I had eaten here before and thought it would be a great location to bring my employees for a post holiday celebration. The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe 2 or 3 other tables when we were seated. I was very disappointed at the service we received, it was made very clear to me that we were a bother to our waiter, he was not attentive or very polite. The star of the night though was the food. Everyone at the table raved about what they had for dinner, the taste, the presentation on the plate, everything food wise was outstanding! I hope this was just a bad night for our waiter, the food will bring me back again!

As part of a hotel, the entrance to the restaurant is set far back and not obvious upon entering the Intercontinental. The menu is limited so not a standard 'hotel restaurant' - all the food was excellent. We came at night but I'm sure the view during the day is lovely. We were looking for a bit more private seating and given the high seating and how close the tables are to each other, it wasn't quite as romantic as we hoped, but the restaurant was not busy either. And the server was appropriately accommodating but distant to give us time to ourselves on our date.

We went for my birthday and had an excellent dinner at a window table with a great view of Boston's waterfront. We enjoyed delicious cocktails and great red wine along with our selection of appetizers and entrees. The lobster and clam chowder, escargot in puff pastry, steak frites and the roast duck were all delicately prepared with the utmost attention to flavor. The sauces were the stars of the show! A special complimentary chocolate dessert completed our dinner, along with a lit candle and "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the dessert plate. This was the perfect choice for a special occasion.

Decent place inside the hotel. Service was great. The server wasn’t warm or welcoming at first but provided good service regardless. Food were decent. Ordered grilled octopus, steak frites, duck confit (my fave) and seafood stew

Took a client to the always pretty and delicious Miel, and this time was no different. There is a stunning view of Fort Point Channel and the Seaport district. The food was just what we needed on a cold winter's day - delicious French onion soup and a wonderful harvest salad. Service was attentive and the ambience perfect for a private meal.

We went Christmas night when they offered a limited menu. I expected an okay meal. To our surprise it was delicious! Not inventive or unique but truly delicious and a very fair price. ($60 for three courses. ). The room is bright and friendly - great for large parties It feels like hotel dining but for the money, convenience and quality, it delivers.

Everyone in my party is raving about the entire experience at Miel. The food, service, wine and ambiance was exceptional. It has been a tradition for almost 15 years for me and my siblings to have Christmas dinner at our favorite restaurant. We decided to change this year and picked Miel because it followed our theme for French food on Christmas. After we saw the Christmas menu we were sold. Miel is going to be our new tradition.

We had the christmas menus. It was good, a bit too rich. The weakness was the desert.
It is a Provencal theme, but not authentic, maybe the chef(s) should be more inspired by Provence . That is where I am from so the critic is a bit easier from me.

Overall, I will definitely go back there. The service was real good, Kudos to the staff!
Again if the food was not perfect, it was good.

Beginning with the reservation we received superior service from the Miel staff. I indicated that we had a special dietary restriction that could not be addressed in the Christmas prix fixe menu. The staff contacted me to discuss menu options with me. At one point, I was even speaking with the chef! The food was exquisite. Scallops were very fresh and cooked to perfection. Another in our party had the prime rib which was to die for.
The menu was well planned nicely presented. We had a lovely experience overall.

We were eager to find a new place near the Seaport and found Miel through OT. Menu and prices looked perfect — we love French. Could not find the restaurant, until we finally realized that its street address placed it inside the Intercontinental Hotel — no mention of that in any write-up. Once inside, even approaching the restaurant was baffling since it was literally wrapped around and behind a bar of another name. The drunken shouting and loud music from the bar (at 7pm on a Saturday) clashed directly with the attempted ambience of sparsely populated restaurant. My husband’s shrimp on pasta was a hit, but my roast chicken was overdone and blackened (not on purpose). Service and desserts proved to be the saving grace, and with no drinks, we were set free $120 later. “French” decor appeared plasticky and and an unused chair at our table was visibly falling apart. Lovely idea, with committed staff but wrong location and poorly executed. Desole Miel — pas encore!

Miel is an understated space with widely spaced tables. The ambience was nice for quiet conversation. The food was terrific and prices were very reasonable. The wine list was affordable with a great selection. The service was efficient and unassuming. I enjoyed the dinning experience very much and would go back any time.

Quite overpriced for the experience. Nearly 30 minutes between my soup and main, and the main, while interesting in concept, wasn't so well-executed. Menu is more typical Parisienne than Provencal, given the declared "bistro Provencal" moniker. Servers sleepwalking (e.g. brought the wrong drink just a couple of minutes after I had asked quite specifically for a certain beverage); I say sleepwalking because the restaurant was only a quarter full. Perhaps they were still a little peeved from having to deal with a loud, condescending, high-maintenance lout (the kind that talks over people because, you know, he's obviously smarter than everyone else and we're all just wasting his time. He's very busy, you know, what with multiple cell phones and such) a few tables away from mine.

Quiet, anniversary dinner with outstanding service and great food! Restaurant has beautiful ambiance , and adjoins the Rumba lounge at the Intercontinental Hotel. We stopped by to have a cocktail in the lounge, which we agreed was the best we’d ever had. Upscale, yet cozy and intimate with fireplaces and comfortable seating.

Very, very disappointing Thanksgiving dinner at Miel. The food had clearly been prepared hours earlier. Service was ok, but nobody asked if we had enjoyed our meal or why most of the food that came out wasn’t eaten. The worst dining experience in a very long time.

Very nice Sunday brunch. Option of ala carte or buffet- we chose the former. Was a celebration of my wife's 50th and they gave us a nice complimentary fruit plate and desert!! Very attentive and friendly service. The only thing I did not like at all was the table next to us was very close and a single individual was eating there. He could listen in on our conversation with ease.

This was our third visit to Miel, this time we brought friends with us. As always the food was fabulous .. the service was abysmal. It took from 4:45 pm to 7:30 to be served an entree and a dessert. We were the ONLY table there and felt the waiter was upset because we didn't order appetisers or drinks (We had drinks from the bar), the service was slow and unattentive. We had to go ask someone to get some water. The bread didn't come out until the meal came out ...the waiter questioned the way we paid our bill (part cash part credit card)...put the wrong amount on the wrong credit card and to finish off, didn't give one of us back our credit card until we were about to leave. We found ourselves apologizing to our friends for the dreadful service and they were appalled at the "indifferent" service that was "not up to snuff for a high end restaurant" (their words in a text to me). So will we recommend Miel? Not sure.

We loved the space, the location and the food. But sadly the staff seemed ill prepared. It was a Saturday evening and all of Boston and Cambridge were packed yet Miel was empty.
Too bad.
We don’t necessarily need overly attentive servers, but at these prices we should at least get some who seem to care.
