Milano Italian Dining
main dining room was flooded due to rain so all diners crammed in a private dining area, very congested and noisy. others seemed to enjoy their food, but my pasta carbonara was so dry it was inedible. i did not send it back because that would have delayed everyone else. But "fine dining" within Crown Center is limited, and this had covered parking.
Wonderful ambiance. Food was exceptional and service was outstanding
It was more expensive than I had anticipated since they did away with their lunch buffet. But the food and service was impeccable!
Milano is a very nice place for a date. They provide excellent service, a great meal and wonderful desserts. The portions are a bit large so do not over order.
My martini was great. the food selection is limited and not that great. Service is great.
Love the Milano! Great place to “people watch!” Delicious food and great service!
My husband and I went there on a Saturday evening for dinner. WE thought the menu was very limited. My chicken entree was nothing special. I was looking forward to broccoli but it was very "limp" and I didn't eat any of it. My husband ordered a porkchop and only ate1/2 of it. We were expecting to take the other 1/2 home but our waiter told us it was accidentally thrown away so he did not charge us for my husband's meal. Our waiter also gave us a free dessert. We were very disappointed in the meal itself.
Our waiter (I think his name was Kai) was wonderful! Loved his personality and upbeat demeanor. He did all he could to make us happy. He apologized over and over and did comp one of our meals. I would definitely recommend our waiter as he was very good but we were disappointed in everything else and will not be back.
I hate leaving poor reviews but this restaurant for the price really fails. It has reservation system via Open Table which is great for people who are usually accustomed to fine dinning, however the food is greasy and unappealing. I ordered a burrata appetizer and pasta dish with pesto and shrimp. The burrata was not served in the traditional ball but split open and spread over the bread like a pizza with the Brussel sprouts covering the cheese. This led to a weird flavor combination in the mouth with the bitter taste of the Brussel sprouts masking the flavor of the cheese. The pasta was coated in pesto instead of a nice small amount to be mixed in by the patron. This meant the dish was very oily and unpalatable. Plus there were only 4 mini shrimp in the dish. I didn’t even bother with a desert, with the entree 26$ and the appetizer 12 and both disappointing, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone looking for fine Italian dinning.
Good food, service OK but rushed (maybe need more waitstaff?
Very nice atmosphere. Good food. Outstanding service by Tim Chapman. Thank you Kye!
We usually eat here during dental meetings. The food this year was poor, had no taste to it. Was disappointed the buffet was gone too. Will find somewhere different next year
Our waiter was wearing Crocs and socks. Was Friendly enough. The bread and olive oil was OK. This place was dead during a Friday night at Crown Center. Our Filet Mignon was undercooked and overpriced. Yikes.
We loved our server! He went above and beyond to make our experience feel so grand! 5 star server and superb food
Our waiter was fantastic! Have recommendations on what to order and described the food we so we knew what we were ordering. Very kind and helpful.
Restaurant was beautiful and clean. Great atmosphere.
Good place to eat before attending the theater.
Food is decent but the menu is very limited. It’s an Italian restaurant. No lasagne, no Raviolis, No egg plant Parmesan no Italian sausage.
My husband and I have gone to lunch at Milano for many years during the Heart of America Eye Care Conference. We have almost always gotten the lunch buffet, however, this year it wasn't available. We were told that there was a new chef, and they no longer offered the buffet. We were very disappointed, however, we ordered sandwiches off of the menu instead. We were not particularly happy with our choice and will probably not be back unless the lunch buffet is brought back. I had wondered why there were very few people at Milano that particular day when in the past there had been a line waiting to be seated. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the availability of the lunch buffet. You shouldn't change what works for you even if you need to raise your prices because of cost increases.
Kye was great server, food was outstanding, will be going back
We had a wonderful birthday dinner celebration. Our waiter was awesome and very attentive. We will definitely come back.
Service was questionable, the waitress was great but the supervisor was rude when she delivered the entree just after the appetizer was served. Never got a chance to eat it. Food was good but the rudeness overshadowed it.
Service was not very friendly. We had called ahead of time to ensure gluten free options were available for one of our attendees and they assured there were several. But our. Waitress said no, none of our pasta or pizza is gluten free you can probably have a salad.
We have been fairly frequent customers of C. Milano over the years esp. when we had season tickets to the Heartland Theatre. This is the first time I have to say I thought it was a mediocre experience. The menu was much more limiting and the quality of my entrée was disappointing. We also were concerned with the small number of parties for a December evening.
Family Christmas get together. Nice table for 8 near windows and tucked back in. Salmon added to several dishes was delicious. Pork chop a little rare. Should add a kids dessert to menu. Food was good but came cool to cold to table. Music was played over very “tinny-sounding” speakers. You should invest in a new system. It was a festive evening, so we had a good time!
We have eaten at this restaurant previously. It appears they may have downsized the number of entrees offered on the dinner menu. The pork chops were excellent. The serated knives offered with the meat were dull for the first inch and need replaced. At first it appeared the pork chop was tough, only to find out the knives were dull. The calamari was well prepared, other than the abundance of capers. They could have saved a bit of money and kept half of them. The bread was very good. We would dine here again if in the area.
Lunch special of soup, salad & pasta was very good. Grilled salmon salad was ok. Waiter was very attentive . We enjoyed watching ice skating & holiday singer. Lots of holiday cheer in Crown Center. Milano offer great view of the holiday activity & Crown Center tree !! Loved the school kids Christmas serenade in the mall outside Milano’s door. Beautiful!!
Heat was out so we froze. Food was just ok. Drinks were poorly made.
I hadn't been to Milano's for a while but was so glad to have gotten back there! The food was delicious, our server was just the right amount of attentive, and the bill was a truly pleasant surprise! Already planning to make reservations for a return visit in the not too distant future.
We were seated very promptly on arrival as per our reservation. The table had a wonderful view of the skating rink and Hallmark complex. Our waitress was outstanding giving us prompt and knowledgeable service. Menu offered a nice variety of items without being overwhelming. This was our second visit to Milano Italian Dining and on both occasions we enjoyed a fantastic experience. To the wait staff, particularly Dana, thank you for a memorable evening!
Very slow getting food out. Two tables that came in after us received their food before us.
We dine at Milano frequently, and it consistently delivers great food with great service and ambiance. The salmon is always memorable, but on this visit I chose the pork chop, and it was also an excellent choice--juicy and perfectly seared. We closed with the tiramisu, a decadent delight. And the service was perfect--extremely attentive, without being obtrusive. We'll be back.
Milano has the best beet salad I’ve ever had. My group of 4 all enjoyed the food. The wind was reasonably priced.
Fresh n tasty. Pizza was homemade and so good. Had the calamari that was a little different than the norm but oh so good. Service was top notch too.
The service we received as fantastic. The food was good. We dined here prior to attending a play at MTH theater.
We had the special lunch: great food, good value. Service was also great. The only drawback was that we were all cold. So take a sweater!
My husband and I had the chicken piccatta. It was the saltiest meal I've ever had. If I hadn't been with my mother I would have sent the food back. Seriously, so, so bad. My mother had a Romaine Salad with Salmon and my son had spaghetti with meatballs, they were both ok. Panna Cotta and Tiramisu desserts were both good, coffee however very bad. Service a bit slow, we planned on 40 minutes to order and have dessert and the waitress forgot about us so we had to wolf down our dessert to make our show.
While the menu selection was limited, our food was very good (1 had spaghetti & meatballs, 1 had linguini w/ mushrooms & mustard greens, to which she added salmon). Our server, Kye, was outstanding, 1st bringing us tastes of 2 wines before we made our selection, then modifying my wife’s order to eliminate items she is allergic to. Then, when we got our check, we noted that our shared desert was served gratis!
Would definitely return.
Food was fresh and tasty, and our server, Kye, was extremely solicitous, friendly, and helpful as he always is. Looking forward to many future meals at Milano's.
We were able to celebrate Mother’s Day dinner with a party of 12 this afternoon. The servers and staff were absolutely fantastic. Water & refills were never requested on our behalf, they were very accommodating. Everyone’s food was perfect. Not a single issue, they do have a more limited menu offering on a Sunday, but that in no way will ever stop us from coming back. We are really looking forward to our next dining experience with Milano’s Italian in Kansas City!
Not as advertised in a mall and overpriced
