My partner ordered the Matzah ball soup and half a corned beef sandwich. The soup was cold and not good, even after they heated it up. The bread was stale. Corned beef ok. My falafel came with yogurt sauce poured over it and it wasn't mentioned on the menu. I'm a vegan and will not be back.

Mile End is a Montreal-style Jewish Deli. To that end, it is not high on ambiance. The food was very good, although the portion of my $15 smoked meat sandwich was small and came with no accompaniments (I even had to pay for the pickles, which are usually complimentary at most delis). I was headed to a show at a nearby theater, so it was convenient at that time, but I would not travel out of my way to go there.

It is a terrific place to eat. I love the Brooklyn one although much smaller . The manhattan one has much more space. But the food in both places is wonderful, delicious and the service is great.

Great spot for brunch - especially since they take reservations. Our table was ready even though we arrived a few minutes early. Service was friendly, prompt and professional but we never felt rushed. Will definitely be back. Will definitely recommend.

Montreal-style smoked meat is spot on! The smoked meat burger is everything right about the fusion of old and new world cuisine. Can't wait to go back.

Maybe we just came on the wrong night, but I left pretty disappointed. Our poutine, while tasting great, arrived with cold gravy and cheese (rather unappetizing). My sandwich was meh - something I'd normally pay half the price for at a bodega. Otherwise, the staff & ambience are fantastic.

Sadly, not what I was hoping for. I went specifically for the poutine, and it was cold, had to be sent back. When it came back, it was still cool on top, but I was hungry and wanted to leave so I ate it anyway. My husband got the Hoyt Dog (hot dog with "special relish") and spent the whole night on the toilet. He's told me no way no how will he ever go back there. It's a shame because the service was really nice and friendly, and it was a nice place to sit in, with interesting music and brews. But the food was just not good, and it wasn't cheap either. Maybe they were having a bad night, I don't know.

My stepdaughter and I ended up sharing the latkes and the Mont Royal. Everything was delicious, although the latkes are not to my style and taste. They were almost like mashed potatoes on the inside and a hard crust on the outside. I designed my own dish cobbled together from things we were sharing on the table: the woodfired bagel just a little bit of cream cheese sour cream caviar and salmon together with capers. Yum. You can name it after me if you wish. 😊 Everything else was fantastic and the people, wait staff, are especially nice.

Went to take a break from Katz's and figured this would be easier on the stomach since were drinking afterwards. Meat was good, rye bread was outstanding but sandwiches were kind of small. One of my friends, who hasn't been able to finish a Katz's sandwich in years, finished his sandwich before I did. This is different than Katz's since the meat isn't nearly as spicy. The sandwich cost $15 which is about $5 less than Katz's but the sandwiches here are less than half the size.
Nice place and very good service.

Great little neighborhood deli. Owners hail from Montreal and bring their delicious smoked meat to NYC. We were here for poutine week and had the wild mushroom poutine special which was also great. Highly recommended!

What fun! We never eat in a deli but have been wanting to try Mile End for some time--and we were not disappointed. The split pea soup is perhaps the best we have ever had in a restaurant. That was followed by a smoked meat on rye with all the fixings and a turkey Rueben, not deluxe. The sandwiches were great and the accompanying beers were perfect for the food. We were very early and I'm sure it can get busy, but it was rather pleasant to eat quietly. Next time the poutine--maybe.

The only reason I came by was for the Chilaquiles Poutine. I found the flavors tasty but my egg was not cooked to my specifications and I couldn't eat all of it. Otherwise, the dish was quite satisfying.

The food is consistently delicious and the service is always attentive and friendly.

This place is amazing but as is the case with a lot of New York restaurants, they are more concerned with flipping the tables than allowing you to enjoy your meal and conversation. They usually have the same set of waitressss working and when the place is not super busy, they are friendly and nice. When the volume turns up though, they become all business and no smiles or friendly banter. The food here, though is top notch and I always leave satisfied with the quality and the value.

i loved the idea of this restaurant and was excited to finally go for brunch. It was not a happy experience. The service was reasonably good but the food was not. In particular, the brisket ends with the breakfast platter were so salty as to be inedible (and I like salt)! Potato pancakes were ok but really you can have them a thousand times better at veselka or ukranian national home a few blocks away. also, there is a distinctly meaty odor that did not bother me but turned off the kids in my party. So sorry to have to give a terrible review but wow what a disappointment. Was so looking forward to it, but was sorely disappointed and will not return.
