Enjoyed Father’s Day Brunch! The staff was welcoming and attentive. The food was plentiful. The clams on the half shell and other seafood were outstanding. My Husband said the cinnamon bread French toast was the best he has ever had!

I love this place. Always great for a family celebration. We enjoy the history, the shopping village, the peacocks, and the overall ambiance. It’s always more than just a meal out. We also enjoy the food and the choices. The dinner portions are large but the appetizers are embarrassingly small. $24 for fried calamari that was in a small bowl. Ok won’t order that again. Empty restaurant but they initially jammed a party of 8 with a member of my party in a wheelchair into a tight corner. Why? I spoke up and got us moved a table over where there was much more space. Then we sat and sat and sat and waited for service. Again near empty restaurant. I finally needed to get up and go look for someone. Servers did not come around often enough. Plates stacked up on the table and drinks went unfilled. We still had a great time and enjoyed each other and the food. The servers were very nice, but again just very laxed and disengaged. For that level of dining and prices, they just need to step it up a bit.

I usually do not write a review but I am upset from yesterday dinner. We had dinner for birthday. First it took a long time to get the order. I ordered a burger medium. It came the burger was over done and so dry. Told the waiter he said do you want steak sauce for the dry burger. that is fine to ask me if I want sauce for a overdone burger which I ordered medium. Waiter did say he is sorry the ticket says medium he can redo the order. I was not going to wait another hour to get food. this place was empty had six people and waited over an hour to get the food. then food comes and it is wrong and then on top of that no manager came to apologize or adjust the bill nothing. we paid and left. will never come here again. Others should not also. if a place can not even make a medium burger than takes an hour to get food where the place is empty something is really wrong. i see now. I would stay away and go to other restaurants that know how to cook and treat its customers.

At this price point, you expect a lot more. This has become (essentially) a catering facility with a restaurant attached. Very pretty and massive in size, but overall a disappointment. Greeted at front door by three teenagers speaking amongst themselves in Spanish. “You guys can follow her” (2 of us weren’t guys). At this price point you expect a far more professional start than teenagers in black tights who look bored when you approach. No greeting other than “Reservation?” Worse than an Applebees. The best part of the meal is at the start: hot popovers and out-of-this-world cinnamon bread. The menu is somewhat limited and EXPENSIVE for a place that gives off a consistent mid-price vibe—loud pop music competing with music from a private event, servers speaking to each other from across the room, kids wandering around from a private event, grim looking managers walking the floor. The ambiance is just bad for a restaurant as pretty as this one. Going out is not simply about the food. Food was mixed. A very good chicken pot pie, a decent steak sandwich with home fries, a below average filet mignon (and end piece) hard as rock potatoes au gratin. An average $36 chicken dish. Service was fine. Water was kept filled. Food came at the right time. The usual “who got the steak sandwich?” When the food arrived, but that seems to happen nearly everywhere. But with the average entree at $35, sides being extra (although all meals come with sides) and salads between $12-26, you expect a lot more. Again, this is primarily a catering facility at this point.

Waited 45 minutes beyond the reservation time, even though we got there 10 minutes early.

Great atmosphere good food, but more staff needs to be hired. The service was extremely slow. This happened during Christmas time and today as well.

the experience was just wonderful! The value for the price was excellent. I was there during a prix fix meal. the salad was great! The main entree was skirt steak which was very delicious, tender and cooked just as I had asked. The seven layer cake was excellent! Of course, the popovers were fantastic! There service was outstanding. We were there more than 2 hours and never rushed out. It was a terrific experience!!

Definitely not what they used to be. To start off at the beginning of dinner they did not have any Popovers left. This is one of the things they are known for. How do you not plan to have enough for dinner service. The food was okay, however nothing special. We will not be back.
