Best ceviche ever, and my husband raves about the burritos. We keep going back.
My girlfriend and I were very eager to try Milagro based on a friend's recommendation. The best we could come up with when thinking of the food was "it was good, but we weren't going to recommend it as a must try to friends anytime soon". We started with an appetizer of guacamole with nacho chips which was fantastic and they gave us plenty of chips. We then shared 2 fish tacos (La Perla
battered snapper, tropical slaw, chile crema, in flour tortillas) and 2 Capital tacos
(pan seared ribeye, cilantro, salsa verde fresca) and found them to be a little bland and lacking in flavour. Considering we were paying over $6 per taco ($12 or $12.50 for 2), we expected a lot better. They were good but nothing spectacular or out of this world.
We had 2 glasses of wine with our meal and our server was very generous with her pour which we were happy about. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was excellent we just found the food to be underwhelming (factoring in the price). Grand Electric and La Carnita offer up better tacos in comparison and better bang for your buck.
Great food! Great margaritas!! Great service! Chips and guac are amazing and tacos (Rosarito and Captiale another Pork one were delicious!)
I've now been to 2 locations and they don't dissappoint. This queen location has a nice warm and romantic feel, but was great with friends a well! I'll be going back very soon :)
Service was very good, no complaints, except I wasn't thrilled with the shrimp tack recommendation, but then again my options were limited due to dietary restrictions.
After hearing a lot about Milagro I was dying to check it out. It didn't meet my expectations. I was hoping for mind blowing flavours but it was just ok. The service and ambience was great - however it was cold inside the restaurant which may have contributed to my not so amazing experience.
I've used Open Table quite a few times now and you've always come through for me. I've asked for special tables, front window tables and even made last minute modifications. Everytime has been a success, thank you for making it so easy !
Came here for my first date with my boyfriend and decided to come here on Valentines day. Had great service, and of course, delicious food as always!
Had a very good experience at Milagro. The food most importantly was delicious and tasty. Food delivery was in good time. My entrée I think was big enough to share with another person if I wanted to. Thinking about the possibility of eating here in the summer outside, would be great. This place seems fit for couples, friends or groups.
The food was delish! My wife & I had the small guacamole which is more then enough for 2 people. It was vibrant, creamy, and chunky! After we got our mains which were mole poblano & enchiladas suizas. Both were cooked to perfection! Our waitress was amazing! Great service, very friendly, & even offered to let us have a sample of the mole sauce before ordering. She was excellent, only complaint was it took a long time to get the bill, we had to ask the buss girl. But our waitress was noticeably busy.
We love this place and will def. come back!
I came here for Winterlicious and had a great time. The food was excellent - generous portions and great selection. Staff was very friendly and courses were served at a steady pace. Great vibe for a date.
I really liked it. I went there during winterlicious and the menu was great! I loved everything I ordered and the server was really kind and friendly, I'd go back just to be served by him again :)
I had heard great things about Milagro so I was excited to try it and bring 3 other friends. The waitress was super nice, however it took forever for us to receive our meals. The waitress stated something went wrong with one of the meals however I am pretty sure they just forgot to make. them She brought 2 of the 4 meals out and then the last 2 about 10 mins later. When my pulled pork tacos finally came they were disappointing...flavourless and definitely did not look appealing. For dessert we thought they must be pre-made so should be fast and we can get out of here but nope...took another 30 mins for desserts.
Went to Milagro on first day of Winterlicious. Expecting to order from the menu and they ran out of rib eye steak! On the first day of Winterlicious at 7pm dinner?! How do you promote something you don't have?
The restaurant was cold. The front glass window was broken so cold air was seeping in. The heater beside us was turned off and they gave us the reason that it short circuit and affects the computers. I had to wear my jacket the entire dinner. My toes and hands were frozen. Obviously they don't care about customer's comfort. The coldness was unbearable that we couldn't stay for our dessert. We just want to get out of there as soon as possible. Although we didn't have the Ribeye steak we originally wanted, the food was decent. The service was slow. The waiter tried to apologize and compensate us by giving us complimentary tequila shots.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this restaurant. There's better Mexican restaurants in Toronto.
A friend and I went for brunch on a Saturday just after noon. We were the only customers when we arrived but there were a couple of other tables occupied by the time we left. It was nice to have a convenient location without having to wait to get seated. I ordered the huevos rancheros which, though not the best in the city, was quite a tasty dish. My only complaint of the visit would be how chilly it was inside.
Pleasantly surprised by this very cute Mexican restaurant. The Tropical ceviche is one of the best I have ever had and the cucumber margarita is exquisite. Overall, it is one of the best mexican restaurants I have ever been to! Highly recommended.
Love, love, love. The after dinner tequila is a must.
Food was good but service was delayed, my food was lukewarm and music was terrible. Margaritas were fantastic!
Well, it all started with the declaration by our waiter that it was Margarita night, and they were delicious. All of the staff were fun and friendly and the restaurant had a great vibe with obvious regulars, but visitors (like us) were made to feel very welcome. We took the enthusiastic staff recommendations for our tacos, and they steered us well! Chicken and Fish tacos with a refried been that was delicious. Fun, real and yum.
The classic margarita was great. The appetizer, a selection of 3 dips with taco chips, was very good. The mains were uninspired. Papas diablos were flavourless, octopus was also tasteless, cut in too-small dice, and swimming in a pool of oil. Service started out well, but we had a series of servers, most of whom seemed completely uninterested in us and in a hurry to get us out of there, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded and it wasn't even close to closing time. We shouldn't have had to ask for more taco chips, and we shouldn't have had the dessert menus taken away just because we weren't quite ready to decide on dessert and coffee. We were seated upstairs which felt distinctly second class, no energy, no fun music.
Milagro makes fresh Mexican food, giving the cuisine its rightful place as a flavourful and refreshing alternative to the franchise variety of refried beans and heavy burritos. The Ceviche is outstanding. Any main with the mole sauce is not to be missed. Service is friendly, professional, and no nonsense. It's great food, served fresh, without the pretension. This place will last on Queen West well after the overhyped, on-trend places with mediocre food rise and fall around it.
Great food choices, and very delicious. For anyone who likes real authentic Mexican food will definitely enjoy this place. The food is fresh, tasty, great spices, can be real spicy if not careful. The menu is a bit hard to understand if you are not familiar with the food choices, but the waiters are great at explaining.
would definitely recommend this place to many others.
We were a party of 10, and we waited over an hour for food- close to an hour to even order. Really unimpressive... the food more than made up for it, but I wouldn't recommend going hungry, or with a large group.
Had the mexilicious menu for $30 which was great value. Portion sizes are smaller than ordering a la carte but still plenty for your money
The seafood cerviche was excellent
We were by the front window and a number of times had to wait 5-10 minutes for attention even when beckoning them over
A personal fav on queen west. Best tacos and margaritas
Good musican food. Shrimp tacos were awesome! Slightly high priced but you live in Toronto, oh well.
You feel your in Mexico when you get in. Excelent and authentic mexican food.
Love this place! We got a sweet spot on the upper patio and stayed for a few hours. What I love about Milagro is there is no rush to turn tables - diners can enjoy their food, experience, drinks and all the good stuff while taking their time.
Milagro is a favourite for us. The food is awesome the service is always great and it's a cool, cozy spot to share a meal quietly or with friends.
We had a HORRIBLE waitress. She was rude, dismissive...and would walk away after asking us a question (not waiting for an answer). You can get tacos at seven lives in kensington and the people are great there!! I wanted to try a sit down place and was sorely disappointed. These feelings were echoed by the rest of my party.
The food was pretty good but not great compared to options on Queen St West. The drinks were disappointing.
Booked a dinner for 6 friends on a Saturday night. Arrived at 8pm, but had to wait in line for 15 minutes even though we had a reservation. Table service was extremely slow, we waited almost a half hour for the waitress to take our orders, and another hour for the food to arrive. When the food did arrive, it was all overly spicy to make up for the lack in flavour. The bad service and food killed the vibe of our night and everyone left annoyed and disgruntled. Should have listened to the other bad reviews before deciding to come here. Will not return.
This is the most authentic
Mexican food I have ever eaten in the city! Great service, wonderful and accurate recommendations, yummy margaritas, filling dinner! I never made it upstairs, but my husband said it was really cool. Will definitely frequent here again.
Myself and my Fiance had a meal at Milagro last Saturday ( May 31st) to celebrate our anniversary. The service was good but unfortunately the food was the biggest let down. Having been recommended to me by a friend, I had a lot higher expectations. I ordered chicken enchilada's that came out slopped onto a plate, the messiest presentation I have ever recieved at a restaurant. The rice looked re-heated and had frozen peas in it. I was really really disappointed with the meal and as the restaurant was so busy, I didn't want to add any more hectic-ness to the plate by complaining.
I made reservations online (which I love that you can do!) I was meeting some friends for dinner. I arrived first and the restaurant was very quiet. I was seated& My waitress asked if I would like a drink I said I needed a few moments to have a look. A few moments not like 20 minutes and I had to flag her down. Once I ordered my drink it took a good 15 mins to get it. It was a simple mojito in a dead restaurant. By the time my gf's got there it went a little better. But the waitress took our order only after we flagged her down...again....did not check on us once. and was rude and unattentive. when we paid she said "we don't do split bills" wtf thats impossible. i will return for the food not because of service.
I'm at Milagro (usually the Queen West location) fairly often - love the food & drinks and usually the service is great. The only exception being the last time I was there (Victoria Day weekend) where the service was unusually slow (but still friendly). I'll chalk it up to an isolated incident. Overall thumbs up! An excellent date spot and a place to hang with a group of people.
We really enjoyed our main entrees, but were disappointed by the prices of the appetizers (guacamole) and the drinks as well. Doesn't make sense as a whole menu, in my opinion. Really did enjoy the octopus/tuna tacos and the churros. We really enjoyed our waitress and the service was pretty quick. The staff was also quite accommodating to our seating requests (didn't want to sit at the back next to the kitchen). Pretty good experience, I would go back but be wary of my order.
Very authentic, like eating in Mexico! Amazing food!
Very friendly and fast service!
Delicious food!! But you can get tacos for cheaper at seven lives... Bill was 140$ after tip for a party of 2.
We were promptly greeted by our waiter who was super nice and pretty funny. We took forever to order and no seemed annoyed. They let us take our time. We had the white wine sangria... REALLY GOOD. And the tacos were really tasty- filling too. I had a really great time. We went for lunch and they closed for a bit before dinner but did not rush us out at all. We kind of noticed at some point, after all that sangria, that we were the only people left and the door was locked as someone tried to come in. Really cool that they didn't bug us and let us chat forever. I liked that.
Nice tranquil mexican experience. Good was great. Service was good.
