Pretty restaurant setting. Greeted and seated right away. Staff was friendly. The food was average, I had the avocado smash on toast and the toast was soggy, but the flavor was still good. My daughter had the baked eggs over corned beef hash, which she seemed to enjoy. With so many places to choose, I’m not sure I would go back.

For the appetizer I had the grilled octopus, which was fabulous. For main entree I ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked exactly how I wanted it. I also loved that the steak tips were a little flaky and very fresh quality. Overall the food was a pleasant surprise. The service was outstanding. I will be coming back!

The place is big but looks outdated and the space is weirdly distributed. The food is nothing special.. but is well served.. The music is elevator music and everyone is so quiet. Is boring there and the food is mediocre.. service was great and i guess is never full.

Overall things were good, we just wished we would see the servers more actually. It was a little confusing because at first it was one but then we didn't see him for a long time and a different one came, but then they traded off, with who would eventually come over? The food was good, just not outstanding, and the sole had some bones in it so I guess the prep cook was a little sloppy. I wouldn't say it's our favorite French around town, maybe around 4th, but we'd probably go back sometime.

Our server was wonderful! I called ahead to let them know it was a special birthday dinner for my boyfriend and they brought over a glass of champagne and a desert plate! Thank you so much!

The sole was also phenomenal!

Restaurant week delicious lemon sole and squash soup. Accommodating waiter who recommended the creme brûlée but I didn’t listen ☹️. Will return next restaurant week for sure.

It was 4 of us celebrating Xmas and March Birthdays. We had Travel Zoo vouchers that we purchased last December. The host Kevin, who was very nice sat us by the window to see the Boston view. He politely took all our coats.
We had Muil for our waiter...not sure if I spelled his name correctly. He was very professional...attentive but not a nuesense.
The food was delish but our only complaint was it wasn’t that hot but not cold enough to make a fuss. My Friend Sara and I had the crab cake Benedict and it was amazing!
At the end Muil brought us out two complementary chocolate mousse cake with a Happy Birthday and lit candles. Excellent time! Thank you to the staff!

Second time here. Loved it the first time. Service was good, but the food (same dish I ordered my first visit) was not good at all. Over-cooked, rubbery monkfish with substituted ingredients that didn’t work for the dish. And no one mentioned the need for the substitution or gave us the choice to order something else instead.

The apps were outstanding, but the main dishes weren't quite as good. It's much better in the summer, when the patio is open and you can just imagine the patriots tossing tea into the harbor and winning their sixth Super Bowl! Service was excellent thanks to Nicola.

Beautiful view. The food was excellent. Scallops cooked perfectly. Waiter was very attentive and had a very nice personality. The whole experience was delightful.

I got the prosciutto and burrata toast, which was delicious. Usually I’m wary of burrata, as it can be runny, but this was very spreadable. I also ordered the truffle eggs with pork belly, which was as equally delicious. I will definitely be coming back soon!

We ordered a filet mignon well done. It came in burnt from outside with totally black uneatable meat and bloody inside. Clearly the person responsible in the kitchen didnt know what to do. The waiter took it back and recooked the steak. It cam back ok but by then my wife had finished eating.
My wife ordered scallops. She wanted to substitute the mashed potato side with a veggie. The waiter said no. And there was no side order to purchase. The waiter admitted “you are pretty much stuck with the sides”. The desserts were fine but nothing to die for: a chocolate lava cake and a strawberry cheesecake. Really? For a French restaurant? One would expect they would have chocolate profiteroles.
The waiter was polite but overworked. Too many people were at the front desk but only 2 waiters on the floor.
We paid $235 for 2 on valentine dinner but it was a poor experience. With indulgence, I would rate them between the olive garden and the cheesecake factory.

It's cute! Nice big bay windows let in a lot of light over the harbour. Only complaint was that the menu was a little less varied than I would have liked. Wanted a la carte because I don't eat very much. Might come back and try the buffet. The spread seemed huge. They didn't offer to validate parking, though, so that was irritating when I paid for that. The waiter was great, very sweet. I'd come back.

Went here on a friday night around 6:30 and we were just about the only people inside the restaurant. It was dead. The food tastes great but... I was not very happy with going to this restaurant because there is just so many other better restaurants around boston to choose from.
Overall good but not great.

I was prepared to love MIEL - the photos of their dining room were beautiful and I love french bistros. Unfortunately it was terrible and I can't recommend this place to anyone.

When we arrived for brunch I was surprised to see that it is actually connected to the hotel's rum bar. The transition from 2 completely different restaurant concepts was awkward. As we walked to our table at the far end of the restaurant I noticed that every banquette we walked by had terrible stains on the seatbacks. I'm talking about highly visible stains as we were walking by. I doubt they have been cleaned in years.

Once we were seated and looked at the menu (which I admit I hadn't checked in advance) I struggled to find any resemblance to a french bistro menu. Corned beef hash at a french restaurant? The most appetizing option looked like the avocado smash, but I couldn't bring myself to pay $23 for avocado toast with smoked salmon. If everything else about the experience felt special I probably would have gladly paid it. Instead I chose an omelette which was mediocre, and didn't even finish it. The home fries I got on the side were inconsistently sized and a little dried out, some of the pieces were the size of a dime.

In summary, MIEL will be a hard pass for me anytime in future.

I’m wasn’t super impressed. We came for NYE while staying at the intercontinental. It was very convenient and had all the outward appearances of a fancy dinner. Service was impeccable and ambiance lovely but for a $300 dinner the food was unimpressive. I had the sea bass and i honestly can’t put my finger on what was missing, but it just wasn’t quite there.

I would have given 1-star but the dining room manager, Lola, is outstanding and she alone deserves a star. We had dinner here and it was really disappointing. The food is good. The ambience is great. The service was terrible. In fact, it was so bad that for the first time in decades of going to upscale restaurants I asked for my dessert to go because I couldn’t sit in there another minute. At one point, a diner at another table went and found us plates because that’s the only way we were getting them. The waiter was so passive aggressive that he made us order desserts with our mains because he said there wouldn’t be time afterward (it was 8pm and they close at 11). The food is good but it’s 1) not French and 2) no more than “good”. So, the value is poor. This restaurant has a huge opportunity to reinvent themselves due to the exquisite location and demand in that area. I hope they do.

Everything was good but not great. Despite having a OT reservation the hostess sat us right next to the kitchen entrance and she apologized saying, "Sorry for this table. We have lots of reservations" - some of he more desirable tables were NEVER sat for the entire 1 1/2 hours we were there. I am curious as to why our reservation was not deemed as worthy of a good table as the other reservations. Food took a long time and we were never offered refills on empty wine glasses that we would have ordered.
Glad I had a Travelzoo coupon as it would never have been worth full price.

We expected more. Staying in The Intercontinental Boston, we felt that it was a great choice for a nice dining spot on a cold winter day. Ambiance was good. The setup was eclectic and not so elegant but we got a nice cozy table at the window with a great view of the Tea Party museum. The restaurant was half empty but the two of us were seated next to a family with four little kids who were very noisy. I do not understand the parents who take their tired little kids out to a fancy restaurant at 8 in the evening and let them do whatever they want. The restaurant management did nothing about it. The food was hardly edible. Clams were undercooked and the fish smelled. Won’t go there again despite good though slow service.

Christmas Dinner was fantastic. The smoked scallops in potato leek soup was excellent but the Bouillabaisse containing large portions of seafood was beyond wonderful. And then there was the dessert. It was so delicious. I opted to do the wine pairing which only enhanced the meal more. Fabulous. I have eaten here many time and the quality never changes. Kudos to the Chef.

Great service prior to my 12pm-noon arrival by Cristian. My waiter & busers gave me first-class service on Christmas Day. A Christmas lunch I will never forget.

Loud, limited menu, very poor waitstaff. My knife wouldn’t cut the brisket, the waiter was never there to poor our empty wine glasses, the ambience was noisy.

Beautiful decor and nice light in the dining space at Miel. The service was outstanding, I wish the brunch menu had more vegetarian/venga/gluten-free options and a more varied creative menu.
