About Miku Restaurant
We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly searing sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) then caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi.

Miku Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Amazing food, ambiance and of course the service is top notch!! I took one of my colleague from out of town there that day and my boss, of course great service by thomas and Jon. Though it was a little crowded and noisy that day, however, the food and service made a huge difference. Still remains my most favorite restaurant and one that never disappoint me.
Took my wife here for her birthday, our reservation was for 6:30pm. Got there on time, didn't have to wait past our reservation time like other restaurants. The atmosphere was great, food and service was excellent.
Definitely recommend this place to people who haven't been here yet!
Thank you for the great experience!!!
Food was great pricey but tasty. The ambience is excellent. Clean restrooms. We had to get their attention to be served but once served the service was good. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and we have a feel that every body works together for a good overall customer experience.
We visited Miku for a double birthday celebration and were seated in the quiet room in the back which was perfect for our elderly grandfather, both for space and sound level. It had a beautiful view of the lit up sails from Canada Place. From the moment we were greeted at the door and throughout the evening, we had exemplary, attentive service. I cannot say enough about how our server went out of his way to meet our needs and provide personalized service to each of us.
We were very happy with all the dishes we ordered from the starters to our meals to the dessert platter we shared. We appreciated the attention to detail in the platings and the food all was well seasoned and fresh.
One of the birthday's was my son's - he has just turned 18 and Miku is already his favourite Vancouver restaurant and we have now celebrated two special occasions there. Looking forward to many returns to Miku!
I had the Aburi kaseki menu. Clearly this place is for people who do not know japanese food.
I wasn’t a massive fan of the industrial like process that sushi was produced. Sushi orders came with 6 pieces each! This is not a place for great sushi. Omakase is unheard of.
It was ok, but not what I had looked for in “the best sushi BC can offer”.
Random comment - some ingredients were mislabelledz. One dish was promoted as having hedgehog mushrooms. I forage hedgehogs, they were not what was claimed.
This staff and atmosphere is very high end, unfortunately the food is not. We did the "special" chef's course which was not very good and considering the price ($88 Canadian per person for food alone) was not worth it. Nor was the food good. Sushi is so plentiful and good in Vancouver Miku needs to step up its game if it wants to live up to the hype. Until Miku improved the food quality I would recommend anywhere else in Vancouver for sushi.
The food is fantastic, but it is really loud in the restaurant, which is hard when you don't hear well. The Miku Zen lunch came all at once. (It was delicious, as always.) In the past, it came one course at a time. Next time I will request the pacing to be slower. I love the restaurant and view, but wish it was quieter.
Tried to have a nice evening out with my friend but ended up having to near yell across the table all night because of the noise volume of a large table of 8 that was adjacent to our cozy booth. This isn’t the first time this has happened - but the volume of that table last night was pretty outrageous. WHY would you place a huge table smack in the middle of your dining room so that they can disrupt every single other table in the room ? Move that table out to the bar side of the restaurant. Gregarious tables of large groups aren’t very appreciative of the beautiful views. We paid almost $500 for our dinner and drinks and while I love the food - I’ll think twice to do it again as a couple because of the raucous I️ continue to experience on different visits by that large table in the dining room. The restaurant really should have addressed that last night though - it was disruptive to everyone in the dining room.
We visited from Arizona for my 40th birthday. We made reservations to sit by the window and that was the perfect spot in the back., quiet enough to share great conversation. The front of the restaurant was much louder and busy! I’d suggest the back area for special occasion or dates and the front for friend get togethers. The edamame was the good. We ordered a couple of coconut coolers that were great and an espresso martini that was perfect! The calamari was the best I’d ever had just melted in your mouth. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the scallops were great too. The price was a little high for the portion size but quality made up for it. The only complaint was our waitress, she was very friendly and knowledgeable but took her a bit to get drinks and napkins and the check. The ice cream size was a large spoonful FYI! Otherwise great place and I’d suggest it to others.
Even though it was incredibly busy (Saturday night) the wait-staff was incredibly on the ball...the amazing food was promptly presented, as were the drinks, and staff was really good about just letting us be unless it seemed like we might need something. The view of the waterfront was very romantic, and it was fun to watch the boats go by while we enjoyed our fantastic drinks, and food. Everything we had was amazing...the management was fantastic about accommodating our needs regarding food allergies. Seating was very comfortable as well!
Outstanding place with amazing food. From presentation to taste, everything was perfect. Our waitress, I believe her name is Morgana, did an excellent job welcoming us and making us feel comfortable. I love the setting of the Cocktailbar and the presentation of the drinks.
It was a bit noisy but not too bad. I would come again and again and again....
Really fantastic service. I'd been here a couple times before and wasn't that impressed, but this experience has converted me back to being a fan. Any place that makes Kale (gomae) appetizing is magic. They were really patient with our group, people were late/left/came back. Their sake flight was technically unavailable due to supply, but they were willing to put something custom together for us. Mackerel aburi pressed sushi was fresh and buttery with just the right amount of sauce. Really nice space, beautiful colours at sunset. Also VERY busy, so many reservations.
