Mikado Japanese Steak House – Orlando World Center Ratings and Reviews
The people were friendly but the teppanyaki show was dissapointing. The guy only threw around the utensils a bit at the beginning of the cooking and that was it. After that it was just cooking. I expected more of a show. The food was ok but I have had better with more flavor. Would not recommend it as a first choice to go.
I know this is not the fault of the restaurant, but the GPS took us behind the hotel and into a service area. Due to the incorrect GPS directions, I called to determine the location. The lady that answered the phone was very hasty (perhaps ride) and placed me on hold. She never return back to the phone. Eventually we located the restaurant and got our large party seated. Both the waitress and hibachi chef were beyond helpful with my daughter’s food allergies. The chef took extra care to make sure her food was not cross contaminated. The hibachi food was great; however, the sushi ordered was not. Only two people at the table ate the volcano roll that was ordered, and both of them ended up extremely sick that night. Since the hibachi food was good, I awarded three stars. If only sushi had been eaten, I would have awarded one star. It is not fun camping out in front of the toilet.
Eaten here several times over the last decade or so and it's reduced from a high class show with great food options to an average eatery rushing people in and out but at high end prices. Only plus is that the menu has been simplified but lost choices in doing so. We would not return.
Our group had dinner after meetings all day and this was the perfect experience for a casual, fun, get together. Seated immediately, service was attentive and friendly, and food was outstanding. Two things stood out from other Teppanyaki competitors: it was not overwhelming loud like so many other places are with this design, and having salmon on the menu was a great addition and it was a delicious pairing with filet.
This is the best Japanese Streak house we have ever gone too. We are from out of town and we make a special trip not to miss the best show and food you will ever try. My kids don't want to go to any other restaurant, just to Mikado Japanese Steak House. If they could they would eat there 7 days a week. Awsome food, great people and great preparation of your food.
Don't miss out.....You will not be disappointed.
Delicious food and attentive service was negated by the view and sounds of unruly children whose parents/grandparent had no interest in asking them to "tone it down". Screaming, jumping out of their seats- glad that the party of 20 had a good time. We did not and won't be returning.
My family and I were staying at the Marriott and decided to do dinner here one of the evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, including how our chef Thai ever so brilliantly and effortlessly cooked for us; not to mention we enjoyed his personality and conversation. When we return to Orlando, we will absolutely return to this establishment and ask for Thai.
I heard a lot about this restaurant and missed an opportunity of coming to it during my visit before this past one. Once finally having a chance to enjoy a meal here with my wife. I became more disappointed the longer I stayed.
This isn't my first experience with a Japanese Hibachi restaurant, however, we had a 9pm appointment and got seated around 9:15/9:20, didn't get to eat until 10pm.
Most importantly, the major disappointment is the quality of our meals. The shrimp we received was full of oil, the quality of everything else was OK but not seasoned well. With prices the way they were, I expected better food quality.
We don't ask for much or anal. We do have expectations of good service when it comes to the star quality restaurant that is proclaimed. We'really not completely wrote off, but I'll say that if we were to experience that type of service again, then we wouldn't be back or recommend.
The service was excellent. We had a great time at this restaurant, where the meal and entertainment are rolled into one. They also had a great drinks menu, with an extensive variety of sake and a fun list of cocktails. I'd recommend it to anyone vacationing or conventioning in Orlando.
Reservations were customer friendly via social media! We were well taken care of upon arrival as we were early and drinks were ordered from the bar! The chef was entertaining and made for a pleasant evening! The food was good as well! I would eat there again!
When i made reservations I stated we had a 13 year old birthday girl, ehen I got there I also mention it for the person that seated us however we went through our enter meal and no one acknowledge her birthday. It was disappointing because it's what she wanted to go for her birthday celebration.
We had a group of six and made reservations at Mikado for our last night at the resort. We tried to get in the night before but there was quite a long wait. After we sat down, it did seem to take a little while for things to get going and we were starving at that point. But once our server and the gentleman preparing the food started in, it was a positive experience. The food was phenomenal!!! We ordered a variety of things and every last thing was amazing. The pool laser light show started while we were there and we were able to watch it from our table.
If I am ever back at that resort I will definitely eat at Mikado.
