I'm not sure if they were having a bad night, but the food wasn't that great my second time around. Very under-salted and overpriced.

Aside from the noise level, which seems to be loud at every restaurant in town, this is a wonderful restaurant. Attentive staff without hovering. Food worth the drive for. It is obvious why Chef Satterfield won his James Beard award.

Food was good, but previous visits it has been OUTSTANDING
Thus somewhat disappointing. Must of been a off night for the kitchen. Service was top notch!

I think it would be pointless to expound upon the already great niceties of this establishment, but my experience at Miller was top notch. The selection of single malts alone is worth the trip itself!

I've thought long and hard about what words to describe this restaurant and the phrase "Fancy Mediocrity" keeps popping up. It presents itself as a very hip, upscale restaurant but the food does not match the trappings. The restaurant's signature appetizer is a poached egg in some sort of watery cream sauce. The waiter told me that I should break the yolk and stir it in the sauce, which I did. The result was a slimy concoction that was hard to scoop onto my little piece of toast. Next course, flank steak, was ok but the dark sauce which covered it was very salty. The salt from the sauce overwhelmed the little vegetables scattered around the plate. The desert, like the rest of the meal that preceded it, was mostly left uneaten. We went there because it was ranked highly but that ranking must have been based on meals served a while ago because the place we visited seemed tired and worn out, like all the fun and innovation had been sucked out of it.

Totally enjoyed the creativity of the chef and the varied menu of local seasonal produce.
Our appetizers were delish. One should not skip the fritters, scallops, or baked egg. The app menu could be a meal of its own.
I had the veggie plate. It was so interestingly tasty that I doubt I will ever eat a different entree here! I must mention the scallops appetizer should be a main dish; never had scallops that were so uniquely prepared. Definitely addictive flavors!
We went prior to seeing Hillary Clinton Live at the Fox. The wait staff was timely, attentive, and knowledgeable. Cannot say enough about this place...All four of us were members of the clean plate club!

Food was ok and service was horrible. Ordered a specific glass of wine and got two different ones. Sweet potatoes were burnt both times after requesting new ones. Waitstaff was clueless and unapologetic.

We came from NJ to see our child at Tech with my brother and sister-in-law. I ate at Miller Union on my last visit and thought it was interesting enough to revisit.

This was our first meal upon arrival. I made the reservation long ago, yet was placed out on the porch when we arrived. I had the trout, which was overcooked and not very eye appealing when plated. No one commented on their food, which I think is revealing in and of itself.

A giant "meh"

Millers Union was an amazing choice! We had a great server who was very familiar with the menu and extremely friendly. A one of a king server and experience. The food was amazing. The egg in celery cream was incredible as was the gumbo. We had a blast.

In Atlanta for a convention, we needed a place for healthy, farm-to-table, great cuisine with a southern twist. From a list of 20 recommended restaurants, the menu at Miller Union stood out, and our party of 11 loved what came next! Un-rushed service, unusual food (and English champagne--who knew!), accommodation of our guest of honor and extra guests, and even the taxi back downtown. When the check arrived after an abundant dinner, even that was a pleasant surprise! A definite repeat the next time in Atlanta!

We booked a reservation almost a month in advance for my SO's birthday. Valet is complimentary, because parking is a bear. Tips are welcomed, of course ;) We were running about 10min behind our reservation and our other couple was further behind due to a child getting sick at the last moment. We were immediately seated with no wait (even given our partial party). Our server was so kind, and when told about the child was very apologetic. He also made good recommendations. We had the seafood gumbo, others had the skirt steak and we tried the pork belly appetizer. Drinks were good. There was a delay on food arriving, so chef sent a complimentary appetizer of the feta and pea hummus spreads. It was refreshing. The entrees were so-so from a flavor profile perspective. I'd be interested and willing to trying again for dessert and other dishes Bc customer service was superb. Good atmosphere as well.

We did not have a good time at this restaurant. The food was extremely overpriced. My husbands duck was as small as a tapas portion of duck he gets regularly elsewhere, and cost twice as much, and he said it wasn't as good. I got the gumbo, which had good flavor but was full of crab shells, and again I found to be overpriced. The noise was excessive, we were crammed in a small room with only 8 tables, rather than having a nice open layout like most Atlanta restaurants. This made our noisy neighbors impossible to ignore, as their noise echoed through the little room. The decorations were creepy, there were dusty old (real) turtle shells lined up along the wall in our room, which was disgusting to me.

A friend and I had her birthday lunch there. They don't actually do anything special for a birthday, but it is a nice place to go. The food was so good and not the usual. It is an updated, southern cuisine. We had fried chicken and the vegetable plate and shared both. Fried chicken gives two pieces. We also had one of the ice cream sandwiches and cut it in half. It was plenty of food, but not too much. Everything was very good.

Miller Union has never disappointed me. The creativity and local ingredient emphasis of the chef is what make this a special place. Ambiance is comfortable and pleasant. We like to go early. Don't be timid about the veggie plate. It is a big meal and crazy good. My wife and I like to get an entire with meat and the veggie plate, then share.

We dined there with our daughters and had a fairly nice time. This was our 5th dinner at Miller Union. The food wasn't as exceptional as it had been in the past which was slightly disappointing, given the cost. Our waiter, while very knowledgeable was a tad overbearing, often interrupting our conversation to regale us with his expertise on all things food and wine. It became a bit too much. The service was slow, but I think that had more to do with the kitchen vs. our waiter, and various wait staff kept putting newly filled water bottles on a shelf behind my husband which was annoying. We won't give up on the restaurant altogether, but we'll wait awhile before trying them again.

I was disappointed by the size and simplicity of the steak salad. Besides being small considering the cost of $15, there was nothing special about it. I was expecting more out of a chef based restaurant. The interiors was cool and the bar seemed like a decent space. Not sure that I can recommend it at this point.

Waiter was knowledgeable about wine and helped us pick a wonderful bottle. Apple crumble dessert was delicious, the flavor of apple was complex and prominent. I enjoy bathroom design and the only negative thing I can say about our experience is that the bathroom was boring, very clean though!

This is an excellent restaurant and we generally enjoy whatever we order. One of our dishes this visit was the gumbo. In the past is has been excellent. However, on this occasion it used a much lighter roux, was lacking in flavor and the vegetables were poorly cooked. It was awful. I hope it was a substitute cook rather than a change in recipe. If a new recipe, please go back to the older one.

While we enjoyed the food very much, the space was not very pleasing. We were first seated in a very tiny atrium that seated 4 two top tables. We asked to be moved for a bit more breathing room and were then offered a space in a dark, windowless room. As people who greatly appreciate food and the experience of dining were very disappointed in atmosphere.
The food, however, was of stark contrast to the atmosphere. Bright, beautiful, fresh flavors. The duck with a sweet potato purée and wheat berries was exceptional. The egg over celery cream was spectacular, with one caveat. The waiter presented the dish and smashed the yolk up at the table along with all the white of the egg, creating an unpleasant texture with the broken up whites. Would have loved the dish otherwise. Next time would ask for the egg to not be broken up.
All things said, would return but probably sit at the bar if the main dining seating were not available.

Exceptional experience start to finish. Don’t make an assumption from the commercial exterior because the inside is cozy cool. Wine list is varied but not overwhelming. There are thoughtful import gems, so explore. We had a Sancerre recommended by our server & he was spot on in his description. He made clear that if you are a game eater, MU has a bit of it all. The table next to us had duck, beef and pork - all looked amazing. But we went a different direction. We started with the white bean hummus which was tasty and definitely a small starter. We split the seasonal salad of peas and boiled peanuts on a bed of whipped ricotta with Meyer lemon. The texture and subtlety of this dish made me wish for seconds. We had the swordfish with the vegetable sampler. Both were well seasoned, varied and beautifully plated. I loved that the heirloom tomatoes were a side and had just enough salt to bring out the flavor. The butternut squash was served with apples and granola. I was skeptical at first but what a great idea! We finished with the salted caramel ice cream sundae made with a blonde base — all made on site. Even the black coffee was rich. If you get to Atlanta, make the effort to get to Miller Union

I’m not sure why this restaurant was named number 2 in Atlanta by a local magazine. I ordered the chestnut ravioli with chèvre and blue cheese with pear, the ingredients should have created a delicious mix but unfortunately the sauce was watery, chunky pieces of pear, the dish did not come together well.
Our other guest had the coffee rubbed brisket, very tender but flavorless. Lastly, the seafood gumbo, a light broth gumbo with little taste.
Rarely do I give reviews, but I could not this one slide by.
