hearty meal accompanied by a tasty libation or two.

Always outstanding each and every time we dine there. Nikanor always goes above and beyond as your waiter. Looking forward to dining there again soon!
Lamb special was very good! Chicken dish was ok. Service was excellent. Ambiance was good for special occassion, romantic dinner or just a casual night out for dinner.
Had a fantastic meal with the family on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was fantastic and we where greeted and waited on by a fantastic waiter. The whole evening was exactly what we where looking for....Great Cocktails, food and conversation! Highly recommend and we will most definitely be back!
Mill's Tavern was struggling with their new winter menu. As a result, our entrees were not served until ninety minutes after our orders were taken! The restaurant was apologetic and gave us both gift certificates and a reduction in our bill. We've been to Mill's Tavern many times, and we believe this was a very unfortunate exception to an otherwise fine dining experience.
Awesome dinner at Mills Tavern.. perfect night. Amazing food, great service by Nick.
Mills Tavern is always awesome. We went for our anniversary dinner on a Thursday after the new year so, a quiet night.
Food was spectacular. I had a pork chop with Brussel sprouts and my husband had the Beef Ragout with Pappardelle. The homemade desserts were yummy also.
Amazing food. Upscale atmosphere.
Excellent dinner -- food and service was great. Enjoyed the entire experience. Great New Years eve dinner
Went on New Year's Eve, restaurant was buzzing however we were seated immediately with our 7:15pm reservation. Our Server, Phil, was awesome - attentive without being overbearing. My girlfriend had the Stuffed Lobster and I the Filet Mignon. We enjoyed our fine leisurely dinner.
Disappointing. We went for NYE. Granted I know that is a busy time to go out to eat but wouldn't think anymore than a Saturday night. Plus our reservation was at 6 pm so its early in the night. Our server was very cordial and nice. The food took forever. When they finally brought our filet mignon's out, both mine and my wife's was cold. Not warm, not luke warm, they were cold. It was clear they had been sitting there and this is what contributed to the extremely long delay. I'm not sure if it was the server or the kitchens fault. They re-fired them so they returned warm, but were just gummy and texture was off at that point. Certainly the worst steak I can remember having in a long while. At that point we were just hungry and had plans afterwards.
Someone came over to quickly apologize. Assume it was a manager or assistant manager. We ended up having an extra glass of wine waiting for the steaks in the first place (and then to be re-fired). Figured they would comp that extra glass or something while we were sitting there for over an hour after the appetizers, but nope. They were humble about it, but would have thought it justified some sort of further gesture from management. Just disappointing. The place holds a special spot for my wife and I as the site of one of our first dates a decade ago. We go back about once a year, but think that may have been the last time. There are just too many other exceptional places in the area that can deliver on that type of experience.
We had an excellent pre-fixe New Year’s Eve dinner. We started with a delicious artisanal salad. My friend had a stuffed lobster and I had breast of duck with parsnip mash and red cabbage. Dessert was a scrumptious Portuguese bread pudding with Chantilly cream. Mill’s Tavern always delivers the most amazing dishes. A wonderful way to celebrate the dawning of a new year!
Excellent low key restaurant with outstanding food and a great dinks menu. highly recommend
Love this place! We always have great service, and waitstaff is SO personable and knows their stuff when it comes to menu and importance of being attentive to all guests! Highly recommend 💕
Wonderful dinner at Mills Tavern. Great service and food. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!
We have had some fantastic meals at Mills but December 26th — with a group of 11 — the food and the service was not great. The meat was over cooked.
We ordered the chicken pot pie and braised short ribs and were disappointed in both. Service was attentive and the surroundings were very attractive. We likely experienced just an off night with our dinner.
The food was very good. The one complaint I had was that I ordered the 10 oz filet and it was fatty. Cutting though it was difficult, even with the steak knife. Other than that, the dinner was fabulous.
Another outstanding meal. Recommend less salt on some dishes especially the Caesar salad
We made reservations but when we saw the table which was going to be cozy in between two other tables we opted to sit at the bar. The bartender, Jacob, was very good and didn’t rush us. The only criticism was the price of a glass of wine, $24/9 ounces for a decent glass. The more I thought about it the more i felt we totally overpaid, ridiculous mark-up. If we were offered a half bottle it would have been more reasonable as I noticed a half bottle on the online menu at $24. The food was delicious and the after dinner “taste” of a chocolate martini was decadent.
It was fantastic. Food was great
So very enjoyable
Excellent food, excellent service. Amazing and unique menu options, both food and drink. All worth the price.
My husband and I with another couple had a pre-concert dinner at Mill's Tavern. It was our first time at this restaurant, but it won't be our last. We were a bit hesitant about going to the restaurant because on a Saturday night, we were able to secure a table for 4 within 45 minutes of our desired time. So we assumed that this was not going to be a popular spot and that the food would be just "ok". We were wrong. The ambiance is very warm, romantic and inviting. We were seated at a comfortable table (i.e., not crowded/near another table, a lot of personal space) and were promptly greeted by the server. Two of us had a glass of Montepulicano (usually don't see this red wine available in restaurants), one person had a beer (they have ~ 5 - 6 beers on tap) and the last person had a whiskey (forget which one, but it was a high end brand). When we took our table, we told our server (Naomi) that we had concert tickets (at the Vets) and needed to leave within ~ 1 hour. She took note of this and I'm happy to say that our food came promptly, it was really great, and we walked out of restaurant at the planned time. The dinner menu has a lot of selections...numerous meats, pastas, and seafood choices. There were at least 3 entrees that I could have been happy with. I ultimately selected the beef ragu with pappardelle; excellent. One diner had the duck (cooked perfectly), risotto, and gnocchi. Had we had more time, I would have opted for the prix fixe menu; for $34.95 to me was a real bargain, especially considering how wonderful the food was. We were all very impressed and pleased with our meals. Mills Tavern is a comfortable and welcoming place for foodies, people on a romantic date or celebrating something special. We will be back!
This restaurant is a gem - good cocktails and wine list - outstanding food. I had the lamb special that was delicious perfectly paired with homemade couscous-
Food quality way over priced for what it is. Poor cut of beef that wasn't prepared properly.
Food was okay. I was a little disappointed especially with the price. My drink was mediocre and it’s $14. I would’ve expected more from this place and unfortunately it did not deliver.
Fun night out with good friends and great food. Madison was an excellent server! We sat where there was a cold draft every time the door opened....but it was not a big deal.
Enjoyed the festive holiday atmosphere and the valet parking service. We look forward to our next visit!
The place is a must go in Providence. Great food and service. On the pricier side but the meal was deserving of the price.
Nice atmosphere, excellent food, great service- will definitely be back!
5 star restaurant but very expensive. Nice for a special occasion.
Always a special treat at Mills, and this evening was no different. Food was amazing across the four meals we had. The flavors and artistic creation were aligned perfectly. The wine list is a special place to struggle over a decision. The staff could not be more professional, helpful, or pleasant. This was a Friday evening and was a perfect way to end the week.
Mills Tavern provided a wonderful 'date night' for our anniversary.
Great dinner in a beautiful room. Nice lighting and fireplace. The short rib and oysters were outstanding.
Everything was very nice...the food, the service, the ambiance.
The food; the service and the wine list were excellent. Service in a restaurant makes the meal extra special, even if the food was as good as it was.
The service was impeccable and the food was delightful!
Food was exceptional with diverse menu. Wait staff was pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. Wine flights were well chosen. Ambience was exquisite yet comfortable.
This is the 2nd year we went to Mills Tavern for Thanksgiving. The first year was outstanding. The chef had seasonal choices for the Thanksgiving menu that covered vegetarians. In fact, the vegetarian stuff pumpkin entree my husband had was the table favorite. This year, not only were the choices non-existent, but the turkey entree was mediocre at best. What happened to the passion and excitement that we tasted in 2017?
Thanksgiving in any restaurant can be problematic - holidays push a restaurant to its limits in many ways. However, our dinner at Mill's Tavern was terrific and showed none of the strain that holiday dining might bring.
Our meal was superb and the menu, somewhat limited because of the holiday, offered more than enough. No one in our party felt their choice was compromised. Two people in our party have food allergies and their needs were dealt with graciously and professionally. Because the kitchen and the chef were so accommodating we were all able to enjoy a fine dinner.
I'd especially like to acknowledge the superb service of Lynne Webster. She was attentive, accommodating, gracious, and knowledgable; she made maneuvering the many details of our dinner seem effortless. Lynne is a very personable woman who manages to be attentive and efficient without being in any way intrusive or disruptive. Lynne made us all feel welcome and comfortable and let us enjoy ourselves as if we were dining late on a quiet evening rather than at the start of a very busy holiday. She could not have been better and she was a stellar representative for Mill's Tavern.
We all enjoyed the day. We highly recommend Mill's Tavern. We will return.
The service was the highlight, but this is one of the top dining options for me in Providence.
