We really enjoyed this meal. The setting was beautiful too. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. This is out second time and we will be back.
Dinner was fabulous --- our waiter was INCREDIBLE (and I'm so sorry I have forgotten his name.
The Sunday night special of 50% off wines was a big draw for us, and will bring us back!
Amazing as always! From start to finish, millwrights has never failed to impress. The ambiance is wonderful, staff are friendly and the food is absolutely incredible
Made reservations for my birthday on a Thursday for Saturday nite and requested a table by the window to see the waterfall, they where able accommodate us. When we where seated I was given a card from the staff wishing me Happy Birthday. Nice personnel touch. Ordered house special drinks. Everyone loved. Ordered appetizers, Cauliflower Soup, Farm Greens and 2 orders of Dumplings. The main course we ordered the Halibut, NY Strip and 2 orders of Duck. Dessert was coconut Carrot Cake ice cream cookie. On my dessert plate they wrote Happy Birthday another personal touch. Everything was spot on, all the flavors that accommodated all of food were awesome. The chef is a step above any restaurant around here. We can’t wait to go back again. Again WOW
The house specialties sampling menu was a delicious 7- course culinary experience.
I highly recommend it!
We have never been disappointed by the service or the food. The food is unique and delicious-the chef out did himself. The ambiance is outstanding.
We will be returning.
The food is amazing you can not go wrong with your order
Food was top notch, but what this meal special was the service! Our server said he was going to spoil us....and he did!
Loved the food... was a last minute thought for my Birthday dinner...Great choice, was during a heat wave so the AC was having a hard time keeping it cool... but the food was awesome.
Wonderful dining experience One of a Kind restaurant and food is incredible
Wonderful restaurant with excellent food and service.
From the wonderful greeting to our final goodbye, few experiences have equaled our evening at Millwright's. To be honest, the meal went by in a flash, even though we were there for 2.5 hours, so I am light on specific details, but what sticks is course after course of amazing food, presented beautifully in an amazing location. Tip of the hat to Ron and Bridget, our serving team, you making our night a great one with their top level hospitality.
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversaryat Millwright's. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. The food was phenomenal. We especially loved the dumplings and the tapioca appetizers. Ron was a fantastic waiter who provided us with a little background on the restaurant and chef as well as spot on descriptions of the entrees. We can't wait to come back and try the tasting! And we are going to have friends join us.
This is the first time I came away from a meal at Millwrights and wasn't "wowed." Yes, the setting is still spectacular. Yes, the choices are tempting. But, the server brought my out of town friend the wrong dish, then tried to make up for it by offering free dessert. Neither of us normally eat dessert, but decided that it was a nice offer and the choices were good. The bill came and only one dessert was free. We should have split the set of three cones because two orders were way too many calories! Then, the server switched out our bill and gave us two free desserts without our asking, which was nice. She also gave us champagne, which was again, very nice, but neither of us are big drinkers and we only took a few sips. That was very, very nice, but really just an intrusion at that point.
I still love the restaurant and normally love the food. I just won't order the duck dumplings again: way too rich and fattening for me! But that rose ice cream: wonderful! I hope they bring back the baked (?) cauliflower. Never say no to that one!!
Absolutely great. The tasting menu was by far one of the best I ever had. Beautiful presentation. Unique food combinations that surprised your palate. Kudos to the chef and his staff. The service was also fantastic.
Millwrights was just the right place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The setting is lovely with the tables overlooking the pond and waterfall . Our host and servers were friendly and attentive without "hovering". The appetizers of oysters and lobster were fresh and delicious. Our entrees of lamb and duck were excellent with very creative accompaniments. The restaurant well deserves it's reputation.
We had a group of people and were fortunate to get the chef's table. Had the tasting menu and wine paring, everything was delicious and the service is always top notch!
Excellent food. Great ambiance. We will definitely be back!
A great restaurant. Food is always good and sometimes outstanding. Can be expensive but the last time we went wine was half off so it became very affordable. Beautiful location too
A wonderful romantic dinner evening with my sweetheart. I noted on the reservation that it was my sweetheart's birthday and they went with it to create an extra special experience for her. We had the tasting menu which had a great variety of delicious choices and, in the end, was quite filling. The service was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Definitely a memorable experience for our Anniversary - great food, great service, great ambiance.
Everything was excellent from beginning to end. Well made martini's, excellent appetizers, delicious entree, and yummy dessert. The chef does a great job with an interesting combination of flavors in everything. The wait staff is very attentive and the ambiance with a view of the river is great! We go here for almost all of our special occasions - not too many other places can compare.
We did the 7 course tasting menu. It was spectacular!
This restaurant has a wonderful setting and the service and welcome were exceptional. The food was good but not extraordinary as I would have hoped. We had a pleasant walk around the grounds after the meal, enjoying the view of the waterfall and mill pond.
We were looking forward to our first time at this popular restaurant; however, we left vowing not to return. We had swordfish and halibut and both were very overdone. What was really disappointing was that our server didn’t come back to our table until our meal was almost finished. To their credit they took the entree’s off of the bill and did apologize.
Haughty wait staff and ambience in dining room. We were seated at an uncomfortable high-top table with octogenarian father for Father’s Day, with bright lights from kitchen and revolving door to add to the unpleasant nature of the dining experience. There were plenty of open tables with a beautiful view of the waterfall, but not for us, apparently. Food was uninspired in general but pastry chef was excellent.
Interesting food that will appeal to a variety of palates (we had a vegan and omnivores). Beautifully prepared and presented. Love the atmosphere. Service great. Only complaint—a little too pricey. This has become our new go to restaurant for special occasions.
Wonderful dining experience! This restaurant has it all! Will definitely be going back another time to sample more of the chef's creations.
We surprised my mom for her 60th birthday and we are so glad we did! The cocktails and cuisine were superb. The ambiance is beautiful and made for a special occasion. Worth the drive and the price!
Just omg I’m a chef myself in ct and I usually never get to go out but when and if I ever do it’s to millwrights Tyler is a damn culinary wizard!
Converted Mill built in 1630. Fabulous interior, incredible servers and amazing food!!! My wife and I have our new favorite place!!! Ask for the waterfall window table, awesome views!!! Enjoy!
Menu items that you wouldn’t make yourself
Great atmosphere overlooking the falls
Food is always superb, we have been here several times. They really need to have two servers in the dining room to give the kind of attention the restaurateurs deserve for this caliper of place. We love coming here, but tonight the server seemed maxed out with customers. We love Marie, great service.
We love Millwrights; the food is outstanding and extremely creative. Our waiter was wonderful, as all of the waitstaff are really attentive and informative. The only thing I was minorly disappointed in this was the dessert selection-we had the cheesecake but it really didn't taste like cheesecake-more like a pound cake hybrid.
This was our first time at Millwright’s and we decided to pick the 7 course meal where the chef picks each course. The meal started off very well with a lobster salad and three other very nice appetizers. We thought the meal was going to live up to our expectations but unfortunately it rapidly went down hill from there. We found the entrees to be disappointing at best and almost to salty to eat. We actually turned some plates back and once that happened the waitress got rattled and actually forgot to bring one course. This was a special occasion for us and the meal turned out to be a very forgettable part of an important night for us. I would not recommend Millwrights to others or return.
My brother was leery of trying the tasting menu, but we finally talked him into it. He devoured everything set before him (as did the rest of us). Food was first rate and cooked to perfection. Wait staff while attentive, seemed stretched a bit thin.
We did the tasting menu, which clearly showcased the chef's skills and artistic talent. Our server Ron, was fantastic. He is very skilled at explaining the menu and making our experience just awesome. He made our anniversary dinner memorable. Love coming here.
Absolutely outstanding food and service. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious but was not served hot
