Arguably our best meal in 15 years of living in Nashville!
Great food, great service!
This was one of the most wonderful meals I've had in Nashville in months. Creative, delicious dishes; fabulous wine and very reasonably priced. I'll be back soon. The cabbage in ham broth is to die for!
I had Miel on my 'go to' list for quite a while. The atmosphere was wonderful - cozy, dim lighting, fresh smells from the kitchen. Get there early and enjoy a fantastic happy hour! What I wasn't crazy about was the confusing and limited menu. I am a game diner, so I have seen all sorts of menus, but there wasn't a particular'stand out' on this one. Even the wait staff had a hard time raving about any particular thing. I ordered the Celery Root side, which was a fabulous light tempura batter in an Asian style pool of sauce with fresh watercress draping it. it reads as fried celery root, but it is a light, fresh, flavorful item. I can't rave about the pork gnocchi. A tad bit vinegary, with gnocchi that was less than authentic. The pork was on the fatty aide with clumps of monzarella that didn't seem to fit. I didn't even bother with dessert. I was glad to finally get to go and mark it off my list, but won't be rushing back.
Overall good. Food was great but price seems off. Love the atmosphere.
Wonderful ambiance, fantastic service, innovative, yet comforting menu!
The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere is welcoming. I'm sure the food is objectively good, but not something my partner and I were used to. It was an overall pleasant experience though and I have a few people in mind to recommend this restaurant to.
Outstanding every time. Creative and delicious food. Seems (owner) is the consummate hostess. The staff is professional and courteous. I highly recommend to my friends and my clients every chance I get
Cabbage Salad in Ham Broth - AMAZING - I have wanted to eat this everyday since.
Fried Celery Root - Super interesting and delish
Pork Shoulder with Gnocchi - SO SO Good
-Butter Poached Squid - Server recommended it and it was just not good.
-Chanterelles - lacked flavor and salt
-Cheese Platter - tiny little portions intended to be shared but served on a marble slab that the server told us was too heavy to be passed.
Also, paying $6 for fermented butter scrapings that amounted to less than 1 pat of butter - The butter was really good, but it is an EXTREMELY small portion.
Our server was very nice and seemed knowledgeable, but she seemed to be spread to thin. For the prices and the type of food, she should have been much more attentive. We had to motion repeatedly to get her attention and she didn't bus the table. We sat there for a good 15 mins with piles of dirty dishes (we ordered a lot of food) while we paid, etc.
I would still go back and give it another shot though...esp for that cabbage broth!
I can’t rave enough about the food. Delicious and plentiful. And of course the service was awesome. Cameron was our server and his attention to detail was great. W3 will be returning.
I have been to Miel many times and keep coming back for the incredible dishes that remain a staple of the restaurant and the seasonal specialties that are always creative and delicious!
This place is a hidden gem in Nashville. The food is incredible. Every course was extremely thought out and delicious. Also the service was top notch. The owner, Seema, makes you feel right at home. My husband and I are foodies and have eaten all over Nashville, this is one of the best the city has to offer.
We've been to Miel on a few occasions for dinner, but we were intrigued by the Jazz Brunch this Sunday. We chatted with the owner, who thanked us for coming by to try their "experiment" for fall. It was definitely worth it. Excellent shrimp, smoky BBQ & butter prep and tasty dipping sauces. Enjoyed an excellent rose sparkling wine from their great wine list. We definitely need to visit more often.
The restaurant is cozy and sleek with farm to table food, which was tasty. The acoustics made the restaurant very, very loud.
Always an inventive menu- there has been something delicious and new to try each time we go to this restaurant.
Delightful evening! Starting with the excellent bread and house made butter.
So friendly and superb whether a neighborhood dinner or fancy-it's fabulous!
Always one of my favorite spots. Great food every time we go. Nice wine selection.
We haven't been to Miel in a long time but we're pleasantly surprised at their changes. They now offer some half size entrees & small plates. As usual the food is excellent & the service superior.
Fabulous; creative; tasty! Superb management. Best in Nashville.
As a native nashvillian please don’t take it lightly when I say this is probably my favorite restaurant in Nashville. Truly a culinary experience, they let you take your time and enjoy the wonderful meal. The servers are extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine and overall I can’t recommend this highly enough.
Creative menu that takes full advantage of what’s seasonally available or in their own garden. A neighborhood gem.
A quick decision to come here based on the lovely roasted chicken displayed on their landing page. But alas, no poultry on the menu so we pivoted to small plates of shrimp, squid and greenbeans. Nothing that said 'wow.' Maybe it was an off night? Regardless, the service was A++ :)
If you live in Sylvan Park/Richland area this is conveniently located, next to Hattie B's Hot Chicken and behind Bobby's Dairy Dip.
Having read the reviews for Miel and enjoying French cuisine we finally took the opportunity to dine there. I had read the reviews and agree the inside does have that greasy aroma, but after a short time it isn't a bother. It was a Wednesday night and not noisy like others mentioned, but with the hard surfaces of the walls, ceiling and floors that would have been an issue on a weekend. Having said that, we both agreed that the food was delicious, the sauces original and tastie and the value for a French dining experience well below so many other French restaurants we have dined at around the country and even in France. A little more variety would be nice, but looking at the preparation area, everything must have been scratch prepared for our dining pleasures rather than restaurants that have premade salads and appetizers and that made the relaxed pace well worth it. Our vote: we will return.
One of the best meal experiences I've had in a long time.
Wonderful F2T cuisine, in fact they grow many of their own veggies outside the roof and atop the restaurant. Cozy and quaint, succulent food.
Wow, we can't wait to return and I suspect that we ail be visiting Miel for dinner twice a month (its that good). The owner is clearly engaged in the quality, and the chef in the creativity, and the combination of those two is producing excellent dishes with a creative touch that we've not found elsewhere in Nashville nor beyond. REALLY great!
Connie, our server, was fantastic.
I look forward to our next opportunity
We have been coming to Miel for 10 years, and it just keeps getting better and better. This is our favorite restaurant in Nashville. The staff will remember you if you are a regular. The menu is always evolving with the seasons and the time. Great experience!
we went to Miel for my wife's graduation party. The service was great. The food was amazing, as a group I think we ordered almost everything on the menu. I would definitely go back.
Such a pleasing ambience, incredible menu, great wine list and exceptional service. Heather was the server and was pretty incredible. She was casual and personal but refined and elegant, had a great knowledge of the menu and wine and always touched the table when it was appropriate.
I knew it was going to be a pretty awesome dinner experience, but was blown away. Will be back, and am already trying to plan something in the private space!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The herbs and tomatoes are grown on the premises and are delicious.
Mack, Kent, John and I went to Miel as a "reunion" meal for those of us living out of town. Heather was the consummate professional hostess, wait staff and sommelier all rolled into one. She made us feel right at home and even joined in on our banter. Hats off to Heather and Miel!
This place was a pleasant surprise. It was labeled as French styled but it is actually eclectic and very good. the wine by the glass was good. The vegetarian entry we tried was outstanding and better than many vegetarian restaurants. Definitely worth trying. A pleasant feature is the lack of country music; it was a relief after the downtown scene.
Had yet another wonderful dining experience last week at Miel. They consistently provide amazing food. Their menu changes seasonally and they always have unique, delicious options for me and my husband. I'm not eating animal products so it can be a bit challenging at other nice restaurants to find something other than pasta. If you haven't been there - go!
this is a one-word review. YUM. We will be back, and back again.
Meal was good. Louder than expected for being listed as one of Nashville’s quietest restaurants.
Best restaurant in Nashville. Seasonal, creative, beautiful— every time.
Really enjoyed the menu and the servers. Lovely place to eat.
Don’t tell anyone about this restaurant. Enjoy and keep it a secret. We are from Boston, but this place is what down to earth foodies want. Enjoy!
