Millwright's Ratings and Reviews
Opted in for the tasting course and loved every second of it. The progression of courses, creativity of each course and the skill and technique utilized to prepare the food was phenomenal. The wait staff was amazing, attentive yet not intrusive and gave great recommendations and input. I honestly can not recommend eating at millwrights enough. It was a top to bottom great experience and I can’t wait to go back.
Ron guided our family through a wonderful dinner celebrating a birthday - every recommendation he made that we followed was outstanding! The table help was always present but not hanging over us, so we enjoyed talking and hanging out together in Millwright’s cool atmosphere. We were also grateful that the youngest member of our party could order a cheeseburger from the tavern menu since it’s what she really wanted!
We were very disappointed in our dinner experience here. My mom and sister had raved about the food here so, at mom's request, we dined her for an early celebration of her 90th birthday. Restaurant is very pretty and elegant. Service was also very good, especially given the fact that we dined here on the day after Christmas. Food, however, was a major disappointment. Appetizer bukked as "Foie Gras" was anything but. Not terribly tasty and certainly not anything like a traditional pate. "Beet Toast" included tasty beets but the toast must have been made before Christmas....I thought I would break a tooth. Off to a bad start. Our two entrees were the roasted salmon - much too salty - and the slices of acorn squash were not tasty at all. Other entree was the pork osso bucco - another disappointment. One a higher note, the cheese platter which we ordered for dessert was very nice as was the ice wine we paired with it. At least our ending was satisfactory. There are other restaurants in the area which we believe are far superior with a better price point.
As always, Millwrights delivered an evening we'll never forget. Seated by the waterfall on Christmas Eve, served by a professional, friendly, dynamic staff, and then enjoying an exquisite dinner was the perfect way to escape the holiday crush. At Millwrights, we found a classic enclave of peace and tranquility. Thank you all and Happy New Year!
Memorable Christmas eve dinner at Millwrights. Seated promptly and attentive service. The chef willingly and creatively accommodated our two vegan dinner companions even given the limited holiday menu. We will most definitely be back to Millwrights for more memorable meals.
We had a fantastic time! It was 2 days before Christmas and our family had just arrived. Everything was perfect from delicious cocktails, tasting menu and Ron, our server. He made the evening so much fun and he even brought out Tyler after he heard that we were following him on Top Chef. Couldn’t have been a more perfect time
A Top Chef contestant restaurant that is worth the visit! The appetizers we shared were especially well-done and our entrees were both also quite good, though larger portions than we really needed. Highly recommend the dumplings - spinach gnocchi that we can say are "little pillows of love". The service was also exceptional.
We have been to Millwrights several times and they have always delivered exceptional food and great service. Our visit on 12/16/17 lived up to expectations. This was a Saturday evening in holiday season so the restaurant was quite busy and reservations were running a bit late. Once we were seated we got an apology for the delay and a glass of sparkling wine (Cava) on the house for our patience -- a nice touch. For the first time we tried the tasting menu with wine pairing. Seven small plate courses accompanied by a different wine for each course. This is not a quick meal. We spent a leisurely 2 hours dining and enjoying each others company. The food was exceptionally good and what a great opportunity to try a variety offerings on the regular menu. Even though these were small plate servings there was plenty of food. And the wine pourings with each course were generous. Another great evening at Millwright’s, we will be back!
This was a great find, a phenomenal meal with beautiful views. We sat overlooking the waterfall, wife and kids loved it. The special cocktails were wonderful and cannot say enough about our server she was spot on with all recommendations. Would go back in a minute.
Decided to try for Anniversary lunch - well worth the one hour drive. Beautiful setting in old mill.
Lunch included chicken wings (the best we've ever tried), pork sandwich, fish + chips, and salad. Simple meals beautifully executed and so full of flavor.
Service was very good - just the right amount of attention.
Tried their seasonal cocktail 'In Season' - seriously addicting! We look forward to returning to the Millwright again in the spring.
Fourth out of five years here for Thanksgiving.Last seating reservation at 6pm.Portions much smaller this year. Were running out of Sides.(2 very small squares of stuffing for 3 Turkey dinners.Salmon piece was about 2 ounces as a main dish.Service was excruciatingly BAD.Obvious that the Waiter was not trained and did not want to be there. After being seated, waited 20 minuets to get water, another ten to get 1 small biscuit each.Dinner was served at 7pm. The ONLY redeeming part of our Overpriced Thanksgiving Dinner was the Dessert.2 large plates of home made cookies. We will NOT recommend Millwright's.We were not the only Guests dissatisfied with our Waiter.
Our reservation for Thanksgiving 2017 was for 5:30. The "lobby" was crowded, however, we were seated within 15 minutes of our reservation.
The starters: salad and roasted parsnips. We each enjoyed our choice.
The entees: NY Strip cooked M and the Meyer lemon roasted salmon. My dining companion complained that the steak was gristlely and tough. My salmon had a mild "fishy" taste, but that was made less noticable by the side of Brussel sprouts.
The sides: the Brussel sprouts and the mashed potatoes were good. The cranberry sauce and the dressing were not to our liking. The squash was OK.
The dessert tray was varied, and the choices delicious.
If the entrees had been up to Millwright's usual standards, I would have given the meal 5 stars.
