Milano - Latham NY
Food & Service were wonderful. Just one minor complaint- I requested a glass of wine, which I was told they were out of. I then selected another wine, and again, was told they were out of it. Our server made a suggestion of another wine , which I did order. However, it would have been a nice gesture to have that wine be discounted, to some degree. My ONLY suggestion.
Bartender- Amanda was knowledgeable,friendly,attentive
Menu- missing some previous dishes like Fettuccine Rosalind.
Sauces seemed heavy.
Service- waitress seemed overwhelmed with tables- one being a large party.
Good food, nice wine selection, prompt and helpful service at reasonable rates.
Service was excellent, food not so good. They ran out of noodles for a dish that required a certain type of pasta. My husband's spinach noodles were nothing like we'd ever had and shrimp was missing from this seafood dish. Overpriced.
We sat outside on the patio and had an excellent dinner with friends. The waiter was attentive but did not rush us. Delicious food!
We found it to have very good food and great service. The ambience was good. It was a weeknight and there were only a few people there. I would really recommend the Pizza and the calamari. Very tasty!
The food was excellent as always: perfectly cooked and unique combinations. The swordfish special was especially amazing, and the mango sorbet and olive oil cake stood out as desserts. Easily one of the best quality restaurants in the capital region!
Was a little disappointed in a pasta dish I ordered. I believe it was the spinach fussili carciofi. I’ve had it before and was cooked in a lighter red sauce. Wasn’t that bad. Just a personal preference.
I decided on the citrus roasted duck, and it was phenomenal! One of the best duck dishes I have ever had in the capital district! The ambiance was just okay. A lot of large families so it was not the most ideal date place for my significant other and I. But the food was delicious and the service was good!
This was a good experience overall, by outstanding? I don’t think so
I was expecting a better overall experience for the reviews this restaurant receives. We sat outdoors. It was a hot day, but they had one of the porch tarps down which prevented any type of air flow. So very uncomfortable. Food fell short on flavor. Everything sounded great on the menu. We got the pork belly appetizer. Huge portion. Sauce was too sweet and had too much. Made the fried polenta mushy and overpowered everything. I had veal cheek pasta. Sauce was minimal and lacked flavor. Huge olives in the meal. Pasta was too heavy for the sauce they paired with it. A cheese polenta, rice, risotto or potato would have been a better choice. Veal was delicious though. Hubby had a duck breast salad. Best feta I’ve ever had. But the duck breast was more like 2 thin pieces of prosciutto. Overall, overpriced and lacked a lot for price.
Excellent spot for a business lunch. Private corner and respectful service.
Had a great meal as usual; however, the “background music” was unusually loud.
I shared the Pizza Con Pollo and Pizza Salsiccie e Funghi with my dining partner. The pizzas were tasty, but we were disappointed by the slow service on a night that was not busy.
We have been patrons of Milano for ~30 years. The food is always excellent....and cooked to request. Service is local and friendly. We are regular diners..
Nice ambiance. Excellent service as always. Extensive wine list. Unique wood fired pizza. Good parking access. Nice covered outside dining with side curtains if needed. Quality Italian style entrees. Daily specials menu on the table. Well prepared servings el dente and fresh. Wise to make reservations.
Comfortable bar semi isolated from main dining area.
This is supposed to be an Italian restaurant. 3 of us had pan sautéed fish and they were all fine. But I ordered mixed shellfish over linguine, which is the worst I’ve ever had. I make a good Zappa de Pesce and a good Ciopino. This dish had sliced tomatoes no garlic no wine no spice. It was tasteless and the pasta was over cooked and soggy. Stick to the grilled meats and fish
Food was phenomenal!
When in Albany Area I’ll be having dinner at Milano’s. Found this restaurant twelve years ago. What a find!!!!
Always outstanding. At this point we’ve tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. This is on the level of the finest New York City dining. The chef chooses the highest quality ingredients, prepares them to perfection and puts them together in instagrammable presentations. Will go back again and again.
Delicious food in a place with a very cool vibe [despite being in a (high-end) strip mall]
We had the veal piccata (with sautéed peppers and mushrooms over angel hair pasta) and a grilled shrimp and pasta dish. A very nice experience.
It was okay, not spectacular. I was disappointed with the food for the price. I had a special that sounded fabulous, very disappointing. They had loud 60’s music who j did not fit with the atmosphere. The service was a little overly attentive, I felt rushed.
Great food and service. Request a table and chairs rather than a bench seat because this seating tends to be too close to your neighbor. Milanos is our standby. We never have a bad meal here.
Pre fixe menu for Mother’s Day. $49. Small portions. Not much for the price. Food was so-so at best. In fact, we had to ask if my wife’s mashed potatoes were powdered/instant bc they had that taste and consistency. Dessert was fine/good. Place has a nice ambiance and our server was attentive and very sweet.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere!! My most recent visit was during Mother's Day with a limited menu. There was a great variety and 3 courses! A little on the pricey side but well worth it!
We had a wonderful dining experience last Saturday night. The food service and atmosphere was perfect after attending a performance at the EGG in Albany. The performance ran later than predicted and traffic was slow to exit after show. I called alerted Milanos we would be half hour late and they did accommodate. They had a standard menu and offered specials! When your traveling in the Latham area stopping for lunch or dinner. Please don't miss the opportunity for wood fire pizza !!
Wonderful staff. Beautiful environment. The food was delicious.
Food and service are both very good. The only downside is that most tables are very closely spaced and it is difficult to have any private conversation.
The server was great and he was very professional but still funny. The food was excellent. It was fun seeing part of the kitchen!
Food was fairly good although my roasted duck was barely over room temperature. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pasta dinner. Wait staff was excellent. The problem with this place is that it's NOISY. The dining area seems designed for worst possible acoustics - lots of hard surfaces - and the loud, funky soul music is more suited to a bar scene. If you're over the age of 25 or just prefer a relaxing ambiance, avoid this place.
Great food great atmosphere and outstanding service. I’ve driven by there for years but this was my first time eating there. It definitely will not be my last.
Way over priced. Very limited options and marginal quality.
Definitely an excellent choice for out to lunch or dinner or special occasion.
Everything was great with the exception of the high noise level.
Great food and service. Would recommend for dinner
Excellent as alway
We have gone there several times a year since it opened
My sister in law’s birthday. We drove in from Gloversville and my husband’s brother and wife drove up from Woodstock. My sister in law is a vegetarian and most of the “upscale” restaurants are not open for lunch. Those that are had a limited choice for her. Milano’s fit the bill in many ways. It was easy to find, ambiance was pleasant, choices were several, the price was right and a piece of chocolate cake and candle was brought at the end of our meal. It made it a delightful party lunch.
We all enjoyed our soups and entrees, however I ordered the Olive Oil cake for dessert. I never had it before but my sister in law had it once at a restaurant in Scottsdale Arizona and has never stopped talking about it. Needless to say when I saw it on the menu I couldn’t wait for dessert time. Huge disappointment. Too much olive oil taste. Thus the 4 star rating.
Waitress was very good, did not rush us or even say they close at 3pm when it was already after 3pm.
The place, the meal, the service all made up a special happening.
Pleasant atmosphere with good daily specials including a fresh fish and a risotto. Good gourmet pizzas. Wish they had a little wider pasta selection with more veggie entrees and not so many with spinach fussili, though I suspect they would customize a dish if asked. This has become a regular place for us.
The rice ball appetizer though fairly good was still frozen in the center Did not seat us at the table requested but did honor my request to be seated at a table not extremely close to the next one
For fifteen years, this used to be one of the best restaurants in the Albany area. Now, not so much. Go at your own peril. Things change.
