We dined on the very day that we learned of the passing of Anthony Bourdain. It was a reminder of how he changed the value system for how a restaurant 'works'. Miller Union is an authentic and total dining and service experience where you get the feeling that the entire staff from front to back are food enthusiasts.
Our meal was delicious! All the ingredients were very fresh. I got the pork tenderloin which at some restaurants can be very dry and bland, but this was anything but. It was cooked to perfection and came with a creamy rice with a fresh lemon-y sauce to go with it, it was fantastic. Our server was amazing, I cant remember her name, but she rocked! Steered us in the right direction for everything. My coworkers had the duck and quail and both said their meals were very memorable.
After dinner we got dessert. We shared the cookies and ice cream, holy man were they so good! I don't think I had a favorite cookie, they were all baked to perfection! And the ice cream and caramel sauce were fantastic as well!
If I am in Atlanta again, I will come back and eat here.
Great food! Everything was delicious
Our 2nd dining experience at MU. Our waiter was much friendlier than waiter from our first time dining. We luv’d the seared scallops appetizer. We split the duck and it was thoughtfully split into two plates for us. We also had shared the lamb shoulder based on our waiter’s recommendation. My better half liked the duck better, but I could not believe how the lamb shoulder just melted in my mouth. Cocktails were strong and on point. The only meh was the dessert. We had the chocolate custard, but was not blown away. We left much of it untouched.
We have been to Miller’s Union before for dinner and really liked their food menu. This time around we were seated in a very noisy and busy hallway in the restaurant which we pointed out to the hostess who then offered us seating in the bar area or on the outside patio. Both better but not in line with the kind of experience that you expect from one of the highest rated places in Atlanta.
Appetizers were as expected. The downfall came with the main course. It was pork loin for me which was completely overcooked and had to be returned. On their second attempt the temperature was medium as requested but the meat was not tender at all. Quite disappointing. The restaurant did compensate this main course. Desert (Pavlova) was very good.
Overall not the kind of experience we used to have at this restaurant. With all the choices available in Atlanta we probably won’t be back. Too bad.
My husband's entrée and my sides came out before my scallop entrée - long enough that the waiter apologized twice. But, nothing was done to make up for it. Also, my husband's pork was overcooked and dry - he only ate a couple of pieces and left the rest but the waiter did not ask if anything was wrong with it.
Fabulous service and food! A definite must go to place when traveling to Atlanta
Two in our party had duck and lamb, with no sides. They were happy with their entrees. Two of of us had the ravioli. The pasta was tough and there was not much filling. The vegetables that accompanied the pasta were not particularly flavorful. We also ordered the sauted greens. There was just one type of greens which were very tough and had no seasoning except maybe
the oil they were cooked in. Overall disappointed with our experience.
Great space for small or large groups, it looks like they accommodate both. Food was great, the oysters specifically. The hostess could’ve been a little more pleasant looking. She kept running into the room of about 8 tables frantically as if she was waiting for a party to leave when there were multiple open tables. That was my only complaint. She did so about 7-10 times throughout the meal. She was also not very friendly when I walked in and mentioned my reservation. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Will be returning!
Based upon previous visits expectations were high...unfortunately just another Tuesday night.
Farm egg was well cooked but lacked seasoning and nary a hint of celery in the celery cream.
Shrimp appetizer was overly tart. The vegetable plate was apparently a victim of the in-between season more winter than spring. The rabbet was a bit dry but the rest of the ingredients raised it to the very good level.
generally, the restaurant did not live up to three owner's pedigree.
Girls night catch up!
Service was very poor. We waited about 20 minuets for our adult beverages. It took about 30 minuets to get our appetizers and another 30 to 45 minuets to get our entrees. I ordered the duck. It was great, but the sides were lacking seasoning and were very bitter. Overall bad experience and I probably will not be back.
Don’t think we could have been more disappointed!!! After reading reviews & seeing the Chef was a James Beard award winner thought we would celebrate our 45th wedding Anniversary here. The Farm Egg appetizer was totally with out taste. When we asked Julie, our server, for pepper twice we finally stopped a table runner & finally got pepper. The toast served with it was burnt. My lamb & husband’s pork were both beyond bland. When we asked the 2 ladies seated next to us how their food was ... response was “ the only decent part was the Herb sauce”When they left they told us they were headed to a nearby Food Truck to have dinner. That about sums it up.
Food was good, portions a bit small for the price points. Not much to write about really other than that. It won’t be one of those memorable meals I urge people to experience.
Excellent, duck was outstanding, service was perfect
Miller Union never disappoints. We had a large group with a fairly last minute reservation to enjoy a pre-Memorial Day lunch. We came for the burger and the wine but left talking about the fried chicken and the Sauternes. Deviled eggs and feta snack are classics. Wish they had the celery cream at lunch.
A $60 lunch for two where we both left hungry. The hummus appetizer tasted good enough but came in a little dish smaller than what Delta Air Lines uses for the first class nuts. The entrees were just OK, and the server seemed to want to be anyplace else. Won’t go back for a while.
Went for an anniversary lunch and the service and food were outstanding! We shared one of their incredible house made ice cream sandwiches and they even put a candle on the plate!
Steven Satterfeild never disappoints. This is our favorite restaurant and always schedule Miller Union into an event downtown. The menu is local and creative. Staff is knowledgeable of ingredients which are out of the ordinary. If you’re looking for good food that is unique and creatively prepared, then go to Miller Union.
Always outstanding. This visit was not a disappointment. The burger is great for lunch. High quality, perfectly prepared and delicious. The house-made bologna sandwich was something different the right about of greens and pickles with just the right amount of spicy mustard. Make sure that if you go, you save room for the house-made ice creams sandwiches... the perfect ending to a great lunch.
Another great dinner! The food and service are impeccable. Also enjoyed interesting cocktails, and probably the best wine list in Atlanta.
This is my third time at MU. Always good and on point. Excellent wine list. The server was very attentive and conversed with us. Telling us about his background and suggesting food and drink combinations that paired very nicely.
Well worth the visit and food.
The egg and cream was so good, but the charcuterie for $21 was ridiculously small, we got three small, thin pieces of sausage, one small piece of prosciutto, some stuffed sauce, some bologna, three pieces of pickle vegetable, and 1/2 teaspoon of grainy mustard.
Our drinks were pretty good. Our entrees were good, but not great for the reputation and cost. The broth for the fish and chicken were under seasoned and lacked depth of flavor. The lamb was a little too salty, but better in flavor, but again, just not great or better than other meals I’ve had elsewhere.

Excellent food and variety. Really unique dining experience and a wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend for a date or special occasion!
The entire experience was exceptional as always. Love this place. Julie and Neal make you feel comfortable. The waitstaff is top notch. Seth was perfect tonight. The food is perfect my salad was a blend of cooked, pickled and raw vegetables. Each handled perfectly and all blending together in a delightful way. I may go back tomorrow for lunch!

For a restaurant that has been referred to as on of
Atlanta’s best for years, we weren’t terribly impressed.
Food was good but not as good as I had remembered. Service was top notch! Prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get.
Excellent lunch menu and perfect place to catch up with a good friend. It continues to be my go to place for lunch and dinner.

It was just okay. My friend visited from NYC and she was excited to try it. Food presentation was nice and dishes were creative. Nothing tasted bad but nothing knocked our socks off either. It was $200+ for 5 people for lunch; which isn’t totally unreasonable but we all kinda left a little unsatisfied. Also our sides didnt come out until we asked to check on them and by the time we got them we were all finished with out food because the portions were quite small. Overall, not as great as we had hoped but I did like that their menu incorporated seasonal veggies and was unique.
The food was bland. I ordered the pork tenderloin it was very tough. I could not eat it. My husband ordered the fish it was very plain. But the service was very good, but i would not waste my time or money.
Miller Union has been one of my favorite restaurants since it opened. This last visit earned it the spot of absolute favorite. Steven Satterfied, chef and co-owner, is a culinary genius. This is the kind of food you savor every bite of. Put a bite in your mouth and let the flavors sink in. The menu changes with the seasons and the chef strives to use local ingredients. We had scallops for a starter, and I had the duck leg with apricot glaze and root vegetable hash. My husband had the strip steak with potatoes, carrots, and greens. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection, with careful attention to details and subtleties. Service was impeccable from the being greeted at the valet, the front door, and our server, to being thanked for coming for the evening from all staff. I look forward to our next visit!

I went with a small group of colleagues and was very happy with the meal; the sautéed shrimp appetizer was very good and the lamb shoulder was delicious. Brief but very good beer selection and the service was impeccable...very attentive without being bothersome, very quick to deliver drinks and food, and the waitress was a delight. Definitely recommend MU.
If I could give this place 6 out of 5 stars I would. Incredible service, amazing food and great atmosphere. Each dish felt so carefully thought out and prepared. I’m not from ATL, but I would certainly go again next time I am back. The customer we brought with us was very impressed.

Beautiful ambience with great service. Most importantly, the food was phenomenal. Delicately balanced flavors. Total home run. The rose we chose was delightful as well.
