Milagro on Yonge Ratings and Reviews
Great experience from start to finish. Excellent ambience. Very energetic spirit about the place. The food was delicious. So flavourful and fulfilling. The drinks were fun and interesting and everything was appropriately priced. We will be back again soon to try the other bits of the menu!
Went for the first time to this restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were very disappointed . The waitress was not friendly and helpful. The food was okay but nothing to rave about. I told them we were celebrating my husbands birthday and they did nothing to ackowedge it. We were there for 45 mins ate and left. Would not recommend this restaurant.
Staff was friendly but very slow and spotty service. Ceviche and guac were okay but nothing special. Adobado burrito, for something made with a 3-chile adobo, was shockingly bland and greasy is so small a word for what I had on my plate.. My wife's lamb was beautifully done but that was the only highlight.
Took too long to get someone to take our order and nevery checked in during the meal. Would have ordered another drink.
Our table was really taken aback by our experience. We regularly go to Milgaros as our meet-up venue. We had issues with the service, where we were rushed to pay the bill ("would you like dessert or the bill?", followed by him picking up the unpaid bill 5 min later and us telling him to hold on, we had not looked at it yet). The leftover guac was packed up without the leftover chips. We were in the mood to have after dinner drinks and dessert after some time had passed, but we had already paid, and no one came by after we paid (to see if everything was ok or to fill our empty water jug) anyways.
We were clearly unwanted diners the whole evening, which was unusual. We will return one more time for our monthly gathering, as we have for about 2 years now, to see if this unfortunate experience was a one-off.
Ok where do I start... I must admit my fish tacos and mojitos were tasty. HOWEVER, DO NOT go to this restaurant with a large party. Our server was SOOOO RUDE and then they demanded 18% tip, which in all honestly I wouldn't mind paying if we at least had two servers (14 people party) or enough room for everyone to sit, OR if our server was even the slightest bit nice. The two female servers were pleasant but we paid 20$ for cake cutting fee and they DIDNOT cut our cake and had an attitude when I ASKED FOR FORKS TO EAT THE CAKE. The servers were dishonest at the end and I actually ended up paying an extra 26$... for what? I'm not sure. It was my birthday and I was just feeling so stressed because they made my guest and myself move around the tables to accommodate for everyone. LIKE WE PHYSICALLY were moving the furniture.
I have had good experiences in the past but had not been for a couple of years. There are very mixed reviews but I enjoyed previous visits so gave them a chance and was not disappointed. Service was not super fast but I was not in a rush and try not to be when dining out so it suited the pace perfectly. I will definitely go back and more often.
Travelled to the Uptown Milagro for their summerlicious items, particularly the tres leches cake and the pork tamale. It did not disappoint!! I frequent the downtown locations and love their regular menu, which is the same as this one. BEST margaritas in the city, and I finally tried a Michelada, which was a refreshing savoury drink.
Pet peeve - do not give your diners tortilla chip dust- I was appalled when I recently took a friend to introduce her to Milagro to have the basket filled not once but twice with predominately tortilla dust vs. chips. Really?!! It's bad enough the salsa is served in the smallest bowl possible but to retrieve it with small bits of tortilla chips is insulting.
Love their food, service ranges from stellar or downright glacial but the chips and salsa? Not cool!
I love Milagro, have visited all 3 locations in Toronto and always enjoy my meal.
This particular visit, they were swamped and service was slow at first, but once we said something they more than made up for it and even brought us a complimentary dessert at the end of our meal. To me that's great customer service - acknowledged the mistake and corrected it immediately.
Will definitely continue to visit :)
We were there for Summerlicious and the menu was very inventive. I had the water melon soup, a fish which was really flavourful and then some Tre leche for dessert. We even did a tkae out order of flan which made for a yummy breakfast the next day!
Milagro is very authentic and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable!
Went for Summerlicious 2016. Did not seem especially authentically Mexican. The guacamole was outstanding, the chips a little greasy. Had the salmon ceviche appetizer, again, oily, and did not seem Mexican. Found the pomegranate an odd touch. The seared grouper in anchiote with pineapple, tomatillo, etc was kind of bland and did not love the texture of the fish, did not finish it. My partner enjoyed the lamb very much.
They were out of the caramel flan, I tried the mango mousse (is that Mexican) and the Pastel de Elote (corn cake) which was very good but corn cake is pretty dense for dessert.
The service and staff was extremely nice, enthusiastic and attentive.
I had the pleasure of eating and enjoying a very nice lunch this past Friday, July 15, 2016 at Milagro on Yonge. I went because of the Summerlicious event that is currently taking place. I felt that I received value for the price of $18.00. This price was all-inclusive of any one appetizer, main dish and a dessert.
The food was tasty and fresh. The flavours, to me, were very Mexican, as is the restaurant, of course.
The service was very friendly and prompt. My server always aimed to please, and he did.
This is a very pleasant neighbourhood gem, which apparently, has been in existence for ten years. I just found that out from my server at lunch. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anybody who enjoys Mexican food in a relaxed, casual and friendly atmosphere.
The most amazing thing about the meal was the appetizer trio of pico de gallo, refried beans and guacamole. I have never had anything like it. It put every other Mexican restaurant that I went to out of luck for my business. Also, the shrimp tacos were so fresh and delicious. The shrimp were extremely large and firm.
I would say this was top 5 in my life of incompetence.
Considering I'm 40 and have travelled the world that's a terrible position to be.
I'm new to the neighbor hood. I thought this was going to be a great experience.
The most incompetent servers I have been around in a long time.
They were more concerned about hanging out at the bar then serving customers.
Out of 25 tables I think I was asked if this was my meal about 25 times. Considering how small the place that's an incredible amount of mistakes. Management seemed like they had no grasp on how to run a restaurant. How long have you been in buisness? not much longer.
The food, service and staff were top notch. The worst thing was that we were there on a Saturday night prime time and there were screaming children at 2 different tables. It was very off putting that these parents would not control their children. Of course this is not the restaurants fault but the acoustics in the room are weak to begin with. We ended up shouting at our group the whole night. The kid tables should be placed upstairs together on a Saturday night and not with the patrons who come for a date night with friends. This could be a deal breaker for a return visit. Please consider the other patrons. Thanks
