Mike's Bistro - UES
Amazing experience time and time again!!excellent food, excellent service. Great ambiance.
as always EXCELLENT. The food, the service, always the best. Mike comes around to make sure his guests are enjoying. Definetely my favorite restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambience was delightful, but there were two serious shortcomings. First, the portions were tiny, particularly relative to the prices. The cote de boeuf for two ($138) would have been a good portion for one person. Second, the rack of lamb is lamb chops. A first-class chef should know the difference.
Everything on the pre-fixe menu is prepared the same (bed of broccolini, mashed potatoes) and the food was very salty. All of us had the same issue -- almost inedibly salty and I like salty food. Servers were very kind & attentive but they didn't describe the food or prep well even when asked. There were no starter options and only two dessert options. For $75 a person, I would have also expected to be asked if we wanted tea or coffee ( no one asked). Venue is great for a business lunch but the price & food quality were a big disappointment.
I've tried all the high class kosher restaurants in the city, and Mike's bistro is still on top of my list
Still the best around never disappoints
Not just great kosher but great food
One of the best Kosher restaurants in NYC. Service was great and the food was excellent
The best steak I've ever had in my life. Everyone working there was amazing and nice. Can't wait to go back!
Mike's bistro is probably the best kosher steak house in nyc maybe even in the whole world everything in they serve is absolutely delicious. The only problem with the food is it's loaded with oil even when not necessary for example the salads and veggies, they are soaked in oil. The Steaks as well have too much oil since they anyway contain a lot of fat I don't understand why they have to bathe in oil.
The next thing I didn't like is the ambiance, the place is not as high class as the food.
(Reserve cut is much more upscale in style, and ambiance which you might consider if you are going on a romantic date or birthday, they too have really good food).
The price is really high and on some items it's just outrageous (don't get wine since you'll get a shot glass of it and pay 22 bucks).
The music is weird in there you may not notice it but I have been there now a couple of times over 4 years and it's always the same and not in a good setting it does not synch with the place.
I do recommend this place if you wanna have the best steak of your life(I had the 3 week aged steak for 140$), not the best time though. If you're looking for great food and ambiance go to reserve cut the atmosphere is very upscale and relaxing.
Had a great meal at Mike's. The steak was perfectly done and the French Onion Soup was excellent. Service was spectaular and Mike stopped by to say hello (and compliment us on the soup order)! Expensive, but that is what it is. An excellent meal.
Food was excellent! Expensive but worth it for a special occasion.
Mike took the time to discuss options on the menu that I could order in light of my food allergies.
Very small portions good food would appreciate valet parking
Had a very nice time. Prices were higher than expected. Service was excellent.
The food was very good but because everything is a la carte it did add up to quite an expensive meal. But the service was very nice and the food was delicious. The fondue was the best!!
The food here is outstanding. This is top of the line kosher cuisine. The dishes are creative and cooked to perfection. Friendly, attentive service, elegant surroundings. Pricey, but worth every cent. This time around we had Mike's cauliflower bisque and duck with raspberry sauce and red cabbage, with yam fritters on the side. Everything was amazing and delicious. Thanks Mike. We'll be back.
Food and service were excellent. We all had a different main dish..veal chop, steak tataki, veal schnitzel, saffron chicken and tuna and all were great. The sides, appetizers and deserts were unique and delicious. A truly great meal!
The best all around
the Duck was extraordinary......
Truly outstanding. We came from England spent a week trying various decent restaurants in Manhattan. This was definitely number 1!
Our waiter, James, was one of the best waiters we have ever had!!
It was out 35th anniversary so we decided to celebrate at Mikes Bistro. As always, The restaurant delivered an exceptional experience. We had delicious food and outstanding service. Thank you for never disappointing!
Simply, the best! Nobody comes close for great food, elegant setting and professional service. Mike is the real deal, a CIA trained chef who paid his dues and the food reflects it. He makes the rounds checking on the tables and it's nice to talk to him especially as he is he's so passionate about his food.
Love this place
Great meat options the best beef in NYC.
Steak was too touch and fattier than expected. expect better at high prices. Stick with short ribs
Wishing Mikes Bistro well.
The building had a fire and they were closed so I cannot comment except for the fact from previous experience it has always been good.
Had a beautiful time best food in town and best service
excellent food, comfortable environment, conveniently located and Glatt Kosher. This made it a wonderful find for my Jewish guest, but the menu, recipes and service were suitable for the most sophisticated and unrestricted gourmet. Mostly in the Italian style, the dishes were all out of the ordinary but very well prepared and presented.
Excellent food, great choice, friendly waiters... service was second to none. They were also very accommodating with our various requests.
We look forward to visiting again next time we are in Manhattan.
Excellent food and service. From reservation to deserts it was great.
Mike’s has never disappointed us. We keep coming back year after year. Food is superb, service fast, friendly and effective. Great avenue with outstanding decor, clean and elegant. A true sophisticated gem. Love this place!
Great food! I love this place & will be back for sure
Had a wonderful dinner with business colleagues last night at Mike's Bistro. Great food and service and a lovely atmosphere. I've been here a few times and it never misses.
Great experience. Soup was very tasty but Luke warm.
Went here for the first time for my girlfriend’s birthday. I was told so much about this place that it had the best steak. We ordered the crescent steak which was so lean and definitely was the most tastiest steak I ever had.
Food was exceptional, waiters are so pleasant and Michael (the owner) gave us the perfect recommendations if you haven't been here its a place you must try.
Some of the food was very good (the meat entrees), but I had a fish entrée for which i didn't particularly care. Also, a guy at the next table was puffing on an e-cigarette all through the meal, which i found annoying.
Fabulous Kosher Food at an elegant...but not pretentious spot! Highly recommended.
Very expensive though food was well and thoughtfully prepared. Paid almost the same for a modest dinner for 3 with just one drink than a recent dinner for 8 with multiple drinks for each person at a high end chophouse! Should be upgraded to the next $$$ level.
It wasn't too noisy where we sat, in a side room, but the main room was quite noisy.
