Mignon - Prime Steaks, Seafood and Cocktails Ratings and Reviews
Our experience was fantastic! The server was personable and knowledgable. For our appetizer, we had the calamari. It was lightly breaded and came with a delicious sauce. My husband had the petit bib salad and I had the lobster bisque. Both were fresh and fantastic. Our entrees were the lamb and the filet mignon. My husband said it was the best lamb he had ever had. The filet was like butter. It was seasoned well and so tender and juicy. For dessert, we had the creme brulee. It was difference than normal creme brulee, because instead of vanilla, it was made of white chocolate and cinnamon. Everything we had was delicious and worth the money.
Our experience was good. Food was well prepared. We called an audible on "no mashed potato" and got some excellent asparagus instead with no problems. Owner came buy to visit and took the time to really get our opinion as opposed to the fly by to check. We will go back.
Our server was very good, we set in the patio area found it to be loud and not as elegant as the indoors area.
Food in over all was good but be prepared to pay big bucks. We have eaten at several high in restaurants and this was the highest bill we have ever paid for a meal and food was not as good as other restaurants.
Classy upscale dining experience. We had brunch with delicious French Press coffee. I had the seafood crepe which had fresh seafood and was prepared perfectly. My husband had the steak omelette and said it was delicious! Excellent service- have never been disappointed!
Had dinner on the patio with another couple. The ambience is amazing and the food and service are great! We shared the Brussel sprout fritters and foie gras appetizers. The gentlemen had steak dishes and the ladies had the Chilean sea bass. For dessert, we shared the creme brûlée, the bread pudding and the assortment of ice creams (lavender honey ice cream is to die for). Fantastic meal. Bill was high but you get what you pay for. There were no complaints from any of us.
Couldn't be happier with Mignon. This place has been a favorite for a while but it just keeps getting better. The service is worthy of a Michelin rating. The wine list is worthy of a Wine Spectator article. The food is amazing. And the owners are warm, inviting, and clearly passionate about their creation.
Have been eating with these guys since they opened, and they continue to provide wonderful dining experiences. this dinner was typical with cocktails, appetizer (foie gras), salad (mission fig), and beef tenderloin au poivre, plus potato, green beans and broccoli rabe. food was well-executed across the board, and Edwin is a fantastic server with great knowledge of food, wine, and people (he really is great to dine with). from the entrance, to the conversations with the owners, and coffee/dessert , it is always like eating with the better part of the family. always look forward to the next visit, whether lunch, brunch or dinner.
I came for the foie gras and they said it was only for the dinner menu but he'll ask the chef. They let me order it for lunch and it was HUUGE. So thankful. Of course, their mussels are to die for. I love their mussels. The best ever. Yummm Their crusted trout is also wonderful.
I saw this restaurant from the street as I was driving and loved hos it looked. I decided to make reservations for the weekend. It is located in a neighborhood strip mall. It has very pretty surroundings with a fountain and pond, the outdoor patio was enclosed with air conditioning because of the outdoor heat. The service was very good. We were surprised to see that there was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time we arrived. The food is very good but pricey.
Great food and fantastic service, attentive but not hovering. Enjoyed a delicious dinner for 8 on Father's Day. Warm spinach salad was delectable. Bacon wrapped quail tasted mainly like bacon, save your money and don't order it and eat bacon at home. The mussels were perhaps the best I have ever eaten in a seasoned broth that was heavenly. The rack of lamb was delicious, as was the filet mignon, which you would expect. Pomegranate martini was very mediocre, chilled cough syrup that was not shaken with ice. Chocolate dessert was very good and tira misu was ok but we were stuffed by then!
We've been dining at Mignon's for years - it's a hidden gem with an incredible menu, great wine list and beautiful atmosphere. The service is second-to-none, and the Owners always remember us and make us feel so special - I highly-recommend their Filet Oscar and Bacon-Wrapped Quail...delicious!
Dinner at Mignon was spectacular. We sat outside on the air conditioned patio for a beautiful view of the lake/fountain. Menu had many choices, but I got the trout. It was a complete meal (fish, potato & green beans) so a huge amount of food for $25. Did I mention it was delicious?!!! Good wine list with many choices. This place is awesome and I have driven past a million times but we never tried it - HUGE MISTAKE!! What a gem located right on Preston Road. We will definitely go back very soon and try the Prime Filet.
I was visiting from Los Angeles to Plano to visit my very sick brother. I asked his favorite food and without hesitation, he said - Lobster tails. I looked up nearby restaurants that serve lobster tails and Mignon popper up. I made a reservation through Open Table, but by then, my brother did not feel well enough to go out. I took my sister-in-law and nephew to dinner and the extremely helpful wait person assisted me in ordering the lobster tail dinner for my brother in sync with our own orders which we ate in. I had steak frites, my nephew had filet mignon, and my sister in law had the crab cake. We all had the lobster bisque which was delicious. All of our meals were perfect. We ordered our desserts - creme brule - to go along with my brother's dinner so we could eat together. The lobster dinner along with the lobster bisque wass perfectly packed. It was hot when we got back to my brother's house, and he enjoyed every bite. It made such a difference to him and to us to see him experience pleasure in the face of a brutal disease. I cannot express how much I appreciate how wonderfully our server attended to our needs.
The food seems to prep by another company... my crab cake was cold in the middle. My son steak was cook for medium red but the middle was brown like the steak was spoil and was cooked. My waiter nails had dirt. I didn't want to ruin mothers day for my wife so was stuck.
We booked reservations through opentable. When we got there they said it would be 5 minutes before our table was ready. It was thirty minutes before we were seated. They put us out on the patio and it was a very hot day. I saw people come in that did not have reservations that was seated before us.Since I had made reservations in advance this did not make me happy. I was standing near the hostess stand and could hear what people said when they came in. They did not put on their website that is was a set menu only for that day. They did not have a vegetarian option for the set menu which was 50 dollars a person. They made something up for vegetarian but they still charged us 50 dollars a person. Our waitress asked the manager to come speak with us about our concerns and he did not do that. I will not return there because their customer service and the way they handled things was not right. We heard other tables who also was not happy with the way the restaurant was handling things. The food was not that great either. It took them along time to serve us the meal. They were not prepared for Mother's day crowd at all.
We have eaten at Mignon on the patio on several occasions. The seats next to the water are too hot as there is no shade. We had Steak & eggs for Mother's Day brunch. The steak was sub-par, especially for place called Mignon. Otherwise the food and service were good.
