Just a spectacular night at Mills. We ended up eating at the Bar, which was fantastic and the two Bartenders (Jess and Eric??) were fantastic. I had the waygu Strip and my husband was thrilled to see the Duck back on the menu for fall. It was spectacular in every way. (Ps. Please don’t remove the duck ever again). Great experience as always at Mills.
We were seated in the back room. Terrible ambiance while the rest of the restaurant sat empty. It was freeing. Bad spot.
Excellent food and service. The ribeye steaks were perfectly done. Jake was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back again.
Amazing night celebrating our anniversary. The whole staff made our night wonderful! Attention to every detail and of course the food was amazing. The new fall menu was outstanding. Thank you for a great night of dinning!
Food took over an hour to come out and was extremely salty. Pathetic to pay over $200 for 2 people for that. Never going back again
Phil our waiter was superb. .
The food was outstanding. Our waiter Tyler was attentive, knowledgeable, and always right on waters etc... the whole atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious. We recommend the braised short ribs, the duck, and the lobster parpadelle. The deserts were fantastic. Five star all the way around!
Wonderful food and service. Will definitely return in the near future
We stumbled on your establishment 3 years ago during waterfires. We liked it so much we decided to go there for our anniversary, and celebrated our last 3 anniversaries there. We are going to be some friends there and also plan on celebrating our 40th anniversary there next year.
Our waiter Philip was excellent and he made our night very pleasant.
Keep up the great work.
Best meal of our lives!
We had the scallop special and steak. Both were perfection.
Our dinner at Mills Tavern was wonderful- we had the scallop dish and the duck, and both were delicious. The service that our waitress Lynne provided was professional and very helpful. We will definitely return
Went their for my wife's birthday and had great dinner. Good food, service, and ambiance.
Everyone had a wonderful meal and Lynne's service was exceptional.
Chose this restaurant to celebrate two friends birthdays. Absolutely fabulous experience. Food was delicious, service terrific and ambiance great. Great wine list too!!!
Mills Tavern is still the best restaurant in Providence. The food is consistently good and the service is attentive without being intrusive. Really nice evening. Thank you.
Great food and service.
Amazing dishes and excellent service. Hot spot.
Excellent rib eye steak.
I thought the food was good, not amazing. Honestly I thought it would be a little better. The atmosphere and the service were very good.
Excellent meal. The steaks in particular were fansastic.
I enjoyed the food and ambiance. We had a birthday celebration for my wife. Just perfect!!!!
Excellent food and waitress was very attentive. Will definitely be back!
Mills Tavern was highly recommended by a friend, our recommendation would be less enthusiastic.
The pluses: Valet parking; warm welcoming greeting as we entered the restaurant; a perfectly situated table for two; a clubby, relaxing, dark woods, high-ceilinged dining room; good music level for conversation; and, fabulous desserts
Service was polite and attentive
The Prix Fixe menu allowed us to sample different dishes on each course.
APPLAUSE - one starter, one main, and two desserts - The masa dusted Point Judith Calamari - with a subtle spice that builds softly during consumption; the fresh and flavorful oven roasted swordfish medallion with avocado rouille and sweet corn/black bean relish: the Portuguese bread pudding; and, the Madeira caramel with currents and Chantilly cream.
DISAPPOINTMENT - The Caesar salad was bland. It could have used more Parmesan and anchovies. The balsamic brined Kurobuta pork chop was quite chewy/tough and would not have been flavorful without the bacon hash.
We had planned to have the dinner with wine parings, but our waiter informed us that was just for restaurant week. He offered to check with his boss to see what accommodation could be made, but by that time we had an answer we had each settled on our preferred glass of wine.
Our take, is that we probably wouldn't drive the 40 miles to Providence for Mills Tavern again, so it would be a cautious recommendation.
Food was meh ... tiny portion for rack of lamb, over cooked dry and chewy pork chop. service was terrible - got the order wrong, didn’t keep the cocktails refilled.
the bread pudding was awesome
The wait staff was great... was not worth the price. A bottle of wine (less than $100) and 4 meals as pushing $400 incl. tip, two of which were $40 prefix. Food was OK, table near a noisy staff area, on a Sunday nite........
Everything about Mill’s Tavern was amazing. Our waiter Phil was personable, attentive and ensured we were completely taken care of.
Classic, almost formal decor with handsome wood accents. Convenient location, good valet parking. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night at 6:00 pm. Our waiter was awesome and super social. Food was very good, prices were what was expected. Good restaurant for a romantic date. We will likely go back in the near future...
Such a great experience. The service, the food, the atmosphere were all 10/10 Our new go to for special occasions in downtown providence.
Fantastic experience from the our server (ask for Nick) to incredible apps, impressive entries (my wife had the pork chop - tender and huge - and I had the ridiculously good lamb chops) closing with an outrageous dessert. We were celebrating our anniversary and Mills delivered!
This was for our Anniversary and our server that night was fantastic, unfortunately I cannot remember her name. The food was great and we arrived earlier than expected and we were led to our table upon arrival. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to returning.
We found this gem by accident and the next time we are in Providence we will be enjoying a delicious dinner again.
The food was very good, as always, however it was extremely pricey. Have been to Mill’s Tavern on many occasions but do not recall ever having paid this much for the meals. The wait staff was very nice and professional, but the service was slow.
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Mill's Tavern and it was a perfect evening. The food was excellent and the service even better. I highly recommend this restaurant.
NIck was an excellent waiter! 😄 food was dellish!!
Love this restaurant! Had swordfish, pork chop, count neck clams and creme brûlée and a delicious bottle of Chardonnay. Service was outstanding. Was our 1st time and we will return. Beautiful dining room and bar.
Our recent dinner at Mills Tavern was wonderful as usual! It's our go to place when we want a really nice meal. Our waitress Lynne was terrific, she helped us with suggestions and was extremely professional and unobtrusive. Can't wait to go back!
The food was great, the waitress was amazing but the food was SOOOOO overpriced. It was a good experience but I don't think we'll be eating there again because it's honestly just not worth it. Our bill was $200 and we were still hungry when we left and we had a 3 course meal each.
Great Experience! 40th Birthday and all around very impressed from atmosphere, service, food, etc!! We will definitely go back and highly recommend!
