My wife and I went to Meil for an anniversary dinner and they hit it out of the park.
We started with a bottle of Louis Roederer which we had at our wedding.
We started with the Warm Goat Cheese Croquet with Dried Cherries, Arugula, Toasted Pecans, Pomegranate and Shallot Vinaigrette. Outstanding! We both loved it.
We then ordered our entree, my wife chose the Provincetown Cioppino with Shrimp, Mussels, Half a Lobster, Cod, Spicy Garlic Tomato Broth and Grilled Sourdough. She said it was the best she had ever had.
I opted for the Roasted Hudson Valley Duck Breast finished with Hazelnut Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Wild Mushrooms, Foie Gras & Tru e Creama and Apricot Mustard! This was the total bomb. I love duck and this was very cleverly prepared, the flavors were sublime an the finish and presentation were superb.
The finish was just as nice as the entire meal, the staff presented us with a flourless chocolate tort with a Happy Anniversary Message written in chocolate on the tray.
It was a perfect ending to an exceptional dining experience.
I cannot recommend this establishment enough. They go out of their way to make the dining experience a top notch event and the service was second to none.
Food to die for, great views and attentive staff.
Came with my bestie for Easter Brunch 2018. Lovely setting with a very French feel. The food was delicious, from the seafood and sushi to the carving stations (tasty sauces!), to the festive, gorgeous, playful dessert display. It was busy, but our server was quite pleasant and helpful. I must say one of the desserts was beyond splendid - giant fruit-flavored white chocolate covered strawberries on top of a divine chocolate mousse served in a chocolate cup. That was a showstopper!
Wonderful experience! They went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday memorable - cake, candles, champagne... without even asking!! Really top notch. And the food was amazing too!!
Service was excellent, unfortunately, the food was not. My halibut was not fresh, cooked dry and braised in an odd paprika glaze. I was disappointed as the place has a terrific view and service to match, bit challenging to find from the street / Uber as it's tucked away behind the hotel.
Enjoyable experience. Our waiter was new and he tried very hard to insure we had a wonderful time. The food was amazing.
The food at Miel is superb. Everything is high quality, delicious and beautifully presented. The ambience is lovely. Perfect for fine dining and romance at night, and business meals during the day.
Keep in mind this is a "French" restaurant so the service is pretty slow. Waited nearly 45 minutes for two plates of scrambled eggs. Not crowded at all and there appeared to be enough help..can't understand it. Next time, choosing another place for brunch..and so should you.
Great service, delicious food, beautiful room. Music from the Rum Bar was way too loud.
Everything was excellent except the crab cake, which was mushy and did not have any real "chunks" of crab in it. For the price it should be much better
Great place for a business lunch or meal with friends. Food was great, staff were excellent. You can’t go wrong.
We were staying in the hotel so it was nice to just walk down to dinner. Seated in a nice corner table, private. I had the haddock and my husband had steak frites. Both delicious. We shared an apple dessert. Scrumptious
The escargot dish and the lobster clam chowder delicious. Scallops sweet and good size. Chiopino good but lobster meat overcooked. Hostess spectacular.
This is the 2nd time I’ve been to this restaurant and I have the same feedback as I have last time. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food is amazing, I especially appreciated the vegan options on the menu for my boyfriend who is vegan.
However, again, the service was noticeably lacking and slow and disappointing. Both times I’ve been to the restaurant I’ve tried to give the server the benefit of several many excuses but unfortunately the restaurant had too few guests for the service to be as slow as it was. It truly felt like our server either forgot or just didn’t care about us. The fact that this is the 2nd time I’ve thought this is really disheartening because the restaurant itself is wonderful. I truly wonder if they’re trained to be slow...which wouldn’t make sense but this is how shocking the slow service was.
I want to clarify that none of this is speaking to the friendliness of the staff or the quality of the food, all of that was totally fine! Thank you for the experience but please be more courteous of your customer’s time in the future!
Main course and appetizer were good. Dessert was very disappointing. The crepe was borderline disgusting. The lava cake was just so-so. For the price, this is sub-par.
Came here for Valentines Day. They were very accomodating even though it was a prix fixed menu. They kindly substituted shrimp cocktail for my husband's appetizer and another wine for one of the wine pairings. The dinner was delicious for the most part: soup and main course were delicious, however the dessert was meh.
I was surprised how empty the restaurant was for a Saturday night, but this was nice as it was not super noisy as some restaurants can be. The service was very slow, which was surprising given the low volume of diners. That said, the appetizers were sizable and enough for two to share (the escargot was amazing!), and the entrees were cooked perfectly and were delicious.
Expensive but good food
We truly enjoyed our dining experience at Miel. From every aspect of our dinner, we were impressed and received impeccable service. This was a special occasion for me as we were celebrating the 61st birthday of my sweetheart who is also a US serviceman. Since it was a surprise, he was still in uniform but was made immediately comfortable; and the staff's graciousness and hospitality was unsurpassed. Thank you for a memorable night and we look forward to dining at Miel again.
Celebrate my Daughter 18th birthday, when I made the reservation & I mention the occasion & wrote down my daughtet’s name. When they brought the cake out, they spell my daughter’s name wrong. Next day we got a confirmation from the credit card company & realize the restaurant charged $50 more on my bill. Call the restaurant & spike with someone & she said, that’s how they do but it will address in a few days. I don’t understand why. Other 5 stars hotel restaurant doesn’t do that.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. The food was amazing, the dishes were creative, delicious and surprisingly abundant. Octopus, duck, shrimp four cheese ravioli, all well cooked with the perfect garnish. The ambiance is quiet and romantic, but the noise can be tricky because the restaurant is inside a hotel, next to the bar. At the end, they surprised us with a desert and a thoughtful happy anniversary legend that made a difference, and we decided to stay for coffee. They serve Illy espresso — for coffee lovers, that's not an easy find. Recommended!
Best escargot I have ever had . Beautiful views and great service. Our waiter Fred was awesome.
Loved coming back to Miel! The kale salad was amazinggggg! The lobster clam chowder was the right fit for today’s weather! Great seeing my dads Secratary and having the view right next to us! I love this place! Michael was very attentive as well :).
Appearance of the restaurant was very elegant to my taste. beautiful French Furnitures and the chandelier is a wow factor.I celebrated my husband's birthday we enjoyed the food. In the staff is very nice and very accommodating.
I had eaten here before and thought it would be a great location to bring my employees for a post holiday celebration. The restaurant was pretty empty, maybe 2 or 3 other tables when we were seated. I was very disappointed at the service we received, it was made very clear to me that we were a bother to our waiter, he was not attentive or very polite. The star of the night though was the food. Everyone at the table raved about what they had for dinner, the taste, the presentation on the plate, everything food wise was outstanding! I hope this was just a bad night for our waiter, the food will bring me back again!
It was very good but a bit disappointed in the food. I was hoping for great food not just good food
As part of a hotel, the entrance to the restaurant is set far back and not obvious upon entering the Intercontinental. The menu is limited so not a standard 'hotel restaurant' - all the food was excellent. We came at night but I'm sure the view during the day is lovely. We were looking for a bit more private seating and given the high seating and how close the tables are to each other, it wasn't quite as romantic as we hoped, but the restaurant was not busy either. And the server was appropriately accommodating but distant to give us time to ourselves on our date.
We went for my birthday and had an excellent dinner at a window table with a great view of Boston's waterfront. We enjoyed delicious cocktails and great red wine along with our selection of appetizers and entrees. The lobster and clam chowder, escargot in puff pastry, steak frites and the roast duck were all delicately prepared with the utmost attention to flavor. The sauces were the stars of the show! A special complimentary chocolate dessert completed our dinner, along with a lit candle and "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the dessert plate. This was the perfect choice for a special occasion.
Excellent experience, comfortable, nice atmosphere, excellent food, great service.
A nice Special Occasion place
Great service! Food is good but a Lil bit pricey. Enjoy the view and warm comfort.
Service was awful. Very inattentive. We had to refill our own champagne glasses because they rarely came by. Husband's steak wasn't great. We had to skip dessert because we had a show to catch and no one checked on us for a long time (I said we have 30 minutes, I can get dessert). I get that it is a french restaurant and meals can be slow, but it is also in a hotel and they knew we had a show. We had two hours. We have also been to many French restaurants, some in actual France and the service is noticeably lacking.
This isn't the restaurant's fault, but there were kids and they were not well behaved (didn't stay seated). There was also a large group that kept taking flash pictures. So that ruined the ambience.
The one thing that was amazing was the escargot. Really fantastic.
For the price, I would not return.
Went there a few times was good. This time the service was lacking and food wasn’t great. Not really worth the drive in any longer
Decent place inside the hotel. Service was great. The server wasn’t warm or welcoming at first but provided good service regardless. Food were decent. Ordered grilled octopus, steak frites, duck confit (my fave) and seafood stew
Took a client to the always pretty and delicious Miel, and this time was no different. There is a stunning view of Fort Point Channel and the Seaport district. The food was just what we needed on a cold winter's day - delicious French onion soup and a wonderful harvest salad. Service was attentive and the ambience perfect for a private meal.
Lovely spot for lunch! Tuna tartare and Messe were fantastic, wine list was mundane.
We went Christmas night when they offered a limited menu. I expected an okay meal. To our surprise it was delicious! Not inventive or unique but truly delicious and a very fair price. ($60 for three courses. ). The room is bright and friendly - great for large parties It feels like hotel dining but for the money, convenience and quality, it delivers.
Everyone in my party is raving about the entire experience at Miel. The food, service, wine and ambiance was exceptional. It has been a tradition for almost 15 years for me and my siblings to have Christmas dinner at our favorite restaurant. We decided to change this year and picked Miel because it followed our theme for French food on Christmas. After we saw the Christmas menu we were sold. Miel is going to be our new tradition.
Lovely setting for a special occasion. Service is great and food is delicious.
We had the christmas menus. It was good, a bit too rich. The weakness was the desert.
It is a Provencal theme, but not authentic, maybe the chef(s) should be more inspired by Provence . That is where I am from so the critic is a bit easier from me.
Overall, I will definitely go back there. The service was real good, Kudos to the staff!
Again if the food was not perfect, it was good.
Great experience. Polished service. A very traditional and delicious three course. And very gracious response to an unexpected mishap. Would recommend it to everyone.
