We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly searing sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) then caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi.

Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.

Our entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruise ship terminal at Canada Place.

**We only will hold reservations up to an additional 15 minutes after your reservation time, after which your table will be released.

Very attentive staff. Food was good, a touch pricey but considering the location and all it was still a good value.
Good location if you’re not looking for sashimi exclusively. The specialty sushi is delicious.
It’s a good location for special occasions and business meals.

The aburi sushi did not have any temperature like it used to. Since I've been to Miku often, I know it should be seared. We weren't expecting them to be steaming-hot, but at least warm right? At least they made an effort to re-make them for us. And I did express my gratitude through generous tipping.

The value of the seasonal Sakura dinner was very low, since the portion was just too small for an aberage size normal human being.

Please correct for next theme dinner.

Having specially requested a window table well ahead of time we were disappointed that our request was not accommodated and all we had was a view of the pillar.

The Sakura tasting menu, however was wonderful.

I've only been to Miku 2 times. The first time was great - waiter was exceptional. So was the food. Last visit, waitress delivered poor service. An incident happened at our table but she didn't do anything to make it better. For such an expensive restaurant, you would expect more from your waiter/waitress. She also tried to charge us for a plating fee for eating a cake that was ordered from the restaurant itself!

The tofu salad was terrible.
The lettuce was not fresh. Looked wilted and not appealing.

Veronika, our server, started our meal off perfectly with brief descriptions of some of the newer items on the menu and specials. She directed us towards some lighter options as we had had an enormous German style breakfast merely 2 hours earlier. The premium sashimi lunch special was the best I've ever had. Salmon oshii aburi is an absolute must at MIku. It's my third time here and it's never disappointed!

We celebrated my S.O.'s birthday at miku's and the staff made it a real special event. We were reserved a place at the window and I told the staff beforehand that it is going to be a special night for us. They tried everything to make it the most amazing evening we had so far. We got excellent recommendations on food and wine and we even got the dessert with birthday wishes on them. So nice of them! The food was delicious and the wine our server recommended fitted perfectly to the appetizers and the sushi! All in all an awesome experience and I would recommend it to any of my friends! Thank you so much for a special night!

Service was terrible. We were not allowed a drink at the bar while we waited for a table. There were empty seats but we were told it was full.
Once seated we waited 15 minutes for a drink.
Everyone was quick to clear our plates but not to deliver our dishes. And the food was underwhelming.

The best service my friends and I have ever had. The server was so attentive and accommodating to everything we needed and asked for! I have a sever but allergy and the restaurant went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. The GM even came over to express that they would do everything in their power to make sure All my dishes were made in a bit free environment. Bravo! The restaurant had a super cool vibe and definitely trendy. Next time my friends and I visit Canada that will absolutely be a place we stop at again!

Over all the service was amazing! However the food is unfortunately over priced for what it is. Especially in Vancouver where there is so much good sushi that is much cheaper to choose from.

The sashimi and aburi were amazing - I highly recommend the Salmon Aburi as well as the blue fin tuna and scallop for the sashimi. My friend and I also tried the dessert platter which samples all four desserts. As expected, the green tea opera cake is the best, and the other are just okay. Overall, Miku is a pretty nice place for a date or a special meal, but I wouldn't choose it for my birthday or anniversary because the ambience can be a bit loud sometimes for a more private or intimate occasion! Very positive experience overall.

I was there for the first time last Saturday - loved the restaurant. I got the premium meal (different types of sushi) and fell in love with the seared salmon sushi (not sure what the actual name is). I will definitely return.

We were very excited to come to Miku after having read the menu. However, we were disappointed. Waited 20 mins for a table w a reservation. The front of house staff seemed overwhelmed and miscommunicated w one another. Not a great first impression. Stay away from the cooked options. I paid $28 for a pile of flavourless soba with arugula and some chopped Roma tomatoes. The pressed aburi (oshi) were not great; greasy and covered in flavoured mayonnaise. Would try again just for the nigiri, which were excellent.
