Went for a celebratory dinner/date night. Our waitress surprised us with a champagne toast for our good news. Cocktails were excellent and our meals were both top of the line. Waitstaff had a wonderful attitude, was very attentive but also allowed us to take our time. I look forward to going back!
By far the best restaurant experience we’ve had in CT! The tasting menu is a must!
Took out of town guests... fantastic food wonderful presentation and service.
We have dined a Millwrights on many occasions and plan on more still. The food is excellent and the service impeccable. Marie our server for the evening was just wonderful and having the manger, Vanessa, stop by and chat about the meal is always helpful. The portions are not huge so if you like volume versus quality this might be your place. It is though one of the few places you can thoroughly enjoy three courses and not feel bloated. The food is very tasty.
ical about, but which was divine--
Love this place!
Millwright’s is a wonderful, fine dining restaurant which retains a very open and welcoming atmosphere. My wife and I got married at the upstairs function room and we still love to return, this time for our 6th anniversary. Food is inspired and wonderful people make the whole experience worthwhile. Thank you Millwright’s for your dedication to quality!
Was awesome as always
Ron, our amazing waiter, is always helpful, fun and makes dining at Millwright's so wonderful. Went with a large group of 9 women for a work dinner. Great food, service and fun evening. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.
Hapy to go again
Expensive and worth every penny. Exceptional food for our brunch-- benedict served perfectly (which is tough to do), and all other components of the meal for three of us was just right. Quality shines through.
as usual, it was amazing! Millwright's is always wonderful - great food, great service, beautiful venue
My only complaint was
We were told by waiter that two of
our considerations were on the tasting menu, so we decided to go with that;only problem was the chef changed them.
So it was a surprise when the Cod came out instead of quail
and even more of a challenge was getting lamb instead of swordfish ! That did not sit well
It was however a lovely dinning experience overall
Such a beautiful setting, excellent service, interesting and delicious menu. Fabulous all around.
A wonderful place for Brunch, a pleasant room, great view of the waterfall that likely once powered the mill in the building. Excellent waitstaff, and friendly people. Too bad it is about 130 miles from where I live.
Please offer more Rhône valley wines and Chianti’s. Always a lovely evening when spending it with you. Thanks!
We were very happy and have been there many times. However, I changed my reservation on Open Table which the restaurant didn't receive which wasn't their fault at all as I had the email confirmation from Open Table. The restaurant accommodated us without any issues.
Ron, our server, made our dining experience great fun! From the recommendations to the interesting conversation, Ron was fantastic. We choose the 7 course tasting and it was a decision we were glad we made!
Our waiter Ron was excellent and stopped our party from walking out. First management tried to stick my party of 7 in the back of the restaurant near the ugly silverware station and kitchen window, which upset me since I made a reservation one month in advance to celebrate my birthday, and strictly made it at Millwright's solely for the ambience with waterfall view. Our party moved to a better table and then Ron took over. We got the tasting menu with beverage pairing and had a wonderful time. Food was very good - not great - but there were some stand outs like the tapioca clam chowder , beverage pairing was excellent. Ron was exceptional.
I took my children to Millwrights to celebrate and it was perfect! We had a perfect view of the waterfall upon request. Everyone was very friendly and the food was amazing. I look forward to going again very soon.
Very nice restaurant. A bit pricey, and the menu was a pre-fix for Valentine's week so we had no choice but to go with the $75/person fixated menu. This came with some 4 courses with 2-4 choices per course. Also if you're not seated by the windows, the whole point of the restaurant (ambiance and the view) is lost as you then can't see the view. Two people, 2 alcoholic beverages totaled $215 (includes 20% tip). Waiters and service were excellent.
Another wonderful evening of fine dining, excellently prepared food and outstanding service by all staff members. My daughter and her husband accompanied my wife and I for the first time; and they were very appreciative and satisfied as well.
Always a pleasure for us, as we live close by and make a point to be frequent guests for casual dining and special occasions. Kudos to the Chef and kitchen staff for making every visit special.
Chef Tyler Anderson continues to knock it out of the park. The food and ambience are absolutely perfect for date night or special occasion. Both the interior and exterior are extremely romantic. Our favorite restaurant, without a doubt.
Our first time here, our Server was Marie. What can I say, she was bright and cheerful she was attentive yet gave us our privacy. She is absolutely a great asset to your restaurant, I look forward to seeing her again. My wife had gone to the restroom just before our main course came out, when I came out, Marie asked if I wanted her to take it back to keep it warm til my wife got back, as soon as my wife returned, there was Marie with our food. Such attentive, pleasant and personable service is so hard to find these days. Our first experience at Millwright was excellent but was made even better by Marie. We will be back!
Typically we have a great experience at Millrights, but not this time. The server started off attentively, but we didn’t see her after our first 20 minutes of being there for most of the night. The mixed drinks were good, but my friend ordered a scotch and the pour wasn’t even a finger. A manager told me that they measure their drinks and our concerns were basically dismissed. They also overcharged him $20 for an advertised $18 drink.
The atmosphere is near perfect and the food still has a consistently amazing quality to it. The value isn’t really there as the portions are smaller than average and the extras sparse. It really depends on the server. We’ve typically has good experiences here, but there are signs of financial issues with the measured pours and menu price discrepancies.
Anniversary/Valentines Day ... Valen-versary?
We love Millwright's and almost exclusively go for the tasting menu. This was by far the worst service we've ever had. I believe our server was Marie. We were excited to go for the price fixed menu for Valentine's Day, but our server was a ghost nearly the entire meal. Two courses came out directly on top of each other. I had to essentially shout and flag her down to get refills on any beverages. Though, we did notice she was attentive to the two tables near us that had ordered a bottle of wine (despite the fact that we ordered more than a bottle of wine's worth of cocktails). It sure felt a lot like age discrimination as we were the youngest couple there by about 20 years. I will only go back when Ron is working and will request him from now on. Far too expensive to have subpar service.
Another great meal!
We were seated next to swinging doors leading to the kitchen. Not romantic to say the least especially for Valentine's Day. It disturbed me, especially since we were dressed elegantly. The food was quite good however. Not sure we will be back.
Food was excellent as always. Service also excellent. Restaurant was full. No empty tables. Yet we did not wait between courses, or for attention. If only they weren’t out of the Turley Zinfandel.
A very nice Valentines Day dinner.
We had told them when we made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Everyone we came in contact with wished him a happy birthday. He was also offered a complimentary dessert or after dinner drink. My one complaint was one of the entrees came out lukewarm while the other 2 were hot. Overall though a very nice experience.
Excellent brunch in a lovely setting with excellent friendly service.
Excellent food! Beautiful view
When we arrived , we were greeted by a Host that was a bit pretentious. That is aways a turnoff to me.
We went to the bar of cocktail prior to our seating time, and the bar is cozy, with very creative good quality drinks. Friendly bar staff as well.
We were seating ,and the waitress said Happy Birthday to my husband , and that attention to detail was appreciated.
We orderded the cheese plate to start, and it was very good, creative presentation.
For dinner I had the sword- and it was served luke warm. My Husband had the " very small" strip steak, he enjoyed it and it was cooked to perfection, but for $38.00 it was too small.
The winter vegetables were terrible, boring and luke warm as well.
I also noted Foie Gras on the menu, for that alone, we would never return.
All and all, for the price, it was not worth it. The food may have been better if it was served at the correct temperature.
Food was delectable. My date loved the gnocchi. I loved the lamb. We both loved the new sparkling honey water. Service was phenomenal. The head waiter was Captain Ron. He and his staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The pastry chef even wrote a nice message in chocolate drizzle on the dessert plate. I heard the owner was on Beat Bobby Flay. I can see why. Overall 5 stars. I recommended it to my parents who are going tonight! Sincerely Yours, Bob S.
Just celebrated my Wife birthday for the second year in a row. Ron, our waiter was excellent!! again as last year.
This place is one of the best restaurants in central ct.
A perfect dining experience from start to finish. Loved it and will definitely go back.
Great meal, friendly helpful non instructive service. Ron, our waiter, made the birthday celebration a standout with Italian Prosecco, birthday card and a lovely dessert.
