Wonderful appetizers and drinks. Main courses are as good, we just had none today. Good cocktails, good service. Always a great experience.
Always a pleasure to be at MU and we will certainly go back.
Amazingly enough, this was my first trip to Miller Union. That said, the food was fine... yep, that's about it... fine. It was just basically nothing to write home about. The white bean hummus was very good, with delicate crispy flatbread so we were off to a good start. The grits fritters were good, just good. My apricot glazed duck leg was (I hate to say it) "fine." The plate was coated with an olive green sauce that was utterly tasteless, but the other components of the dish were good, though nothing special. My friend had the steak and even though it was quite rare (pretty much raw, though ordered medium rare), was dry and tasteless. The chocolate silk pie was a good finish to the meal and was the only part I would call excellent.
On the service side - brilliant. The waiters are super attentive and you will want for nothing, except better tasting food.
Always an excellent experience here. The clams were creative and delicious. Always listen to the recommendation of the sommelier, they have an excellent list but it's sometimes hard to pair on your own. And try the housemade grapefruitcello!
Wine s are the best I have seen in Atlanta. Fits our idea of best food
We were visiting Atlanta with friends for spring break. My strategy for selecting restaurants when in unfamiliar territory is to find multiple credible sources and cross reference them. Miller Union was highly rated on all three. Then I kept seeing it on Best Of lists. I got pretty excited about the prospect and was a bit surprised that it was so easy to get a reservation. It was extraordinary. Our table was 6 and everyone agreed. I found myself saying how good the food was over and over again. I ordered the spare ribs and my mouth is watering at the memory. There were 3 major elements to the plate and all 3 went marvelously together. I wasn’t drinking that night (Lent) but a glass of wine would’ve made it stellar as those who did drink we’re pleased with the wine list and the bottles they ordered.
From the moment you step inside, to the valet fetching your vehicle..Miller Union does not disappoint! The farm egg remains my favorite appetizer; the entrees our four top had were all expertly prepared; and the desserts? Wow! We try and make it there whenever we are in Atlanta. Dining there makes every trip more memorable! Thanks to all the Staff, they work hard to make it that way!!!
Excellent dinner. I was not thrilled by our waiter's multiple attempts to upsell us on our wine choice but other than that is was excellent. Our dinners, bass and duck, were excellent.
Dinner was excellent! Service was exceptional. Higjly Recommend this place for any occasion.
Our server was excellent, though we were treated a bit brusquely by both the host and bartender. We were seated promptly at our reservation time (yay!) but had arrived early to have a cocktail and there is little to no space for that, so plan on aperitifs at the table or elsewhere. Atmosphere is typical of what is current—rustic modern? Food is good but neither of us felt like each dish couldn’t have been improved by something—pork belly of exceptional flavor was unfortunately tough and chewy; one of the creamiest, most lush diver scallops I’ve had in a while was not enhanced at all by bland pea purée and musty-flavored, fibrous slivers of raw kohlrabi. Clam entree was all over the place, and a DELICIOUS warm pecan tart with salted caramel was oddly paired with citrus sorbet. Pound cake with rosemary ice cream was just plain bad in my opinion, though my friend said it was “fine.” I noted that he didn’t eat it.
All in—this would be a great neighborhood spot to pop into, but we won’t be planning a return trip (we also ate here years back when they opened and had same opinion then, but recent recognition had us try again).
We had a light meal before the theater and I thought it was wonderful. The server was excellent; she was efficient and friendly and made good suggestions. I can hardly wait to go back.
Our daughter told us that people were saying this was the best restaurant in Atlanta, so my husband I drove over to the West side to have dinner. We arrived early so decided to sit at the bar and dine instead of waiting on our table. The food was wonderful and the bartender was attentive and very knowledgeable and skilled. We noticed that there are a lot of regulars, so the food and service must be consistent. I had the oysters for an appetizer and the short ribs for the entree. Both were delicious!
Food is just ok. Extremely loud.
My only concern was finding the place even with Waze. Would love to see better signage. Great evening though.
Was very disappointed in my dinning experience. We sat in a room without windows. The pork loin was ok, but the choice of veggies was terrible. I will not be back.
The food was delicious and well priced for what we got. I could easily see paying 5 to 10 dollars more for some of the dishes at other fine dining restaurants. The service was excellent and attentive. Very knowledgeable of the seasonality of the menu and of the cocktails and whiskies offered at the bar. We would definitely dine here again.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Would recommend.
We had the grits fritters and pork belly for apps and enjoyed both. The wife had the pork loin which was okay, but nothing special. I had the grilled quail, which was good. Maybe we heard too much hype about Miller Union so our expectations were overly high, but we were both a little underwhelmed by the overall experience. We’ve had many better dining experiences in Atlanta.
Another fantastic meal at Miller Union! The food was mouthwateringly delicious and the wine was perfect with all of our selections. It is our go to place for all celebrations and the place we take friends when we want to relax and catch up.
Miller Union continues on a roll as one of Atlanta's best restaurants. You just can't beat the lunch there, where the dishes continually morph as the seasons change. The wine list is superb: broad, interesting, reasonably priced.. Can't say enough good about the people at Miller Union, from the top down.
Ate at the bar for a delicious lunch, Bethany was a terrific server/barkeep, great experience
We were entertaining business colleague/friend who is a European foodie. Miller Union did not disappoint! The food and the wine list was much appreciated and the wine list included French selection that he said were even challenging to find in Geneva. The clam dish with sausage, potatoes and cauliflower was outstanding and unique. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Incredible meal and experience. The food was delicious and gorgeous. The service was wonderful from the front desk to the server. I will book again and tell all of my friends!
Very expensive for what we ate and the options were very slim. I understand everything is greasy but you need to provide more options. My steak was also over cooked.
we were a group of 4. The only appetizer we all agreed was very good was the pork belly with greens. Pasta dish and short ribs were tasteless. We did not eat but a couple of bites. My son ordered quail and he gave it a 6 but he did clean his plate. Bass was good but not great. We all thought having a JB award we would be certain of a great meal. Guess they give these awards out to anyone. Sorry for this review but maby we just hit you on a bad night.
One of the best experience I’ve had in Atlanta dinning!!!!
Miller Union has a very limited menu for lunch. The food was adequate, but not of the caliber I'd expect from this type of restaurant. I won't be going back anytime soon as there are too many other wonderful places in Atlanta.
Wonderful restaurant. Will not disappoint. We'll be back.
This is just another food establishment business. They serve average upscale food. This isn't the first time that I have been to a Beard-awarded chef's restaurant only to find the staff disinterested in what comes out.
Such a brilliant restaurant. Chef Satterfield and team are so so good.
Excellent menu with outstanding cocktails and wine
My son and I visited Georgia Tech and were looking forward to a fabulous meal to end our day of walking and touring. Miller Union exceeded our expectations. Neal is gracious and knows his wine. Allison, our server, guided us perfectly through the delectable menu. We cannot to return!
phenomenal dining experience per usual.
Took my wife to MU for Valentine’s day - it was our first visit to the restaurant. We live close so we walked - there is only valet parking but there are some side streets you can self park in. We were seated at a booth/table combo in the middle of the restaurant. Our waiter was very nice, knowledgeable & patient. My wife ordered the littleneck clams & I order the grass fed strip steak - it was absolutely fantastic. The clams were cook perfectly. The fish sauce was super savory with the aoili. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked spot on. I dont usually enjoy sweet potatoes but the sweet potato bravas was a perfect contrast with the slightly salted broccolini. The cocktails were solid craft selections but the food was so good the chef def outshines the bartender. It is expensive so we wouldn’t eat there regularly but it is well worth the ticket. One of best restaurants in the city.
My wife and I went to Miller Union for Valentine’s Day. We are generally hesitant about going to a restaurant on this day, as it is often crowded at most restaurants, but based on the reputation of Miller Union, we booked a table about five weeks early for the occasion. We have been to Miller Union several times in the past, and usually enjoy the freshness of the food and the care given to the preparation of the vegetables in particular. This time was no different. We began with a glass of bubbly and ordered the hummus and side of beets. They were delicious, but from the moment we sat down, our server was in a hurry for us to order so he could turn over the table. Plus, if you’re in the center room at Miller Union, you have very little space between tables, and the noise level was high - not very romantic. We were also rushed through our main courses of ravioli and Brussels sprouts. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine and looked forward to ordering dessert. My wife asked for a different scoop of ice cream than what accompanied the cake. We then received a lecture from the server that the menu is chef-driven and no changes could be made. The dialogue lasted a few uncomfortable minutes, and we decided to skip the dessert. As we were leaving, we talked to the manager, and she gave us the same lecture and said that the server was only following his orders because they are too busy on Valentine’s Day to customize anything to individual tastes. Although Miller Union has a good reputation, we have decided not to return to the restaurant. It’s a shame that being rushed and lectured by a restaurant is what we remember most clearly about our dinner out on Valentine’s Day.
Great experience for Valentines dinner! We were seated shortly after our reservation time, order was taken, then it was delivered! Food was great! Farm egg is a must, skirt steak and bass were tasty! Dessert was great as well, chocolate pie and vanilla custard.
Duck was awesome
