We used a TravelZoo coupon and it was a great deal. Our waitress Malia was very attentive and the food was great. We had shrimp and scallops and lamb shank and both dishes were excellent.
Staff was very inviting and environment was perfect
Very nice dinner at Miel, a first time visit to catch up with a few I hadn’t seen in a long while. It was an early dinner on a Monday night, so there weren’t too many diners. We had a great table looking out over the water. Our waiter Nico was great and recognized we had a lot to talk about, so gave us the time and space to do so. I had the duck and my friend had the pasta Provençal, both were delicious. We also had dessert, the chocolate molten lava cake and Creme brûlée. Enjoyable dinner, we both would return, based on this experience.
Very good spot for a business lunch. Private enough that others don't overhear your conversation.
Fantastic service. Very personalized. Great outdoor eating. Highly recommend.
Love the food, service and ambiance!!!
Miel was good, as a solid, generic, city restaurant. The expectation was French cuisine but that was a minor element. Good atmosphere, reasonable noise level, very slow service. Food good, not great. No unique elements to the food. An average / generic restaurant in my opinion.
Belle Glos Pinot Noir was delicious!
Awesome service ! Great food and the ambiance was great for a business lunch
Great meal and service!
I've hosted many business dinners and family celebrations, large and small, at Miel. Why do I return? Well typically the food is excellent, the service attentive, and the setting on the rear terrace just enchanting. The price point - expensive but not steak-house expensive - is reasonable, at least when Miel delivers on expectations. Though the dinner was still good, we were disappointed with our dinner party (of six) Sunday night (9/8). To me a dinner is a like a movie - the perfect length is about two hours. We dragged a bit ultimately topping three hours. The wait staff, though nice, was spotty in its attention to detail, the biggest issue being the delivery of five dinners for six diners, losing track of one order of duck (while one was delivered) so that one in our group had to wait. The Pellegrino was delivered warm, not chilled, and we had to chase in follow up on several items, like the gluten-free bread for my wife and daughter. Food quality was good but not quite to prior standard. I almost always order the duck because you don't get this at home but the three small pieces were presented virtually bare and did not have much taste. The sole was fine but again I expect better especially from a French restaurant and the sauce was a bit gloppy. Only the roast chicken was to usual standards. The salads were all right, but the peach promised more than delivered - the peaches in small bites were buried beneath a mountain of lettuce and croutons and uninspired dressing. Perhaps I'm a bit spoiled by past performance, but when you're investing $600 for an evening, particularly for a celebratory occasion (here a birthday), instead of the expense-paid business dinner, you expect more. Regrettably I'd think twice about returning.
Overall had a great night at Miel. I specified for a table by the window and the staff was accommodating. My first first server noticed my date and I were sat next to a larger, louder party and offered to move us to a quieter table.
I ordered the Salmon Steak. Cooked very well but was a tad bland. The sauce did help but overall the salmon need more seasoning. My date ordered the Sole; spectacular.
They were out of swordfish even thru it was7pm.
Salmon was very good
Totally missed that this was a restaurant in a hotel which kind of impacted ambiance. It was fairly empty and clear the only other guests were hotel guests. Food was ok but not anything that wowed me and for the price would have rather gone to another great Boston restaurant. We ordered the grilled octopus, scallops, shrimp and tortellini, and chocolate lava cake. Service was very slow.
My husband & 1 came for brunch 3 years ago, we were served a burn I mean burnt bread with bad customer service experience. We want to give it a second chance. We rsvp brought a guest with us. The service was great, but we ordered burger medium rare we got well done, our guest ordered chicken very dry, I ordered lentil soup it was very salty and I returned it. We return half eaten burger. With that said, I will never comeback or refer to anyone. It’s shame world class hotel can’t figure it out.
We were asked by management to take care of the bill, we refused to do that. We are not looking for free bad food. Change or train your chef.
Went for Dine Out Boston 2019 - the food was honestly 'okay' not great, not bad.
The venue is nice. The service a little slow. Had to ask for bread and when brought
bread had to ask for butter (?) . I'm a former restaurant employee but have common
sense of bring butter with the bread. Food runner was female with an armful of tattoos.
Sorry, call me old fashioned but this was not a 'elegant' meal and was trying out the place
to see if we want to have our holiday function here but will likely pass.
Food was not that great. Service wasn't either. It took a long time to get our food.
Wonderful Dine Out Boston lunch.
The service was very attentive, the ambiance wonderful and the food excellent. We really enjoyed dining outside on the harbor on a beautiful night.
Beautiful view sitting outside. The food was cooked very well but lacked in flavor. I would not go there again.
We have dined at Miel several times and had excellent results, this was not one of them. A list of little things just made it a poor showing. We ordered a salad to share, they did not give us plates so we used the bread plates which they cleared, then they brought the bread. Our veal chop came out raw and by the team it had been replaced the other person had finished eating. The Cioppino was good except there was a large uncracked lobster claw in it and nothing to crack it with. When the meat was finally removed it was under cooked and not edible. Molten lava cake, which we were told would take some extra time, came out cool and the coffee was just cold. Not a good showing.
The setting is beautiful but the food and service were not great. The restaurant was mostly empty so we were surprise at how long everything took. The food was not bad, but definitely not on par for the prices.
Wonderful dinner for 8 at Miel. The waiters and hostess were very accommodating and the food was excellent. Beautiful view of Fort Point Channel and while we couldn’t eat on the terrace because of the humidity, the dining room was very comfortable . A perfect evening.
Great food, though portions are a little small. Waiter very nice but slow.
Food was excellent. Rest was ok.
We had brunch at Miel inside the Intercontinental Hotel and it was great. We purchased a coupon deal from Travelzoo. The portions were great (eggs Benedict with lobster) and it came with a Bloody Mary or Mimosa.
Next time we’re at the hotel we’ll be back.
We stopped here for breakfast before a whale watch. The setting and atmosphere was pleasant as were the staff, very friendly! Service was slow though they were sweet enough to comp our drinks for having to wait so long. The food is severely overpriced for what you get. Cold by the time it arrived to our table and I honestly have never paid $20 for a single piece of Avocado toast anywhere else. I was expecting it to be the greatest toast I’ve ever had and instead it was cold and soggy and flavorless. Maybe they were understaffed or something that day so I wouldn’t hold it against them, but I mostly won’t go back.
My wife and I had dinner at Miel and it was surprisingly good. We purchased a coupon through Travelzoo and the portions were great. My wife had salmon and said it was the best she’s had. I had the filet mignon and it was great. Only complaint, a little too much salt, otherwise great meal.
We will be back.
The group had a great experience. I heard from two of the 5 "yum" and a "delicious" from another
I've been twice in the last 10 days and the food is great. Even though we arrived on time for a noon reservation, the tables outdoors had not been set and we had to wait about 10 minutes while the wait staff "meandered" out to set some tables. It was a gorgeous day, so you'd think every table would have been ready. The wait staff is very pleasant, but service was very slow overall for ordering (but lunch came pretty soon), getting the bill/paying/getting it back. I'll still go, but I'll let them know we're on a tight schedule. :-)
The ambiance was beautiful being right on the water. Every food option we asked for the server told us they were not serving that night (it was the Saturday night of July 4th weekend), then the seafood options we ordered were just fair in flavors. I’d pick someplace else to dine and just recommend them for drinks.
The location is Miel’s best asset. It’s beautiful to sit outside overlooking the water! The food is quite good but it was confusing to see menus from Miel as well as the bar next door. Our server went out of his way for us, which was much appreciated after the snafu with the hostess. I arrived first and was seated. My dining companion waited a full thirty minutes in the lobby because she told him I hadn’t checked in yet. Not OK. They did bring us a complimentary dessert.
Amazing service and waitstaff, the InterContinental has truly earned a stellar reputation! Will definitely recommend to friends and return.
Food was amazing!!
A slight problem with the shrimp cocktail, however, the waiter corrected it immediately, took it charge off the bill & the Manager came to our table, apologized & gave us a round of drinks. Food was delicious and service was impeccable.
Almost no patrons but the waiter was hard to find when we needed the check. Greens for my salad had big clumps of decaying lettuce like you find at the bottom of a bag that’s been in your fridge too long. Everything else was fine, but mediocre. Beautiful location on the water.
Had a wonderful brunch! The dessert was a treat, would certainly return for the dessert alone!
Beautiful atmosphere but food was average.
Lovely outdoor seating. Seafood is highly but I would suggest you let your waitstaff know to hold the salt because the chef tends to be on the salty side - only if you have a salt issue.
Average food, not what Miel used to be. The server was kind enough to let us know from the start that she was training, but should have been taught better, she lacked basic skills. Food took forever. The wine came after we got the appetizer. Disappointing experience.
