Outstanding place to eat and the bartender was attentive
Meal was delicious as always. During this pandemic, the service at the bar isn’t quite as friendly because it’s harder to communicate with the bartender.
The filet and ribeye were cooked to perfection. Always get a good meal
Had a wonderful time at Mill's Tavern--cheese board started was fabulous and was a true starter leaving plenty of room for our main courses! Salmon was delicious, and my husband enjoyed his steak and sides. Service was great--attentive but we never felt rushed. As someone who has been to maybe 3-4 indoor restaurants since COVID started, I felt very safe here (Feb 2021).
The food was great, pricing was not too bad. Overall a great place to dine.
It had been awhile since our last visit. It was fantastic. The Wagyu beef was perfectly seared. The entire meal from oysters to Portuguese bread pudding was wonderful. Our waiter was attentive and engaging. Will be back again regularly now.
Lin, our waitress was amazing. Made our first time at the mill’s tavern pleasant. she made us feel welcome. And not out of place. It is very upscale. Clean and coy during these winter season. The food and eveeything on the menu was perfect. Food drinks and everything was great! Will be going there again!
As always, The Mills was delightful. My partner and I had our Valentine’s Day dinner here and it was absolutely perfect from the ambiance down to the delicious food.
Ofcourse, it’s Valentine’s Day so I surprised my wife to dinner! I am happy bcos Lynne was our server and I have read so many great reviews about her well all I can say is they are definetely correct! She was a Star!!! We tried the Tomahawk Wagyu cooked medium, darnnn so great! Some part of the fats melts in my mouth. We tried the pudding and chocolate mousse tart. My wife and I prefer the pudding following trying both desserts. Def and highly recommend this place 😉
Had a porterhouse for two cooked medium and it was perfectly cooked! The asparagus I felt was undercooked. The chocolate dessert and bread pudding were less than impressive. Our wine which was kindly recommended by our waitress was superb. Our waitress was a sweet woman whom we both adored. The table was beautifully adorned for Valentine’s Day.
Overall I did not feel the value was there but I did enjoy it! The bill was just too high for those failures.
Whatever issues there were with Mill's Tavern that I read about in other Open Table reviews (mostly from 2019) have clearly been resolved, in my opinion. We went this past Saturday for our belated anniversary dinner, and every aspect of our visit was phenomenal. Our server, Tyler, was friendly, informative, prompt, courteous & accurate and made our evening comfortable & effortless. The ambience here is sooooo conducive to quiet conversation and a little romance - perfect atmosphere to celebrate our 27th anniversary.
It was the last evening of Restaurant Week (month!) and we decided to partake in that menu. I had the calamari appetizer, petite filet entrée, and bread pudding dessert. My husband had the butternut squash bisque as an appetizer, the Venison Pappardelle entrée and the bread pudding as well. Additionally, he decided to do the wine pairing with the meal and also started with some locally farmed oysters. We also ordered some brussels sprouts to share.
The calamari was tender and delightfully different being seasoned with lemongrass and greens (THANK GOD - NO MARINARA!); my husband's soup was well-seasoned, tasty and smooth and those oysters were eye-rolling delicious and gone in a second. He loved the (fresh) pappardelle/venison dish and found it to be savory and satisfying - nothing left in that plate! The brussels were cooked perfectly although I found them to be a tad bit heavy w/balsamic - delicious, nonetheless. My filet was perfectly "medium" as I requested. the accompanying potatoes very good as well.
The drinks were well balanced and I had the best pear martini I've ever had....my husband felt the wines were paired very well with each meal course and each one complemented & enhanced the food it was served with. Desserts were to die for!
Will definitely be back to Mill's for our next celebratory meal. The prices were fair for the level of serve & food quality, but our wallets can afford a meal like this only so often.
Food was wonderful, service excellent
We had a fantastic evening! Our waitress and team that served us was personable, knowledgeable in the menu and did everything to make out night a great night.
The food was amazing, I hadn’t dinned at Mills in 5-6 years and it was as great as when it first opened. If you haven’t had dinner or lunch at Mill’s tavern, I would put it at the top of your list!
Service was awesome. Lynne was attentive and friendly. The food was tasty and fresh. We went for restaurant week and took advantage of the prix fixe menu. Very happy all around.
Maiden voyage to Mill's Tavern. The service was excellent. Staff was very friendly. It was smaller than I expected, but the perfect place for a nice quiet dinner. We will definitely be back.
Service was very slow. Waited over 1hr for food to arrive on table.
Perfect food as always. The prix fixe menu is excellent for the money. The service was great in the beginning but slow in second half . Waited a long time for a second drink to arrive after ordering and had to find someone to bring the check. What should have taken 2 hours took almost 3. It would be ok but we had a car and driver waiting and had to pay extra for the extra time. But it is my favorite restaurant for food and ambience Never a bad bite!
It was my anniversary and they made sure it was very special!
Went for restaurant week. Food was a fairly good value for the price point. Service was fairly subpar, however. The waitress was significantly more engaged with tables adjacent to ours and as a result there was just a little too much time between courses being served. Also waited about 15 minutes to just get our bill taken care of once it was left on the table.
We had a fantastic night at Mill's Tavern. All the credit to the chef with his delicious specials (butternut squash bisque!) and our wonderful server Samantha. She had great recommendations for us and guided us through our selections with her advice. It was absolutely frigid out, and with our table against the window ( wouldn't trade the view!), both Sam and the manager came by frequently to adjust the portable heater near us and make sure we were comfortable. After going to MT for years, we had a very unfortunate experience a year ago with both service and food. After last night, I wouldn't hesitate to go again and recommend it to friends!
Our dinner experience was excellent from the greeting we received to our desert. Thank you so much
Amazing!!!! Food was delicious!! Customer service was great!! Ambiance was relaxing, elegant, chic, and romantic! I will definitely be back and tell my friends and family of this hidden gem!!!❤️
Lynn Webster is the best! She is an incredible, professional waitress that makes up for any shortcomings the restaurant may have. Everything was great Saturday night! Steaks cooked perfectly and the experience was wonderful!
Outstanding experience at Mills Tavern. Food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere felt clean and safe. Looking forward to returning.
My girlfriend and I went to celebrate our anniversary and they speared no detail, the table was decorated as was our dessert with happy anniversary. The service was excellent and multiple employees wished us a happy anniversary. On top of the always excellent food it really made our night.
I took my wife on a date there the service was excellent, we had the wayguu tomahawk steak it was amazing,
First time dining at Mill's with Covid restrictions in place. The food and dessert were amazing as always.
Everything was great ! Had the Prefix menu . Our server was really nice !
Service was excellent food was great and the ambience was really nice.... A little disappointed that since they knew it was a birthday celebration they did not provide a free dessert
We went to Mill's Tavern during COVID restaurant month because the special menu looked excellent. We started off with martinis and blue cheese olives which were excellent. We had calamari and Caesar salad for starters, filet and venison ragu for mains, and bread pudding and beet chocolate cake for dessert. We enjoyed a half price bottle of wine with the meal. Every dish was outstanding and we ate every bite. Our waitperson, Samantha, was outstanding. She was attentive without hovering and made us feel welcomed and safe.
absolutely astonishing! the venue gives off modernly vintage vibes that allows you to settle down and enjoy time with family. the servers were so friendly and helpful and the food was nothing short of fantastic. Mill’s Tavern is certainly a diamond of Providence!
Great service food and a wonderful experience overall.
We used to go to Mils tavern several times a Month but won’t be back ... so unfortunate ... we realize times are tough for restaurants but the dinner for 4 was $600 and the service was terrible! There was. Camera flashing on us while we ate ... we ordered raw bar and the shrimp were u16 and the Same price as the u8s they used to serve. Just poor all around food quality and experience ..
Hello Stephanie, I am sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. We strive to give great service and food in a comfortable atmosphere. We do offer a $39.95 three course prix fixe menu on Thursdays and Sundays that offers great value. We have keep all of our menu prices the same or in some cases lower than pre-pandemic. We do offer premium items as well that some like to splurge on. Please reach out to me if you would like to discuss your experience. Best, Kate Turner General Manager
Everything was delicious. We enjoyed everything.
Covid has turned a wonderful restaurant into a library. However, the food, the service was and still is exceptional with a shout out to Lynne for her professionalism and fastidious nature. Steaks were as always perfectly cooked and enjoyed.
We have been going to Mills Tavern for years! Food is always excellent and fresh! However I was extremely disappointed at my dinner in 1/1/2021. I have the prefix menu. My calamari was oily and tasted like it was fried in old oil. My Salmon was good but the grits were lacking flavor. My husband had the shrimp cocktail which was fresh and delicious as always and the filet Mignon and he greatly enjoyed it. My son usually gets the Mac and cheese and also tasted oily and not as creamy as it usually is. I was very disappointed with my meal for the first time at Mills. Not sure if it’s due to covid but the has been the worse and only meal I’ve ever had at Mills. We did not complain to the waitress but big felt it needed to be said in hopes they are aware of my concerns so they can fix whatever the problem is so I can go back again some day!
Excellent . There was a special. It was half of a baked stuffed lobster . I added it to my filet mignon for an amazing surf and turf meal.
Always an outstanding experience. Even in this challenging time, we had a great meal. Everything was managed safely and professionally. It was another great evening in Providence thanks to Mill's Tavern.
Jake is the best. He is the reason we go there. Excellent bartender and server.
Always good food, great service and a pleasurable experience but COVID put such a damper on the whole experience - there was absolutely no energy in the room. Its a shame.
Very great service! Food was absolutely delicious, steak was cooked perfectly.
