Japanese
As the first East Coast location of Vancouver based Aburi Restaurants, Miku Toronto is proud to bring Aburi cuisine to Toronto's waterfront.

We specialize in innovative Aburi Sushi and seafood. Combining traditional Japanese techniques and flavours with fresh, local ingredients, our highly skilled chefs pair each morsel of sushi with a unique house made sauce in order to bring out the rich flavour profile of the fish, and then seal the flavours with a binchotan (oak charcoal)- accompanied flame sear. The result is the secret to Miku's success: sushi with a smoky aroma, umami flavour, and decadent, melt-in-your-mouth texture.

We also offer a variety of seafood entrées, appetizers, as well as seafood platters.

Our menu is best paired with our extensive sake, wine, and cocktail selection.

First time at this restaurant, heard lots of good comments about this restaurant. We spent almost $400 for 4 people with just one drink. Food is good but nothing special. Our lady server spent minimal time with us. So when we tipped her 15%, she didn’t even break a smile. Won’t be back and whatever I heard, those comments were overrated. There is nothing special about this place.

Absolutely delicious food!

I loved that all the servers were very knowledgeable about the courses but were also very excited about what they served.

It also......just might have killed other sushi restaurants for me.....

Will be coming back for sure!

I've been a big fun of Toronto Miku for long time since the restaurant opening. I always enjoy Mike's high quality food and professional service.

However, somewhat I've been feeling Mike's food quality has been depreciation since 2018's summer.

And my Valentine's day course Kaiseki was critical for me. Indeed, I didn't like any of my portion except the desert. (Miku's desert is always awesome) I was really disappointed.

The sashimi and sushi were not fresh enough. The presentation was lack something. Other fusion portions were simplify not tasty... (BTW I have a Japanese back ground; I do know the standard of real Toronto/Japanese food) . Even Mike's signature sushi dish was unusual.

The service was fine... My server was nice and polite enough. However I didn't feel like I was having $480 dinner at all. The service quality I got was not really different between some Ramen restaurant in Toronto.

I miss my old Miku Toronto.

We ordered Kaiseki Miku, a five-course of "chef's favourites" along with sake pairings, an amazingly well orchestrated symphony of sights, flavours and fragrances. Our waitress demonstrated a truly impressive knowledge of everything and anything there was to know about sake. Thus our visit to Miku proved to a very memorable journey through sensory experiences, with some solid education to boot!
My only suggestion: Please introduce a 4-course Kaiseki, or perhaps reduce some of the portions. By the time we got to our fourth course (a selection of delightful and exquisitely presented sushi), we were pretty much hitting out limit... and desert still beckoned.

I always give Miku all highest level of rating as it is one of my favourite Japanese restaurant in town. I came here at birthdays, every winterlicious and when I am crave for it. I find Miku offers best quality of food among all these restaurants during winterlicous. However, first time I find the experience was not as expected. I received the confirmation call and no one said anything but when we arrived, the host said I should book for three people instead of two as we have a baby. I wrote a note in my booking so they knew we were three so why did they say anything when calling me? I don’t mind that they remind me I should choose 3 during booking but not in a tone that I should be blamed for this. Among all my times here, I met this host for two times, not impressed. Plus, this time the sable fish, my must have every time, too salty. Other than that, I still like Miku a lot.

I was lucky enough to get a last-minute reservation, especially during Winterlicious! I got the aburi sushi selection, the sablefish and lobster tail, and the tart. The aburi sushi was delicious, a great mix of light and flavourful tastes. The two rolls did get pretty stuck to the plate though... one of my friend's rolls fell apart. The sablefish and lobster tail were cooked just right and tasted absolutely amazing. The tart was decadent although I personally would have liked a little more ginger taste to round it out. Service was excellent and sitting at the sushi bar provided a good amount of privacy for two friends to catch up.

I was told Miku was the best Japanese restaurant in the GTA by a friend of mine who is a prominent Yelp reviewer. Boy was he ever right! The dining experience was supreme, the best meal of my life. I thought the presentation was perfect, servers were very informative and accommodating. The Winterlicious menu was a culinary journey through flavours, that narrated the tastes the way a writer would guide his reader through a fine book.

Me and my husband where there for winterlicious. Service was awesome, sushi and roll were delicious, my main (the fish) was extremely small... not even 2 oz of fish...and the dessert (the chocolate with the pop corn) looked beautiful but not very flavourful. I found it too expensive for the amount of food.

Came here for Winterlicious 2019, it was my first time at the restaurant. It definitely will not be my last! The food and service are on another level and the Green Tea Opera cake is the best dessert I’ve ever had.

Went here for Winterlicious lunch with a couple of colleagues. I decided to be adventurous and try the vegetarian options; the Garden Zen appetizer set was surprisingly good, but the Garden Sushi Plate main set was very ordinary. The passion fruit soy milk panna cotta was excellent! Next time, I would probably go with the non-vegetarian options!

Wonderful Winterlicious experience. The sushi was amazing and the mains offered a great choice for all types of dietary requirements. The filet mignon was the better of the two options in terms of portion size. The sablefish and butter poached lobster, although both delicious was a very small portion (lobster tail was half of a very small lobster tail, more prawn like in size) and the fish was about a 4 oz portion of fish but was cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty. The steak portion came in three pieces, wrapped in bacon served with Parisienne potatoes and roasted broccoli, a much more generous portion. The desserts were fabulous as always, the green tea opera cake was outstanding and the Winterlicious special dessert of a Belgian chocolate tart was silky and delicious. Overall the value was excellent for the quality of food and the service/ambiance of Miku.

I come here every year for Winterlicious - this is my fourth time. I would give a higher rating as the food was delicious as usual, but I’ve noticed the portions for the lobster tail and sable fish have been shrinking year to year. It’s very noticeable when I look at my food pics from previous years. Other than that, the Aburi selection was great, sable fish very juicy, and the panna cotta, light and not too sweet!

Went there for winterlocious. Overall very pleased with the taste of the food, presentation and fast service. Only complain i would have is that a plate of 6 sashimis is quite small in comparison to the 2 other starters.
