Milagro on Queen West Ratings and Reviews
I love Milagro. I haven't been to either of the other locations, but I love the atmosphere and service at the Queen West spot. The food is delicious, and very fresh. Great flavours, very generous portions, and incredible guacamole. This place never disappoints -- we go every few weeks, if we can!
Went with a couple of girlfriends on a Thursday night, and it was a lovely evening out. The food was good (I had the mushroom and cheese taco which was delish and my friend really enjoyed her fish tacos - I believe they use cod, not basa) and the churros were amazing. The sangrias were standard, not bad, but nothing outstanding. If the weather permits, it's a good spot to people watch on bustling Queen West. Not exactly a cheap dinner (the bill for 3 of us came up to about $120 I think - drinks, trio appetizer, tacos, and shared an order of churros), but would recommend. And the server was very attentive and helpful, which always helps :)
Honestly the food wasn't great. Would not recommend if you like authentic Mexican food. The guacamole, well let's just say I've had better from a grocery store. My friend and I went here because it was near where we were and wanted some good Mexican food. I regret spending $50 on two tacos, a burrito and churros. Usually I like to tip, I Barely left one. The service was so slow, it wasn't even full. If the service was good I could overlook the bad food. The whole atmosphere just was bad, will never go again and will not recommend.
I wanted to like this place but the food was pretty terrible. I had chicken tacos and the chicken was dry and grey, and the taco itself was extremely bland. I understand Mexican cheese is a bit flavourless but there was absolutely no seasoning or spice, and the lettuce was doused in olive oil which I found odd for a taco (but at least it was great olive oil!). Margaritas are okay but very weak for the price. My friends shrimp taco smelled and tasted really fishy, and the service wasn't very attentive. I will not be going back here.
This was our second visit, on this occasion for my Mom's 79th birthday. service was friendly, ambiance was good, table was comfortable. only drawbacks were: they ran out of the crème brulee, a second choice was offered, but not similar, and a "sorry" was what was offered. food was delicious, but a tad overpriced as per the portions. I was in for Winterlicious previously, was surprised the restaurant wasn't participating in summerlicious. would return, but would like to see some variety in the menu and better sized portions for the price.
Had the heuvos rancheros weekend brunch special that covers everything: juice, full meal, fruit, coffee, and churros. It was excellent. Added Mexican chocolate to drink at the end with the churros. Service was very good and friendly. Have also had other meals here and they are also very good. Would recommend for casual dining.
Firstly, they no longer have a patio (which was one of the main reasons we chose the place). More importantly, there is so much good Mexican food in Toronto that there's no reason to go here. Food is overpriced and mediocre. I had the Carnitas 'Los Panchos', which was an extremely dry piece of pork with some very basic sides. The waiter was trying to upsell my table on everything throughout the night.
I have heard so much about the restaurant- but there are so many great Mexican restaurants now in Toronto its hard to compete. The food was okay - the rib tacos a bit dry and the fish tacos were huge - plus they brought our food out all at once so everything was getting cold - so we tried to eat it fast! Left feeling too full, with a huge bill.
Good atmosphere and the place was busy throughout the evening. Service a little slow, especially at the start, it took a long time to get a drink.
Shared a number of dishes and all the food was great. Pork and chicken tostadas, beef taco, a fish special. Really good hot sauce to go with the guacamole
I've been meaning to try out Milagro for some time now and decided to finally take the plunge this past Saturday, March 11th. We started with the Guacamole and Ceviche, and later shared two tacos: one with ribeye and another with fish. The Guac was very mediocre and the Ceviche was ok, but didn't have enough fish in it. The tacos weren't much better as the fried fish was decent, but the ribeye didn't have much flavor. The servers were all really nice, but not very organized - our beers came out a good 10 minutes after our appetizers despite them being ordered at the same time. I wouldn't dissuade someone from visiting this restaurant, because they have a lot to offer in terms of atmosphere, the food just isn't that good.
