hearty meal accompanied by a tasty libation or two.
In this American tradition, we at Mill’s Tavern welcome you with genuine enthusiasm. Our staff is warm, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. So please come, relax, visit with friends and family. You will leave refreshed and nourished, body and soul.
We really enjoyed our graduation celebration at Mill's Tavern! It was a big hit from start to finish! I will certainly be back to celebrate other special events in life! Mill's Tavern did a wonderful job, the food and beverages were all amazing!
Thanks for a GREAT evening!
We came to Mills Tavern to celebrate my son’s graduation. We scored the round booth to the left of the front door and it turned out great as the door and hostess stand was not a distraction and it actually provided us with a more intimate setting then the main dining area. The food was top notch- the calamari and king crab cocktail apps were delish. Entrees ranged from the 16oz ribeye, salmon, and gnocchi and all were prepared perfectly and tasted outstanding. Bacon Mac and Cheese, mashed potatoes, and asparagus rounded out the sides. Great wine selection and tasty cocktails from the bar. Do yourself a favor and save room for dessert. Their interpretation of affogato and cheesecake will blow you away, as well as, the chocolate semifreddo. Cheers!
Madison was our server and she was the ultimate professional. Great time had by all!
Great service! Love the white table cloth environment - classy but not stuffy.
We celebrated my daughter's college graduation on a Friday night in May 2019 at Mill's Tavern with nine people and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, food, service and wine. The menu is eclectic but easily approachable and the wine list has many options between $50 and $99. Our server, Katie, was knowledgeable and efficient. I definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or for foodies looking for an outstanding dining experience.
Great food and service .
Always impeccable!!! Superb service, phenomenal food and drinks.
Mills Tavern is always a great experience and one of our favorite places in Providence.
Wonderful experience for Mother's Day Lunch, complete with beautiful rose petals on the tables and specialty cocktails.
Outstanding service from Lynn, as always. Great food and ambiance. One of our favorites in Providence.
The food was delicious and our server paid the right amount of attention to us. I love the old world look of Mill's Tavern. We'll come again and invite friends.
Great atmosphere. Love the food and service. One of our all time favorite places to dine as a couple or with friends. When my parents come to visit from Texas it’s a must place to go.
Having recently dined at both CAV (much better) and Gracie's (much much better), we were looking forward to a dinner at Mill's Tavern but were disappointed. Not that there was anything particularly wrong with the evening, it was just not memorable or interesting. The food was fine, but not great; and the service was competent but not gracious. Our overall reaction was "meh."
The service was awkward. Tables at our seating @ our seating time we’re all crunched into the bar area. The oysters were terrible and old. The rest of the dishes, including my rack of lamb, were over done, oversauced, and of low quality. We are not going back, ever.
Great evening at Mill’s Tavern. The food was magnificent. Compliments the the Chef!!
Mill’s Taveen has always been a favorite spot for my wife and I when we are able to go out in Providence. This time I took my daughter before our father /daughter dance and had a great experience. It’s nice to see a higher end establishment treat someone with a child just as they would treat a table with two adults. Thank you for making the beginnings of a great night out with my daughter.
Steak offerings are unbelievably good. Cooked to order perfectly. Selection for sides was somewhat limited but very tasty. Waiter was excellent. Celebrating my daughters’ birthday.
Steak and pork were excellent; shrimp, clams seafood entree...not so great. Swordfish was overcooked, mushy and tasteless. Service was excellent!
The food and ambiance are always wonderful. While the server recommended a nice wine, we all thought he was somewhat detached to our needs especially once the entrees were served (water refills, salt and pepper, check on meal); we felt like he looked past us when he was at our table. One of our meals was not put into a takeaway container and thrown out by mistake - a free dessert was given. We were celebrating a birthday; there was a card on the table but birthday wishes were never extended. We were a bit surprised by the service this trip.
Great restaurant and one of our go to places. It's a bit pricey but worth it. Save room for the bread pudding.
Never a bad meal at Mill's Tavern. NEVER! NEVER! NEVER!
Great food, place was empty unfortunately.
Celebrated Easter with my partner. Service, menu and food amazing. Can't wait to go again.
Easter dinner! We had the deviled eggs with smoked salmon and the ham. So good! Highly recommend this place for a special occasion!
We went to Mill’s Tavern for Easter lunch. We like this restaurant for special occasions. It has a really beautiful atmosphere and the service and food are both very good. We also like the little extra touches like the pretty cocktail glasses and linens. We always have a great experience here. Love this place.
Our favorite restaurant in Rhode Island. Phillip was our waiter. He was amazingly friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. If you haven’t been to Mills Tavern you are missing a foodie experience. You won’t be disappointed.
Great food. Ordered the prix fix menu and it was delicious and well priced. Excellent service and the environment was comfortable and relaxing.
Wonderful dinner, would definitely return! We really enjoyed the filet and the short rib special. The oysters were delicious too. Was a surprise to learn many bottles of wine are offered 50% off on Thursdays, so that was a bonus!
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner chosen from the new spring menu, which was great!
Lynne our waitress was professional and helped us with our menu choices
We are going back soon to experience more of the spring menu!
We got seated at 7:30 and didn’t finish eating till 10pm. The kitchen had issues with their new menu and was struggling.
We did get free dessert and folks were very apologetic - the food was still terrific once we got it
Loved our food. Service was terribly slow. Waiter never came back to check on us
Poor service for a table of 2 business people and a cold $55 steak. Waitress was focused on bigger tables.
It's so hard these days to find a restaurant with excellent food, good service, and a quiet atmosphere where conversation is possible. We love Mills Tavern and highly recommend it for personal and business occasions!
Service was extremely slow. 90 minutes in between courses is too much.
Went for dinner with another couple. Waited almost a half hour for drinks, another half hour for apps and they had run out of half the items on the menu. We were told that if we’d ordered 10 minutes sooner, these menu items would’ve been available to us. Tried to order our entrees with apps and were told they’d be back shortly to take order. Unfortunately that left us with few options. Our server was polite, but overall very disappointed. Will not return.
As far as fine dining goes, this place nailed it.
When you hear the word "Tavern" you don't definitely don't think of anything close to the decor of the is restaurant. The lighting, table layout, open kitchen, art, etc.... very classy, but modern.
We had an 8:15 reservation and when we checked in, we were told that it would be a few minutes. This was anticipated as the dining room was full and we wanted to get a drink anyway. However, 30 minutes into the wait (and some very well-made drinks at the bar) the GM came over. She apologized for our wait, thanked us for our patience and let us know that she had taken the liberty of ordering us 3 appetizers that she timed for when we got seated. True to that, the apps came within a minute or so of us sitting down. They were perfectly sized and absolutely delicious. I was pretty impressed by this and actually had to get up and go thank Katy (the GM).
Our server Sam was very prompt with our food and drinks, despite it being packed, extremely knowledgeable on virtually the entire menu and very professional. She took the time to answer all of our questions and recited the specials list without ever checking the print (also impressive).
Everything from the bread to our entrées was stellar. I had the pork chop and it was amazing. The amount of flavor they sear into any of their meats with that wood burning grill of theirs is amazing. It was done exactly as I ordered and the presentation was mouthwatering, to say the least.
As far as value is concerned (ambiance, food and service weighed against price) - I can definitely say that we absolutely got what we paid for, and then some. My hat is off to Katy, Sam and the rest of the crew at Mill's Tavern.
Had reservation for birthday specifically called ahead about a dessert with happy birthday on it they forgot to do it! Server came out with the bill instead. She was kind of rude all night felt like I was making her work harder because I ordered a lot of food and ordering drinks almost like it was a privledge to be there. Not a good experience.
Well executed and very high quality food and service. Excellent, will definitely return.
Enjoy an amazing evening out at a romantic restaurant that is cozy and perfect for date night.
It was a Friday at 7 reservation and we were seated in a corner, but they were amenable to moving us to a more open deuce when requested. Even though the restaurant had many open tables, the service was only adequate. There was a party of 6 that came in after us and seemed to monopolize the server's attention. I ordered the prixe fixe menu, while my husband ordered from the regular menu, but it seemed like the server frowned upon the prixe fixe menu; just a feeling. The experience was okay, but there are so many other restaurants in Providence that I prefer much more.
It was not inexpensive but it was a fabulous dinner. We loved it all!
