About Mignonette Downtown
Mignonette is a Miami oyster bar brought to you by Chef Daniel Serfer and Ryan Roman. We have a great selection of oysters, seafood and veggies.
Daniel Serfer, a Miami native, opened his first restaurant, Blue Collar, in January 2012. Frequented by locals and visitors alike, Blue Collar offers American comfort food in a casual setting attached to a hooker motel.
Drawing on the success of Blue Collar, Mignonette provides an approachable, fun environment where patrons can enjoy a dozen oysters, a bottle of champagne, classic seafood preparations like Oysters Rockefeller and Clams Casino, and a Fancy shellfish tower. Once again driven to create the kind of restaurant he enjoys, Serfer is excited to bring a unique oyster bar experience to the guests who have made Blue Collar so popular. This new spot isn’t attached to a hooker motel, but since oysters are an aphrodisiac, you may end up back at the motel when all is said and done.

Mignonette Downtown Ratings and Reviews
Great oyster selection and well shucked. Im a fan of this restaurant. Love the twin lobster SA tails, one of the best i’ve ever tried. We ordered almost every side on the menu since my wife dont eat anything that comes from the sea, the only ones we liked were the mushrooms, asparagus and cauliflower, the rest of them we do not recommend to try. The dessert was also great. One of my top 5 places to dine in Miami 😃. Also great service by the way !
Was looking for a close restaurant with good vegetarian options and came across this place. Absolutely amazing! Only one vegetarian-ish option in the main course menu but the veggie selection was definitely enough and definitely delightful. The waitress suggested dish alterations to make them vegetarian and I was not disappointed at all.
We enjoyed our pre-theatre dinner at Mignonette. The restaurant is in a converted gas station and the decor is delightfully unpretentious but comfortable. Our meals were excellent. I ordered the vegetable plate, choosing roasted cauliflower, braised artichokes, asparagus, and greens with viniagrette. I judge restaurants by the quality of their side dishes as much as the entrees, and was very pleased with the quality and individual preparation. Looking forward to visiting Mignonette again.
Mignonette Downtown is the best seafood restaurant in Miami. Forget waiting in line at Joe's. They know how to prepare fish better than any other restaurant. The place is unpretentious, and straightforward. The wait staff are very good. It is a great place to go for dinner prior to an event at the Arsht Center. The wine list is very good, and not too pricey. Try it out!!
Ideal dinner out or in our case pre-theatre dinner for 6 going to a performance at the nearby Arsht Center. We parked on the street and walked the five blocks to the center--Biscayne walk is better lighting and sidewalks than NE2nd Ave. This restaurant is known for seafood but my husband and I enjoyed the Colorado lamb chops and chose asparagus and polenta sides. Many creative vegetable sides and of course oysters. Others at the table loved the Faroe Island salmon and the mussels.
AMAZING! This placed is tucked away near the downtown area down the street from the Adrienne Arsht Center. Went here before a ballet and it was the perfect pre-theater meal. We have the crabcake, benedicts with lobster and shrimp, and warm sticky buns. Everything was DIVINE! Service was great and I loved how small and intimate the place was. Especially loved the decor. Great place to check out if you love oysters; they have all different kinds and specials. Definitely going back!
We recently had yet another delicious meal at Mignonette. We had a pre theater dinner and our waiter was conscious of the time.
We had the chopped salad - super healthy and super crunchy. We had the crispy snapper which was just that! Fresh with crispy skin.
We had the spinach , cauliflower and artichoke sides and lived then all.
Their choices for wine by the glass was good.
Mignonette is our go-to restaurant when we go to a performance at the Arsht center. A choice of many varieties of fresh oysters, other seafood and meat make for a culinary experience. A lack of sauce smothering the fresh fish enables you to enjoy that dish, while a unique treatment of clams casino tempts us every time. The wait staff is knowledgeable, and they get us out in time for our theater evening.
The team at Mignonette never ceases to make me feel welcome. That's why I am a frequent customer. The delicious seafood delicacies are simple yet refined, and overall delicious. I defy anyone to turn away the sublime bread pudding with cayenne-hinted whipped cream. I'm just sayin'.
Despite my rating, we love Mignonette, but our last visit was not their finest hour. Our order of popcorn shrimp was overcooked and had a heavy breading, unlike past visits. My order of oysters, though tasty, was delivered incomplete. Despite mentioning a nut allergy, our muffin was delivered with almond butter. Our waiter did not check in often enough to make timely corrections. Most of all, the place was excrutiatingly loud, marred by a foursome that spoke and laughed so loudly that many diners moved. We too should have done so, too. We will be back, but not too soon.
I've been here five times in the year I've been in Miami, and it's always fantastic! I love everything about it, especially their cool vibe, mussels in white wine, and their South African lobster tails. They also have several selections from Boulevard Brewing Co., and as a Kansas City transplant in Miami, I love that. Go here and be happy.
I love this restaurant but this was the first time I've had a disappointing meal. The whole fish lacked flavor (and meat!), the scallops my usual favorite were dull and everything seemed overpriced for what was served. Charging for the bread is not a welcome gesture at a place like this, but forgivable if the rest of the meal were stellar - and for the first time, it was not. I am writing this in hopes that, if others have had similar experiences lately, they bring this to the attention of the owners. It is a wonderful space and concept, and I hope my experience was just an off night. Don't be deterred from trying it yourself if you haven't.
