Very nice Sunday brunch. Option of ala carte or buffet- we chose the former. Was a celebration of my wife's 50th and they gave us a nice complimentary fruit plate and desert!! Very attentive and friendly service. The only thing I did not like at all was the table next to us was very close and a single individual was eating there. He could listen in on our conversation with ease.

This was our third visit to Miel, this time we brought friends with us. As always the food was fabulous .. the service was abysmal. It took from 4:45 pm to 7:30 to be served an entree and a dessert. We were the ONLY table there and felt the waiter was upset because we didn't order appetisers or drinks (We had drinks from the bar), the service was slow and unattentive. We had to go ask someone to get some water. The bread didn't come out until the meal came out ...the waiter questioned the way we paid our bill (part cash part credit card)...put the wrong amount on the wrong credit card and to finish off, didn't give one of us back our credit card until we were about to leave. We found ourselves apologizing to our friends for the dreadful service and they were appalled at the "indifferent" service that was "not up to snuff for a high end restaurant" (their words in a text to me). So will we recommend Miel? Not sure.

We loved the space, the location and the food. But sadly the staff seemed ill prepared. It was a Saturday evening and all of Boston and Cambridge were packed yet Miel was empty.
Too bad.
We don’t necessarily need overly attentive servers, but at these prices we should at least get some who seem to care.

Great selection of appetizers and entrées. The scallops and the duck are two of the better ones we tried. A rare restaurant that has both good meals and deserts worth staying for. Crème brûlée, of course, and the trifle were great.

Understaffed even when the restaurant wasn’t busy for breakfast. Poor lady was rushing around but breakfast took 90 mins and over an hour to be cooked. No apologies and a hefty check. Really underwhelmed. Pretentious and disappointing.

Decided to come here with an old friend and we had a nice experience! The location is beautiful and easily accessible. Unfortunately the service was slow (we took a while to decide but even then it took some time) even though they weren't busy. Also, there were pretty limited options on the lunch menu. Besides that, it was a lovely experience!

The beautiful thing about Miel, aside from the lovely cuisine, wine and view, is the wait staff that is consistent and like family, and in turn treats clients like family but with the appropriate formality the venue suggests. Have visited for years as a hotel guest and now as a local. Never disappointed. Pricey but every penny worth it. A favorite.

Beautiful waterfront ambiance; we were an adult family group of six and ate outdoors. The decor of the indoor restaurant, where I have eaten previously is very attractive, but it was overly air conditioned, cooler than the terrace. Most of the food was excellent, loved the crab cake. Portions were on the generous side. Gazpacho reportedly too salty and spicy, octopus with chorizo a bit on the heavy side, but very tasty. Servers were very pleasant. Overall it was very pleasant.

Did not know about Miel at the Intercontinental hotel. Bought a Travel Zoo coupon and can not say enough about the restaurant and value with the coupon. Beautiful outdoor location at the seaport. Fantastic meal and presentation. Menu is not large but we had the Scallops, Sole piccata and steak dinners - all extraordinary. Large salad (enough for 3), great desert & wine list, excellent service. No complaints and we will return with or without a coupon. Highly recommended!! Indoor dining room is also quite elegant. A must try.

The food lived up to the "French bistro" designation, and menu items were created and presented consistent with high standards of quality and authenticity. The ambiance, however, screamed large chain hotel dining room. Outdoor dining (the reason we chose the restaurant) was unavailable due to a "function" on the terrace.

Another reliably excellent business meal at Miel. The food and service were excellent and the location convenient, with a beautiful view to Fort Point Channel. The elegant décor was most appropriate for a business lunch.

We had a wonderful meal and great table at Miel, but I really have to commend the staff. It was my daughter's 30th birthday celebration and Miel had graciously said that we could bring in a cake. As I was carrying it into the restaurant, the handle broke on the bag and the cake did a lovely little swan dive in its container - RATS! The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They took it back to the kitchen for me and the pastry chef was able to not only reassemble it to look like a birthday cake, but they added some strawberries to make it look even more festive. Our waiter was a hoot and the whole staff came out to ensure that we were enjoying everything.
THANK YOU SO MUCH and we will definitely be back!!

Service was horrible- 1 man was in charge of almost all of the outdoor tables, so we weren't even offered a second beverage or the desert list, both of which we wanted. I feel for the man as he was super busy, but when I'm paying over $50 per person I expect a certain level of service.

Our food definitely sat under the warming lamps for quite some time, as the duck had no flavor and was so rough we couldn't cut it, and When stating the fish was bad they just took it away without apology.

Great ambience and location but will not return- much better restaurants in Boston for the price point

I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday (I wrote a previous review a few days ago when we spontaneously got dinner here as well, but this dinner was planned prior to that). We ate outside this time and the atmosphere was very nice. I had a voucher, which was addressed quickly and efficiently by our server. We ordered our drinks, appetizer, and entrees all at once. Service was very slow today (not sure if that's a norm for Friday nights here) and I felt like they were understaffed. We didn't get bread until 10-15 minutes after we ordered and our server forgot to make our drinks so we got them right before our entrees (he apologized vehemently though). We spent 2 hours here when we usually spend half that time at other restaurants so we very quickly ordered our dessert and left. The food and drink were great though and great value with the voucher I used. Maybe we got treated differently because I used a voucher? We had a hard time flagging down our server and dinner lasted longer than we expected. Miel is still a great restaurant with great food but maybe they were off with their service tonight and / or the voucher played some role in the way we were served? My boyfriend still enjoyed his food and so did I. Not sure if we'll be dining here again anytime soon though.

This was a very last minute dinner and we found Miel via the app. It was empty when we got there but there was an event going on outside catered by Miel. I got the Vegan Ratatouille Mafalde and my boyfriend got the Diver Scallops. I also ordered red sangria, which was amazing. The pasta dish I got was just okay -- it was similar to something we've made at home befoee, but the Diver Scallops were delicious! They were seared perfectly and the risotto and oxtail were the perfect complement. The service was very timely and efficient. We had a pretty good dinner there. The location is prime near the waterfront and it is a short walk away from South Station. Miel isn't the best restaurant we've eaten at but it's definitely not the worst. I would come back for the seafood and steak next time!

Miel is a great French brasserie. It is located at the InterContinental Boston, and has a great decor inside the restaurant. In the summer, they have outdoor shaded seating with a nice view of the Seaport and Fort Point channel. I was here for brunch. The best deal on brunch cocktails is to get a carafe, which will pour 5-6 drinks. You save a lot of money this way with a carafe being $40 but a single drink priced at $15. They have a screwdriver that is made with great orange juice and Grey Goose vodka which was very refreshing poured over ice. For a brunch entree, I ordered the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and a side of hash browns. Instead of an English Muffin, a light, yet sweet, cornbread is used as the base. On top of that is a large crab cake with lumps of crab meat and very little filler. The crab cakes were better than some of the ones I've had in Maryland. More than 90% of it was actual crab meat. On top of the crab cakes was an avocado spread, then a perfectly poached egg, and then Hollandaise sauce. This was a best of breed brunch entree. The hash browns, however, were subpar and a bit overcooked, which knocks down the review from 5-stars to 4-stars along with the service being just okay and not exceptional. Overall, though, I would certainly return to Miel.

Excellent service atmosphere and food. There was a private party with happy hour in the one area. They were having a blast. It was a bit noisy. However all other times we've been here it's been very nice. The chairs are comfortable. The staff is very accommodating.
