We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly searing sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) then caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi.

Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.

Our entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruise ship terminal at Canada Place.

This is an outstanding restaurant - one of the very best in Vancouver and that says much. To be truthful the last time I came two years ago, I was a bit disappointed with my meal. But this time it was simply outstanding. I started with a rum drink- Miyazaki #2 - which competes with any rum-based sweet cocktail for irresistable sweetness and flavor. I had the shrimp tempura with a fabulous aoli sauce and the specialty sushi - Aburi Sushi - which is served as an assortment, each with its own specialty sauce. Each fish was a new and special delectable treat. The scallop was especially delectable. If you can, sit in the outdoor part of the restaurant and get the harbor vibe. Also, eat late to feel the night sea. It is easy to love this place.

My husband and I were traveling and our hotel mentioned Miku. It by far was the best sushi we’ve ever had EVER!

Attracts tourists because of the location so was not sure about the food but found that it had good food, a good view, good service, music too loud in the main dining area though.

Miku Sushi is a great place to go for a somewhat special occasion. The prices are on the expensive side, but not too bad, especially for what you get. The food was great, the service was amazing, and it wasn't too noisy.

I made the reservation through “open table” at 9:45pm and arrived on the spot. We were being seated at 10:05pm. Our table was at the far end and in the corner. In which there were a couple of vacant tables available around us and definitely has a better view of the waterfront. I already spoken to the restaurant manager, who has happened to be around at the time near the kitchen and I spotted him chatting with his associates. He explained to me that all the other tables are being booked and if there are other no-shows tables available, he will move us :). However, it is currently 10:33pm and there are three available tables by the window. Maybe I should have asked the hotel concierge to make the booking for me, so I might have a better treatment.

Miku is one of my favourite places to eat in Vancouver. Every time I am in town I have to eat here. The food is spot on and the service is excellent. It’s always a great experience.

Miku offers an outstanding selection of sushi and Japanese fair.
Location is great, views are good and the food is exceptional.
The wine selection was good and we were lucky to taste an albariño White from Spain that was just perfect accompaniment to the food.
But the noise level is ridiculous, impossible to maintain a conversation and after a while the noise level was physically irritating. Even though the place was not full, close to, but not full.
If you can ask to be seated outside, that will make your dinner just perfect. I do not think is the best place to have a business meal as is impossible to maintain a conversation.
Still the food makes Miku a place you can't miss.
Attention was good, maybe a bit more training about serving at the table.

Great service and nice location.
I went there with my husband for an early dinner and we ordered their omakase and signature selection. Our waiter was wonderful but unfortunately we were not very impressed with the food.

I liked the seafood, it was very fresh. I loved the green tea dessert at the end, it was so delicious. The service was nice too, but because there were many people, maybe the servers were a little busy. Thanks!

We chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary date.
The food was excellent and our server was awesome. Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the view of the port. We ordered off the “happy hour menu” —
The Calamari, Ebi Fritters, and the red wave rolls. It was all delicious.

The initial hostess was really confused - I had made a reservation for later and asked if we could come in earlier because we were really hungry. The restaurant wasn’t busy and she was confused on what to do. Other than that, everything was good.

Miku in Vancouver is a beautiful restaurant with a great view. The food is okay, we were expecting more after reading the reviews. Perhaps it's because we have eaten other sushi that is a lot better, that we weren't impressed with their "aburi", which didn't seem to be anything extraordinary. We expected mouth explosions, but that did not happen at all. Service was pleasant. Open kitchen and crowd created a nice energy without being too loud.

We ordered their Miku Zen, tart and salmon oshi. Everything was delicious, and they were able to tailor to our food restrictions and made everything shell fish free. The price does seem to be on a higher side, but the service and quality of food you get justify the extra bill. I’d skipped the miku zen next time and go for aburi nigiri though.
