Wonderful food but VERY expensive. Sat at bar which was a mistake - poor service from bartender and so-so scene. Never rcvd silverware, napkin, etc until specifically asked for. No rolls, etc although others had both and a place mat which we did not ever have. Place seems an old retreat that has and will continue to lose it's luster. Will not endeavor to return.
Great steaks and other dishes. The scallops were a bit small and salty. Would go back again even though it is not cheap. Steaks were $50+ without sides.
Server was overly perky and was slow. No water refill until i asked. Never asked how meals were. Took forever to ask if we were finished/want dessert or check. Once check given took more time to get it and bring back. Restaurant is over rated. Food no better than other RI restaurants and a lot more expensive Small piece of swordfish with some lettuce - everything ala cart. Won’t go back.
Atmosphere was great beautiful restaurant but just not worth the price we paid for the meal and it wasn’t hard to get reservations and it wasn’t that busy in there so I see why now.
Was the best day place to celebrate my Birthday this year. Mill’s Tavern is a special occasion restaurant. When friends and family come together this is the to go place. My Parents truly Love it
I get the ribeye every time, never disappoints, very consistent with the way its prepared and served. All-around one of my favorite go-to spots in PVD. Service is excellent. Desserts never disappoint. Cocktails are underrated and are some of the best the city has to offer.
I love Mills Tavern. It is my go-to place and I eat there at least once per month. In my last visit, the prix fix menu (on a Tuesday) was 2/3 sold out by 7:30pm. So I had to spend twice as much. That was disappointing. My rib eye (ordered a medium) was overcooked and salty. Staff is always great, hosts were welcoming, calamari was amazing. Post pandemic, the place was packed but there was plenty of room at the bar. My reservation was on time. Overall a great place.
It took an hour for our salads to arrive. Kitchen was backed up.
Excellent rebound from pandemic. Love to see providence staple restaurants like this continuing to succeed! Service was excellent as always.
My husband and I chose Mill’s for our first dining experience since the pandemic began. Food was great! They had fois gras, my favorite, as an appetizer special. Rack of lamb, delicious. Bartender was attentive and made a killer cosmo. Will go back for sure.
Very good service and wonderful staff and food. Definitely will recommend
Enjoyed the swordfish and salmon dishes - also, almond cake was divine!
An excellent and delicious meal. The Almond Cake dessert was fabulous. A composed dish but flavors like having a perfect afternoon tea.
First time ... excellent. Service, Food, Location, Atmosphere, ... added to my "Go To" list :). Thanks...
Great food, service and atmosphere for a special dinner. Thank you
Wonderful spot for a good meal. Excellent ventilation and air flow, but it makes it a bit on the chilly side. Food is always well prepared. But you must save room for the bread pudding.
Service was A+. Jayden was great! Wished someone acknowledged it was our anniversary. Food was ok. Disappointed in the wagyu, tough to cut esp with the serrated steak knife, I’m used to being able to slice through steaks with a butter knife. Cocktails were perfectly made by Jayden and we would prob only go back for cocktails and the half price wine offering.
Dinner was amazing! Crab salad appetizer special had huge chunks of succulent crabmeat. Grilled Salmon was delicious served over fingerling potatoes. We also got a side of asparagus which was a generous portion and came topped with Parmesan cheese. Great ambiance and vibe. Service was attentive. I would definitely go back!
Great Dining experience, celebrating our sons graduation! The staff was top notch and the food was outstanding. Very possible the best meal we have had!
Experience hampered by Covid relief overly generous unemployment benefits and restaurant being short staffed. I would anticipate there will be many more reviews complaining about short-staffed service related complaints. Otherwise good experience.
Great food and excellent service! Highly recommend this restaurant.
We arrived 15 minutes before they opened and instead of leaving us standing there waiting a host graciously opened the door to invite us in and sit. Phouva was our server and was so friendly and personable. He did not rush us at all and made excellent recommendations. The Filet was hands down the best we've ever had. The desserts were delicious works of art.
Sat at my Usual spot at the Bar 11 -12 great Service , LOVE it there
Awesome is the only word to describe the evening
Sat at the bar, both bartender were great
The bartender and the drinks he made were delightful! I will come back just to see him again
Not the highlight of my Mother’s Day.
Food was delicious and well prepared. Our server was excellent. They did a nice job with COVID-19 regulations, I never felt uncomfortable. I will definitely be coming back here.
Food was top notch ! Bartender was excellent!
My favorite restaurant in Providence. Best steaks in the city and tremendous service always.
Everything was great from the moment we walked in. Food was delicious and the server was wonderful and attentive
Linda, our service person was very friendly, attentive and her services were awesome.
Food was also very good
Mill's Tavern had been on the list to check out ever since we moved to the area. Although the food was excellent and the server was extremely polite, the overall experience was a 2 out of 10. On Mother's Day, you would expect a restaurant to have more than pasta with butter for kids. With that said, we were ok with it. The issue was the time between our salads and main course was over 45min. Being at a table with a 5yr old and a 6yr old definitely enhanced the situation, but to receive our salads and fires for the kids at 12:45 and not receive our main courses until AFTER 1:30 is just unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. The Server was very apologetic and the manager even came over and apologized. Both were great, but the only a free desert for the length of time was just not ok. We will try it again without kids, but just a very bad 1st impression.
Steak was average at best and special Portuguese Bread Pudding ... had the accompanying cream to be not up to traditional standards.
Lynn as server is always First Class.
The food was excellent, our server Lynne went out of her way to make our dinner as great as possible! I will be coming back, 100%!
We had dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday and it was fantastic!
Well, I would've given 5 stars except for the fact that my reservation was a bit messed up. I had made the reservation for 2 people. On that day I called Mills Tavern to ask if we could add two more on to the reservation because it was our anniversary. The woman said No that they were full. I have never ever been turned down by restaurant for this request, but I get it since we are still in a bit of a pandemic. I requested they call me if they had a last minute cancellation. We were disappointed but understood. We show up at the restaurant and they said they had the table ready and it was for a party of 4. When I explained that they had turned down my request, the woman said that they tried to call me, which was a blatant lie because I received no missed calls or messages and my phone is extremely reliable because I use it for business calls. So the whole time our close friends could have joined us for our special night but no one bothered to follow up. This kind of put a damper on the evening but the food and service were excellent!
Bartender was awesome food was great
Haven’t been there in years
I plan on going back
Great service. Excellent choices. Prix fix always a good option
