There were 4 of us at dinner. We are loyal customers, because every meal we have had at Mikey’s was outstanding! Last night was no different. All of us got different entrees and we were very satisfied. Portions were large, food was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. It was (yet another) very enjoyable dinner for all of us.

We have been to Mikey’s several times and previously had good food and experience. This time was much different. I suspect Mikey wasn’t in the kitchen. My chicken Saltambocca was inedible. The man at the table next to us ordered it and sent it back as well. Something was very wrong with the chicken. I never send food back to the kitchen, but I did this time. So I ordered the Grouper Oscar like my husband had because he said it was good, and they brought me grilled grouper. No Oscar! So I sent that back and it came back with the Hollandaise and asparagus, but the grouper was undercooked and rubbery. With all our complaints, we never heard from a manager to apologize. And our check was full-price. We are mourning the loss of Mikey’s in our world.

We popped by for a casual Good Friday girls lunch. We sat outside, which was lovely. Our servers were attentive and polite. My crab cake sandwich and my friends fried shrimp po boy were top notch. The adult beverages were generously poured. Our only surprise was that they didn't have Grey Goose vodka on hand for our bloody Mary and lemon drop martini. Overall,we will be back! The restaurant was ok. We didn't wait long to be seated. The server came about 10 minutes or so after us being seated. We ordered our drinks and food. I ordered a bowl of gumbo and the crabcake entree. The salads came and they were pretty good. The entrees came about 30 minutes or so later. The waitress did apologize for the wait. My crabcakes were in a thin sauce. They were good and crispy on top but soggy on the bottom from the sauce. The flavor was good though. I thought the crabcake entree would come with a side but it didn't. My husband ordered a steak. It was bland. Service good and the food was just ok.

We stumbled onto this because of open table and were so impressed with it. Also, we are thrilled to find out that there is another location even closer to our home. Would highly recommend. We were told the Hoover one we attended is quieter and has more of a causal elegant vibe w the food slightly altered from the more pub style flavor of the one near Helena. Can’t wait to try the other.

Honestly it’s my fault for setting the reservation later in the evening. They were out of multiple menu items and didn’t tell us until we tried to order. Grouper meal was subpar. Filet was under seasoned. Crab cake was delicious as always. Rarely do I leave a restaurant before I’m full but without the appetizer and dessert in stock this New Year’s Eve meal was unfulfilling.
