Taverns have had a constant important presence in American life since the late 1600's. Many of them, which were attached to inns, were opened as resting places for travelers needing a place to stop, relax and fortify themselves. Of course the local residents frequented the taverns too, purchasing drinks and meals as well as participating in lively conversations. Our waitress, Naomi, was excellent. She took the time to get it right for wine and dinner selections with our questions. The food was excellent. Three of us had flies mignon and I had the swordfish. I have never tasted anything so delicious. Every thing about it was perfect.

I've been living in PVD for three years and never tried Mills Tavern (speaks to the variety around here).

It's honestly one of the best restaurants I've been to. The wood burning stove left an amazing flavor/crunch on my lady's steak, and my king salmon truly was the KING.

Phil was FANTASTIC, ask for Phil. The young hostess with the braided hair was very charming as well (missed her name).

Valentine's Day Dinner at 5:00pm worked out great. Last minute, day of reservation early dinner reservation worked out great. We had a PC Basketball Game at 7:00. We left by 6:30. Swordfish and petite filet were awesome, along with, of course, french fries. A couple of Tito's Martini's for the LOVERR and we were off to the Big Game.

We showed up on time for our reservation, but never got seated until an hour later ! Then we waited over an hour for our food ! My food was spectacular, but my wife's steak was cold - My guess is they forgot to cook mine, and hers sat there for a long time while they rushed to cook mine - When my wife told the waitress her steak was cold, she scraped it offer her plate and brought it back to reheat it - In the process of scraping the steak off her plate, she evidently spilled some of the food right into my wife's expensive pocket book !!!! Now it smells of garlic, onions or something like that - We did not notice the pocket book fiasco until after we got home when my wife stuck her hand into the pocket book and got food all over here hands - Total disaster - I've been to this restaurant approximately 15 times, all were great experiences, but for the last 3 0- They have been pretty bad - The prior problems were - 1 - They lost a $ 50 gift card, so we had to come up with more money 2 - Just bad service - Inattentive waiter - Etc......... 3 strikes and you're out as the umpires says -I won't be going back for sometime - In this most recent incident, I found the bartender to be totally inattentive to my wife and I - We sat at the bar for an hour and would not have been asked if we wanted a drink if I hadn't essentially flagged him down like one flags down a cab

I had to send my steak back because it was significantly not "rare"; be careful when ordering. I've had to do this before at Mill's Tavern, so it must be an ongoing problem in the kitchen.

I came here for a birthday dinner with a few friends. Everyone was very disappointed with the food. The salads had an odd savory taste, the steak was overdone, and the gnocchi was just not prepared well. We really wanted to like the food but it just wasn't quiet right.

Tried Mill's Tavern before a show at the Vet. Both the food and the service were great. Its definitely not cheap but portions were good and quality was excellent
We will definitely return when in the area ...

Food was EXCELLENT... I am a person who never orders or even cares for deserts, but I tasted 2 desserts here and they were magnificent, I would come back just for a desert night. The food in general was all GREAT. The only draw back for the evening, was our waiter who wasn't awful she was just fair. Not attentive, and didn't communicate w/ us. We had long waits for bread and drinks.

First time. Went with another couple. Jacob was a fabulous server. Knowledgeable and attentive at all times.
Food was delicious. Atmosphere was alive!
