Taverns have had a constant important presence in American life since the late 1600's. Many of them, which were attached to inns, were opened as resting places for travelers needing a place to stop, relax and fortify themselves. Of course the local residents frequented the taverns too, purchasing drinks and meals as well as participating in lively conversations. Taverns were the focal point for neighbors to come together, exchange news, talk of politics, and share in the general feeling of conviviality. Taverns were firmly established as gathering places for the light hearted socializing, serious talk, and of course, a
hearty meal accompanied by a tasty libation or two.

Wonderful time as always! We’re meeting friends for dinner. The table they gave us was next to the door and we asked to change it. The hostess had no problem with our request. We were there a long time catching up with our friends, yet there was no obvious pressure to leave. Thank you Mills Tavern (and our server Lynn) for a wonderful evening!

The atmosphere was very quaint. Beautiful building and decor. The food was fantastic! We would definitely visit again. A great place for a date night!

Mills is always the best place to celebrate any occasion but even if you’re not celebrating anything, the staff at Mills still makes every visit special. We had the clam chowder as an app - the first time they had ever had it on the menu! Delicious!

We did not get anything we did not LOVE. The steaks and salmon were great, brussel sprouts, and the Affogato dessert was amazing.

My wife and I along with my sister were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It’s our annual visit to Mill’s. We weren’t disappointed. We started with the calamari appetizer, one of the best I’ve had. The mains were salmon,swordfish and pork tenderloin. All were excellent as were the sides of roasted potatoes and crispy Brussel sprouts. Desserts were chocolate cotton cheesecake x2 and a peach Melba sundae. All highly recommended. Everything was made all the better thanks to our server James. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Looking forward to our next visit.

Such a great night! James was very attentive, and the food was delicious! Arielle shared a delicious Cornas with us, and it paired perfectly. My wife loved that there were shishito peppers in the calamari as a nice spin on the RI classic Special shout out to the bone marrow sauce add on. It was nice to see a unique sauce available for the steak, even though it didn't need it. All and all, a great birthday!

As always we had a great experience at Mills Tavern our service was great the ambience was nice and our main meals were delicious. Only slight criticism is that the bread pudding was not as good as it usually is.
