The service was outstanding and the food was terrific. Highly recommended.
Service is very slow. My date and I had an 8:30 reservation. We were about to give up and walk out when the soup finally arrived at 9:25.
Prices are on the high side and the dining experience is unremarkable. This venue is primarily frequented by a captive audience of travelers staying at Marriott's Orlando World Center. A Japanese steak house sounds like a great dinner for families or business travelers at the conference center but Marriott leverages the opportunity to gouge guests at every turn.
Mikado's is now passing off tilapia as sushi. Tilapia just isn’t recommended for sushi. It is used because it’s cheap. It looks vaguely pretty on the plate, impersonating other white fish, but it doesn’t taste good - it’s plain and boring.
Overall a very disappointing and time consuming meal.
We always enjoy this fun and delicious dining experience. It can be even more fun if the other party at your grill is outgoing.
As always, I think the best Japanese Steak House. The hotel is very nice also!
Wonderful food, excellent service and very entertaining. Will be back!!
We took our 10 year old granddaughter and had a very nice dinner.
Food was good and the chef was entertaining!
We went as a party of 9 with 3 small children. Our service and the food was excellent. They paid special attention to our little ones.
The ambiance was wonderful and clean. The only downfall was the food. It was not that great, a bit overdone. Maybe it was a off night but it was my first time so I am not sure.
A little disappointed in the miso soup, the salad and dressing. The green tea ice cream was a big disappointment. The main course was very good for all of my guests and our chef was wonderful. Our waiter was not very attentive and seemed frustrated with my guest when she asked to taste the wine before we purchased a bottle.
Food and service is consistently good. Good for large parties.
Possibly the best restaurant in the World Center Orlando Marriott hotel!
Food was ok but wasn’t the best or even the second best hibachi grill I’ve eaten at. Cook was good, but not very interactive with the group. I’m used to hibachi grill cooks being entertaining and fun. Restaurant is overpriced like everything else at this hotel.
Bone is our salmon sashimi. Felt hurried by the waiter who forgot a lot of our order
My lobster was delicious but the chicken was overcooked and dry and so was my husbands filet mignon. Not much interaction with cook at the table. Wait staff was good and the drinks were great. Very overpriced for the quality of the meal. I have eaten at many Japanese restaurants before and this one was not in the top five.
Chef was fun and entertaining, prepared very good meal would surely go back.
We went to Mikado on Christmas Eve and the service was horrible. It took almost 1 hour and a half for the cook to arrive at our table. The waitress mixed the orders of the different customers and finally the champagne we ordered was flat. Do not go there. There are much better places in Orlando.
reservation at 730. was seated about 8 815. at 850 drinks orders and app arrived. finally entrees orders was placed. server was ok. multiple tasking wasn’t her best suit. but however. she was trying. the cook attitude and demeanor was not inviting nor entertaining.
We have eaten at many Japanese steakhouses over the years. Mikado is the best experience we've ever had. The food was superb - better than any other we've had. Everything was cooked exactly to order. flavorful yet subtle, and the sushi we had as an appetizer was excellent as well. There was literally nothing to complain about or anything that I could imagine that would improve the experience. It is pricey, but you have to go in to the experience understanding that up front.
Toshio was our chef and he was awesome! Loved the whole experience!
Friendly staff, fun atmosphere and delicious, plentiful food.
The people were friendly but the teppanyaki show was dissapointing. The guy only threw around the utensils a bit at the beginning of the cooking and that was it. After that it was just cooking. I expected more of a show. The food was ok but I have had better with more flavor. Would not recommend it as a first choice to go.
I know this is not the fault of the restaurant, but the GPS took us behind the hotel and into a service area. Due to the incorrect GPS directions, I called to determine the location. The lady that answered the phone was very hasty (perhaps ride) and placed me on hold. She never return back to the phone. Eventually we located the restaurant and got our large party seated. Both the waitress and hibachi chef were beyond helpful with my daughter’s food allergies. The chef took extra care to make sure her food was not cross contaminated. The hibachi food was great; however, the sushi ordered was not. Only two people at the table ate the volcano roll that was ordered, and both of them ended up extremely sick that night. Since the hibachi food was good, I awarded three stars. If only sushi had been eaten, I would have awarded one star. It is not fun camping out in front of the toilet.
Could have had better cooking entertainment! Very good though!
This is our second time at the Mikado and it definitely will not be our last. A great fun atmosphere made even better by friendly and entertaining staff and fantastic food. A must for all fun loving foodies visiting Orlando!
Bartender was so rude. Food was ok had ny strip was to tough to chew. Only took a few bites. Rice was good. Chef was just ok. Usually they are fun and entertaining. The messed up the bill then took 20 minutes to fix it. Ughhh
Food was ok at best.
Waited at our table for 45 minutes before dinner started.
Stayed at the Marriott for a conference so since I love hibachi decided to give this place a try. Reservations recommended for sure. Loved the food.
Great food, especially for the price. Less expensive then Benihana, by a few bucks, but the food portions were more generous. Great entertainment and great service.
Very good food and service!
Food was great. Chef was very entertaining. Service was very good.
The food was ok. The Tuna Tataki was very good but everything else was average. The restaurant was very loud but this type of dining setting tends to be loud.
It was very cold in the restaurant. Bring a sweater or jacket
The food was delicious. I liked the soup.the chef was entertaining. Good place to go.
one of the best sushi I had, stake cooked to perfection ( medium rare) very skilled chefs and staff . My wife's B-day was very nice, glad we spent the weekend at World Center Marriott and chose Mikado
Was a nice atmosphere and ladies at the check in were very nice. Food was good and so was the chef. Our waiter was a little abrupt and not so much rude as just in a rush and didn't really listen to you. I would go back again.
Eaten here several times over the last decade or so and it's reduced from a high class show with great food options to an average eatery rushing people in and out but at high end prices. Only plus is that the menu has been simplified but lost choices in doing so. We would not return.
We're stuck at conference and they've got us! WAY overpriced fair buffet sushi and a few other options. I was hoping for some good sushi. I will say that the desserts were quite good.
We had a great experience. Really enjoyed our chef as he was funny and entertaining. Definitely will go back when we return this area.
Our group had dinner after meetings all day and this was the perfect experience for a casual, fun, get together. Seated immediately, service was attentive and friendly, and food was outstanding. Two things stood out from other Teppanyaki competitors: it was not overwhelming loud like so many other places are with this design, and having salmon on the menu was a great addition and it was a delicious pairing with filet.
Buena atención, comida rica, el show del cocinero siempre es divertido. lo malo es llegar, muy difícil de acceder está dentro del hotel Marriott Y si uno no se hospeda en el lugar se hace muy complicado ir con auto.
