Mill Pond House Ratings and Reviews
There were five of us for Sunday brunch. The service was not good. Had to ask several times for different things - ice tea refill, coffee refill, the side order of spinach was never delivered so just cancelled it finally. One person ordered bacon and eggs ala cart and the meal was cold. The creme brûlée which should be warm was not cooked, runny, and cold. Been there many times in the summer and always good. It was not busy so not sure what the problem was. It was a disappointment for entertaining out of town guests.
Stopped in for an early Friday night dinner before show in northport. Salads were large and delicious. Asked for duck to be crispy and it was. Attentive but not intrusive service. Must say the dining room is too dark. Everyone was using his phone to read the menu. Maybe I am getting old but I do like to see what I am eating
Had a wonderful dinner with a friend. Service was great. The sushi was awesome, as always. Love the atmosphere of the enclosed outdoor patio. My only complaint is that it's so dark in the restaurant that everyone (including me) had to use their phone flashlights to be able to read the menu, which is annoying/distracting. I think would be worthwhile to consider adding a little more lighting at each table.
Everything was great except the maitre de forgot to tell the waiter that it was me birthday even though he asked my husband when we walked in which woman had the birthday. On the way out we told him. He made good by giving us a gift card and dessert to take home.
Great restaurant! Have dined here before, never disappoints. This time we sat in the outside back room-such a beautiful, relaxing view of the water. Excellent wait staff quickly got us set up with drinks, great bread, and menus. Outstanding food from appetizers through dessert. All of this just added to a wonderful dining experience with close friends. Thank you Mill Pond House! Highly recommend. Valet parking a plus.
We went for restaurant week and three of the four appetizers and three of the four entrees were terrific, the fourth, chicken parmiagana, was okay. While the portion was generous the sauce lacked authenticity.
Cocktails were good, and my drink, was made to order.
We were able to sit outside and that was an added bonus in November. Staff attentive and courteous.
The next morning, I reviewed my bill, and they charged me $50 for a $42 special. I went back and the hostess refunded me $5 plus tax. When I questioned why I only got $5 instead of the $8 I was overcharged she started getting snippy insisting that it was $45. She backed down when I told her I have a picture of the specials. So she refunded me another $3, but not the tax. Never got a single apology. They just lost a regular customer!
Met a friend for lunch on a beautiful Fall day. Sat on the porch overlooking the beautiful Mill Pond. The prix fixed menu was delicious. Had an excellent crab cake, salmon with quinoa and a warm apple crisp with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. We will definitely go again,
This was great! We went for our first wedding anniversary, and it was phenomenal. I had a specialty cocktail - can't remember the name, but it was rum and pineapple juice and delicious! For appetizer, we had the burnt tips - filet mignon with an orange flavored sauce and onions and mushrooms - amazing! I had the duck entree, and my husband the cornish hen. Everything was phenomenal!
