milk & honey Ratings and Reviews
The food tasted good and is nicely presented but it is over priced for just tapas/ small plates. The lack of creativity in the food does not match the price. I would not recommend this for large groups as the plates are made to share for two people. Also do not expect authentic Spanish Tapas and there wasn't really anything that stood out from the menu.
Food was better than I remembered. The vegetable dishes were great. The appetizers were wonderful - so good we re-ordered. We split the main dishes among our large group and it was the perfect amount of food - had room for the desserts! Our server was great - perfect timing and accommodated our needs well.
Great food undeserving of the LOUSY SERVICE. Sat next to the server computer station and we were still ignored! "Booths" are atrocious so insist on a table which will have hard seats but at least it's a chair. Otherwise you are on a short bench leaning against a wall with no padding and no space. No way to have a romantic date or business conversation. Just awkward and clearly designed to make you want to leave quickly... which is exactly what we did. They're turning the tables but missing so much more revenue from people moving on to eat elsewhere. If you must go (and you've been warned), make your tip reflect the terrible service you get. Maybe they'll get the message eventually. Or train a new crew.
We were seated outside as requested. Unfortunately we sat there for 15 minutes without any staff acknowledging us. We were the only ones seated in this section, and several different servers or hostesses had walked passed us. We left after 15 minutes; truly a shame. Won't be trying this resturant again.
Milk & Honey is good as usual. Host was very accommodating. I called to let her know we'd be late, and she was very nice on the phone and told us we'd be fine. Food and drinks were great. My favorite drink was definitely the Lavender Lemondrop!! It's not on the happy hour menu but I'm okay with that. We had the Brussels sprouts, tacos, dates with pigs, sweet potato fries (which was absolutely addicting!!) and all was awesome. Great service and ambiance for sure! Happy hour menu is always awesome and DEFINITELY a GREAT deal!!!
We found Milk & Honey on Open Table and were impressed when we first walked in. The lighting set a clam mood, music was great, and the little side table for 2 was somewhat romantic and private. We wanted to try Milk & Honey because of their interesting names of their dishes. Our favorite tapas was, I Love Pork Butt, so much we ordered 2. The salad, Just Beet It was also delicious. We will be back for more when we are in town.
Small narrow space, very dark. Small but serviceable wine list including by the glass. The salad was a disappointment - just seemed to be greens & dressing. Things looked up as the rest of the tapas arrive - bacon wrapped dates, Brussels sprouts & sliders - had to send the sliders back as they were undercooked. Also, they were out out chorizo bites (boo!)
Always great. Interesting innovative dishes and cocktails. A wide variety sure to please any palate or diet. We live in Santa Barbara and this is one of our go-to places to bring friends from out of town. Not cheap - but not crazy - and worth it! Will certainly continue visiting Milk and Honey - nice job.
we went with another couple who tries to 'eat lite' - and had a fun time. My husband laughed saying it was a gal place :-) Cocktails were fun, i love the chance to try lots of different and very creative things. Salmon, ahi tuna, salad, chorizo bites, mini tacos, "pig on a date," - all yummy. Our waitress was very good, but she didn't share her suggestions for what she thought we might really enjoy and should try....
