wife had the sword fish in lobster sauce and she raved about it. We finished with coffees and I enjoyed the strawberry shortcake. We will be back again next year as our annual treat.

Disappointed in our experience overall. I expected better. The rolls were hard. The hostess couldn't find us a better table when we asked and told us that the two I asked about were for other people. Later in the evening our waiter changed another guest's table to one of the tables we asked about(no one came to sit at that table the whole time we were there). I guess we asked the wrong person! My husband's steak was way undercooked for what he requested. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes and they looked like they were thrown on the plate. My key lime pie crust was hard at the top and could barely cut it with my fork. The boys helping the waiters were on top of refilling water glasses so that was good. One gentleman was talking on his phone on speaker. No one asked to to go outside or anything. Considering their reputation and the final cost of our meal I expected better! I never write reviews good or bad but, this was just a great disappointment. I'll try maybe one more time to give them another chance so hopefully it was just an off night!

The Milton inn has been one of our favorites for many, many years. That tradition is renewed every time we dine there.
This time my wife enjoyed a salmon special while I had a beef filet with crab cake--both meals were perfect! We both indulged in a variety of desserts and coffee. A wonderful evening with a very attentive waitress!
